I guess China didnt get the memo about the sanctions. Even if they are having to give a discount Russia is still coining it because coal is at record highs.
This is not going to be doing the planet any good either.
The West sanctions on Russian coal received great applause but they arent going into effect until August.
So as those atrocious war continues , the West is lining the coffers of the Putin regime day by day.
As I have said I dont think our leaders in the West have thought thru their actions very well, pre , during and even post this war in Ukraine or any major issue for that matter.

Forums aren't like Twitter where the latter can be brigaded by legions of anonymous troll accounts and it becomes difficult to separate trolls from genuine people. On here, we can see that they only registered recently. It's all fairly obvious. It's something I've noticed on CA and AH over the last few years, and I'm sure I'm far from the only one. It often isn't even sophisticated or subtle trolling.
Remarkable the number of new posters who pop up on this thread, accounts registered within a few days and who basically trot out the same line about Ukraine and how they should just suck it up and settle for their current state of affairs. Quite remarkable.

I have been suspect of Lucky Lukashenka for a few weeks. He seems to be happy to get hold of Russian hardware but is clearly not going to help Putin who I suspect is someone he does not at all trust. I would not be surprised if I learn in 5 years time that Lucky Lunk is an ace in the hole for NATA and the US. That could be where all the high-value intel is coming from. If Lukashenka was a true Putin bot he would be helping Russia a lot more than this. Belarus and Kazakhstan might be looking at Russia post-Putin and planning for that evidentially. hopefully, by saying this I don't scupper anyone's plans!
To be fair it could be fear of the long arm vengeance from the Kremlin. The affair in Salisbury showed that Putin can have a pretty long reach when he wants to, and he's likely to be feeling even less inhibitions now than he was back then.

Very simple. You either Trade with Russia or the west.
It's really a basis for a proposed price cap by the EU but the G7 need to figure it out and agree it. It also includes tanker insurance, which is based out of London. How it works is simple enough. They agree a cap and will only pay that. If Russia tries to flog it elsewhere above that rate countries will be labelled sanctions busters and there could be some nasty consequences.

The Yanks are dicks geopolitically but as far as the prosecution of wars go, they make the Russians(and anyone else) look like Dad's Army. Not exactly surprisingly given how many trillions they throw at it and the practice they've had. They've never had much luck with insurgents, though nobody has, or can really, but they stayed in and controlled far more of Afghanistan than the Soviet Union at her near peak did.
Ukraine had a standing army (including reserves) not that far off the Russian army and Ukraine has barred all males 18-60 from leaving. Plus Ukraine is receiving arms from 30+ nations. Yet on the battle field they are not making progress. Maybe someone needs to face up to that and figure out why and fix it.
They got a fair number of anti tank weapons, a few drones, a few antiaircraft systems, a handful of heavy artillery, decent intel, no aircraft, no tanks. Dribs and drabs for the most part. If it were more than that Ukraine wouldn't be screaming for more on a daily basis, they know the "REALITY". Russian forces still overwhelm them in numbers of men and materiel. These are "FACTS" as you like to type it.
If the Ukrainians had anything near parity with Russian forces why didn't they decimate the miles and miles long Russian military convoy of men and materiel open on all sides on the road to Kyiv in this "feint" at the start? As I said way back when this was current, if a squadron of WW2 German Stuka dive bombers had fallen through a a crack in time and saw a target that big lined up like that below them they'd have had a collective orgasm and a field day. That convoy remained pretty much unmolested because Ukraine simply didn't have the men and weapons to hit it effectively, or at all. And at the time I got static from the Slava Ukraine! lot for the suggestion.

Russia has a massive advantage in particular in artillery, and at least in the beginning in armoured forces in general. They have managed to spectacularly waste the latter, but the former is still formidable. Current deliveries into Ukraine of western artillery systems should hopefully help address the imbalance.
And the G7 boyos are talking about a cap on all Russian oil prices, which will further squeeze them. In the long term whatever happens Europe and a host of others won't touch Russian gas and oil with a bargepole if they can help it. He'll have to build pipelines to China and India and do it without any Western tech and help.
The ruble being so strong is another indicator that all is not well in the Russian economy. It's demonstrating that there is no demand for foreign currency in Russia. That's really bad news for any economy in the medium and long term. And that's before we consider Erdogan has removed his objections to Finland and Sweden joining NATO. He's openly putting his lot in with the EU and NATO and in general him and Turkey histroically have played both sides and none.
