May as well start the ball rolling.
He's so self-absorbed it's pathetic.
"You hide your frustrations well Nick"...lol
Haaaaaaaaa
Considering he has literally won f#ck all in singles....not a single major (outside of a doubles!)
I’ll be honest and admit that I don’t watch a whole lot of tennis. Do enjoy a bit of Wimbledon though. Haven’t seen Krygios before, but he seems a bit of a dick, no ?
The BBC are covering that as well.
Tsitsipas didn't come out of that positively either.
A bit??? That's putting it mildly
Given the actions of Tsitsipas its strange bbc are painting out nick to he the bad guy.
Looks like he will be getting to a semi or final.
Tsitsipas didn't hit anyone though, that's the difference. The rules should probably be looked into here, but what he did wasn't a default offence.
The commentators were....but this part with Sue Barker is showing it all.
Nick the Pr*ck.
Loved watching it tonight, thought Tsitsipas was very wound up and got away with a lot there. If it was the other way around I'd assume there would have been a bigger warning.
But what and who does Kyrgios be moaning at after every point?
Ah look who knows with Kyrgios..he is just as likely to blow up and lose it has form for it..let's see who he gets in the next round. Is it Brandon Nakashima?
He was mouthing off continuously in first & second set, had 2 or 3 warnings. Umpire indulged him and Tsitsipas got pissed off, when yer man appealed to the umpire to have him disqualified.
Tsits fortunate not to hit someone with those two balls
He only started getting uptight as far as I could see when the match officials indulged Krygios for the first two sets. Mouthing off, moaning and cursing. Arguably Tsitsipas should have got a walkover.
Questions have to be asked though how a player can be allowed to get away with intimidating the umpire like this? It influenced the match. Tsitsipas let it get to him (which he admittedly shouldn't have) and the umpire was subsequently afraid to sanction him any further. And coming just days after he boasts about spitting at a spectator? A very strange situation that's being allowed to continue.
Yeah i think Nakashima and then probably Fritz in quarter! Was really surprised today with rafa , thought Sonego would take a set , hes a real show court player.
Ah yeah I suppose so, he definitely influenced the umpire but Tsitsipas was very lucky twice not to hit someone in the crowd though two wrongs don't make a right(well in this case more than two)
It was 'Gamesmanship' pure & simple...McEnroe did it back in the day, when the game is going against you - disrupt it, disrupt your opponent's flow, get into your opponents head, niggle niggle ..and sure enough it worked tonight.
Personally i think Kyrgios is a disgrace...great entertainer? a character? no he's an a$$hole plain and simple... and i find it galling that sections of the media don't call him out on it
I mean if anyone describes this as 'entertainment' or such like, then it really is a sad indictment of society and our ability to indulge this kind of behaviour. 😶 ....think he should be kicked out of Wimbledon forthwith
Kyrios is the best bad boy of Tennis since Nastase and McEnroe.
Nastase and McEnroe had a certain class about them, Kyrgios has none
I'd have thought the second shot (the one that hit the score board) was valid as it was a live ball. So even if it hits a spectator it wouldn't be a default offence. It only applies to a dead ball after a point. Anyone confirm?
In the interview afterwards I am sure Martina Navratilova made this exact point.
Nastase and Mcenroe won big things, that is the very key difference.
****Press conferences available now****
yes but some sections of the media hype up his 'bad boy' image as a term of endearment 'isn't he the character'
Kyrgios gets away with too much disruption
Umpire should have been firmer and other umpires should be firmer earlier in the future (and I think they will) to basically "shut him down" if he's rabbiting shite to an umpire incessantly with no real point which slows things down and disrupts the other player too much
Tsitsipas was reckless with that ball but didn't hit anyone - could have been called for "ball abuse"
Don't think that there are double standards in relation to Kyrgios - 99.5% of the time it's him kicking things off and if he was shut down earlier it would benefit the match
Tsitsipas is not a bad guy
Kyrgios is a talented player but a disruptive tosser who creates situations out of nothing and who the umpires should act on sooner
The common factor is always Kyrgios - that tells you all you need to know
Have watched both press conferences.
Kyrgios comes off assholey and petty imo
Tsitsipas much better
