Didn't some high up politician or military lad in Ukraine say that things would turn in their favour come August? With the extra weapons and what not on the way, the training ongoing and August only a few weeks away - they could be right (providing someone said that and I wasn't dreaming)
Whatever about Crimea, too much sacrifice, death & destruction has been dealt out by the Russians for the Donbas to be given up too. As long as European neighbours can keep arming Ukraine and assisting with intelligence, the Russian occupying forces will be bled dry and forced to retreat.
The vast majority strike me as being genuine. In fact, I'm not sure I've seen evidence of even one of them being faked, going by the reaction of native Russian speakers on YouTube.
The Kremlin supporters were out in force in the early weeks trying hard to discredit them but so many conversations have been uploaded, often using localised or regional Russian slang words, that it seems very hard to imagine that there is some propaganda factory producing them.
Cherry picked conversation I'm sure.
I got to be honest I take these intercepted calls with pinches of salt. I'm sure a few of them are real, but they're a little too convenient for me overall.
You can go home if you know the right people and pay.
(R)=Russsian soldier (W)=His mother
(R): Hello, mum?
(W): Oh, hi son, hi my dear. How are you my dear?
(R): Alright… Tell me, did you go?
(W): Yes, I did, I met Yura, I gave him the money for Hasparian’s deputy, Hasparian promises for this money to transfer you to Perevalnoye. Finally you’ll be taken out of there, my God, I’m so happy…
(R): There’s… there’s three of us like that here, and nothing good is coming out of this…
(W): What? What are you talking about? How’s that?
(R): Nothing… no one is rotated, only sent to some *ss. Might “off” you there too.
(W): How’s it possible? They took so much money. It cannot be. I don’t believe, I don’t believe, you’ll be transferred certainly, son, please don’t say this, you’ll be transferred!
(R): F*ck no! One has already been sent like this…
(W): No! You’ll be transferred! They took my last money!!!
(R): Anyway! Enough, that’s it, come on.

(R1)=Russian soldier 1 (R2)=Russian soldier 2
(R1): I’m trying to call Seryoga “Ryba”, to text him, you see? Maybe we can get to someone through him, he’s the only hope, to f*ck with this. Better to give the money, sell the car, f*ck this sh*t, we’ll earn more again…
(R2): Seryoga? Which Seryoga?
(R1): F*ck, “Ryba”! Seryoga, from the meat processing plant…
(R2): Ah!
(R1): He’s *unintelligible*, you see?
(R2): I see… Look, they made it here and took two guys away, you see? So I wondered…
(R1): Took where?
(R2): To Donetsk! To a different unit…
(R1): To f*ck with these units! We need to get the f*ck out of here…
(R2): Demobilisation is $20,000.
(R1): HOW MUCH?!
(R2): $20,000
(R1): Are they f*cking insane?! I know it was $2,000… but not $20,000!
(R2): When was it?!
(R1): Back when… when everyone was being swept up! It was $2,000!
(R2): Yes, when they were sweeping, but now, when the people are already here… of course. They now raised *the price*. Anyway, the certificate saying that you are unfit… is half a million (roubles).
(R1): C*unts, profiting from this… I’m unfit anyway! By law… I’m not meant to be here at all!
(R2): I know that! Just don’t even think telling this to anyone!..
If you know the right people and pay you may just get screwed over. The great russian culture of making money.

It looks like Kyiv will be given effective missile protection.
Therefore, I'm hoping that any dangerous looking assault of Kharkiv will be a red line crossed.
It really does seem that Ukraine won't be allowed to be overrun by the filth in fatigues.
update on Ukraine from an actual informed source, American.
I hope for a Ukrainan offensive to shut the russians up once and for all,and send them home humiliated
Its amazing when Russia claims to have destroyed more equipment than Ukraine had before the start of war and have captured same villages 4 times in a row.
Investigative journalist Proekt We have analyzed all the statements made by Russian Defense Ministry representative Igor Konashenkov since the beginning of the war. They found many contradictions, especially regarding the order in which Russia occupied Ukrainian territory and the amount of Ukrainian equipment that Russia claimed to have destroyed.
Which one means more Russian invaders in body bags?
most likely scenarios for the summer's end is a protracted conflict or an operational pause, I know which camp Im in, do you?
Yes I looked it up; Fake News. Deleted. I posted it because it was in the news in a few different places.
No need to fact check it, just look at other articles on that site will tell you all you need to know. You have a history posting links like that. Perhaps take a few mins reading the article or even just glance at the headings on others and you will know!
Under their rights in the Montreux Convention, Turkey actually closed the Bosphorous to transiting warships from all countries , even Black Sea bordering countries unless the vessel's home port is in the Black Sea. That includes Russia. F-F-F-FACT
So once the Russian Black Sea Fleet gets picked off one-by-one - the sea will slowly but surely turn into a Turkish lake. A strategic victory for NATO, and all it will take is time.
I doubt very much if any Ukrainians will accept any deal with Russia that does not include Russia pulling out of ALL Ukrainian territory's, Crimea, Dunbas etc. And all this talk about Russia making gains etc at this point in time. Thats the whole point,,,at this point in time. Do you think they will be making the same gains in 3 mths time? Once long distance weapons come into play by the Ukrainians, you will see a big difference.
You are aware that NATOs fleet doesnt have to be in the black sea to make an impact,Turkey have US air bases and Romania and Bulgaria is beside the black sea as well with air bases as long range missiles?
Besides Cyprus have air bases as well close by and so does Greece, and there is carriers in the Mediterranean and subs as well with long range missiles.
Turkey controls the Bosporus and is a NATO country
So Russian navy in the black sea is just sitting ducks really and havent won anything
Only thing Russia have is a madman with nuclear weapons and love to threat anyone with them.
If a conflict with NATO happens in the black sea,the entire Russian Black sea fleet will be gone in a matter of hours.
Russian stuff blown up
Ah it's hilarious though
Ah, that was the reason... Thanks for the heads up Josey
For a user who claims 'FACTS' all the time. You seem to missing most of them.
OK, Im about to go out on a limb here but how about this as an endgame Ukraine relinquishes its claim to Crimea and the Donbas but gets Kherson back into the Ukraine...boom!
Finished work for the day. Came by for some FACTS. I find myself dissapointed, all I got was bloviated agitprop from another new-reg trying to do his best Bishop Desmond Tutu impression.
Hang on, nothing of what that clown said was of any importance… Russia (minus the Moskva) now has superiority in the Black Sea… Hello, when did it not? It always had… and the cannot even hold a poxy island or invade Odessa. Laughable.
What FACT did that clown have of any importance?
Ukraine has started exporting electricity to the EU
So I work for a us hedge fund. I think there may be restrictions on paying their LLC etc, so the fund is just relocating them setting up new shell to pay them in a new jurisdiction.
We had an office in Moscow, that's gone now too.
How jolly decent of them. This calls for an immediate reassessment of Putin. 😁
You are forgetting that the oil and gas supplied trough Europe is only trough pipelines,Russia have only one pipeline to China.
And new pipelines and infrastructure takes 5-10 years to make.
Besides Russias oil production was reduced by 1/3 once western oil companies pulled out.
So the rest is going trough oil terminals in Russia, and sent by tankers thats much more expensive and takes longer time.
During winter alot of port and terminals in Russia freezes over and expenisve hire of ice breakers and pilotage is needed.
And Russia is selling oil below market price.
This will only last temporary untill Europe stops importing oil and gas by 80% beginning of next year.
Then the sanctions will really start to set in
...
While I abhor ZenNature's Russia cheerleading, he / she / bot is not wrong about those facts. Russia has lost this war, strategically and geopolitically, in the long term. That is undeniable.
But they certainly are not losing in all areas tactically. British military bodies saying the same on UK radio this week.....speaking about Russian incremental and slow and steady gains. Which is why there are calls for escalation in NATO manpower, more weapons and preparedness for direct intervention.
