Some key dates for the upcoming season.

League fixtures are released at 9am tomorrow.

Season kicks off on 6th of August.

GW16(12th/13th of November) will be the last set of fixtures before the five week long winter break...:pac:

GW17 will be on Stephens day.

GW38 will be 28th of May.

Lastly, FPL launched on the 22nd of June last year, season starts one week earlier this year, so could be any day now.

I thought 12.0 for Haaland so the extra 0.5 will do nicely.

It'll be interesting to see what positions some players will be classified as this season and if any big changes.

Spotted any other positional changes so far? I've noticed;

Rodrigo (Leeds) has been changed from a FWD to MID, and Mbeumo (Brentford) has gone from MID to FWD. A reverse-Rodrigo, if you will.

Hmm from looking at these posts my plan looks like this at the moment

Goalkeepers - 9m - Sánchez + 4.5

Defenders - 27.5m - Dias - Robbo - Dunk - Jansson +4.5

Midfielders - Salah

Forwards - Haaland

that comes to 61m so far leaving 39 for 6 players which could be tight.

Will the 5 sub rule have much of an effect on FPL I wonder 🤔

I'm guessing key assets will be rotated/rested a lot more...ie. if City are 4 up after 60 mins will KDB and Haaland be whipped off?

It’s quite obvious that FPL Towers are taking a different approach to trying to remove the template (even though there will no doubt still be one).

Unless there is a new feature where we all have to have an extra player or something, FPL are giving us every possibility to go against the grain.

You can go big at the back, or you can go small at the back. Both are eminently viable with the amount of tasty 4.5 and 5.0 picks back there. But if you plump to double up on premium defenders, you could reap the benefits.

They’re making people make a choice on Salah. They’re doing similar with Son. You can’t have all premium picks at the back, but also have Son, Salah, Haaland and KDB. Saka is even a little expensive at 8.0, making you make a choice.

I think we’re all in for a surprise as to how the pricing will play out.

They’re even making us make a choice on keepers. Alisson + Robbo/TAA is a completely viable route now. Mendy at 5.0 gives you a choice to make - it’s really hard to ignore him, but there are so many 4.5 keepers.

I think the key to these pricings is you have to make choices everywhere.

Agree with all* of that. I also think (be it an intentional by-product of the pricing or not), that casuals will be more engaged because it's just easier to build a team of top 6 players, so no "research" of the promoted teams for example will be needed.

Forwards are still terrible value comparatively though. I'd like if they tweaked the scoring system to make them more interesting.

*The only exception being I'll find it quite easy to ignore Mendy. 😁
