Indeed the one Tax that Riles middle income earners more than any other TAX.
Quite amazing that the one tax that the rich can't escape with tax credits is also the tax that Sinn Fein and the opposition want to abolish. USC is the best tax on income out there.
There you go again Marko, makey uppy responses, I've not mentioned Helen in my responses to you this morning 🤔🤔🤔 (nice try)
Secondly moving the Goal posts 🤔 was it not you who yet again referred to stats 🤔 apologies I didnt realise you alone can refer to same. It would appear your keen to promote stats you like and absolutely ignore those you don't. Can't have it both ways Marko.
I thought about your little jibe about fat shaming last night, I see you've been following my contributions elsewhere, a little odd but of course your referring to a thread that is in essence parody and is entirely irrelevant to this this Thread, Just thought I'd point that out before I forget 😉
Cant wait for the opposition to get rid of the USC, one of Ireland's best Wealth Tax!
I see Paschal busy this morning.
Firstly there's that troublesome TV license which the commission looking in its future, appear to want to scrap it entirely.
Then there's the other troublesome matter of the USC, those. With Medical cards pay a reduced rate above €12k approximately, that consession about to end, Paschal not being forthcoming on what his intentions are (Typically) let's not forget the USC was supposed to be temporary.
Were we not talking about Helen McEntee?
Again, you run away from the debate when you are found out not reading articles you post yourself.
Shift the goal post when I refute your core central point.
Ill repeat new housing starts and builds are at the highest they have been for about 10 years.
Yes common sense indeed Marko, you seriously belive Darraghs plans are going swimmingly 😂😂
Good morning by the way
A yes those Stats Marko, have you seen the most recent ones on homelessness, how about social housing and affordable homes etc, pretty grim wouldn't you say (of course you wouldn't) 😉
McEntee on about banning porn in the country now
Not what she said. Read the article, it's right there in the very first sentence.
The Minister for Justice is seeking to restrict children and young people’s access to porn websites as part of a “landmark” strategy to tackle domestic, sexual and gender-based violence.
Now, I think we can all agree that people as young as 10 or 12 shouldn't be accessing hard core pron, but the difficulty as mentioned in the article is how one does that. Its an issue many countries are trying to grabble with.
“I would love to say that we would just block every single site and not allow young people to access it, but that is simply not possible.
“Even putting in place a huge amount of measures to restrict a child or young person’s access to certain websites, working with them, supporting parents to make sure that they understand what the children are looking at.”
Of course folks with "common sense" will know the vast majority of such sites not operated within the state but from servers all over the world.
Yes, common sense indeed because Helen McEntee makes reference to the difficulty in banning such sites in the article itself.
Speaking at the launch of a new national strategy on domestic, sexual and gender-based violence, Ms McEntee said banning websites that advertise the sale of sex was a “hugely challenging space”.
Since 2017, a law has made it illegal to pay for sex in Ireland. The ban also applies to websites which advertise escorts.
“We have banned these types of websites. Unfortunately, where their server is or where they’re being run from moved to Ireland to the UK, it was then banned there and moved to Spain,” Ms McEntee said.
“While we are doing everything that we can to make sure that our laws are clear, in other jurisdictions where it’s not illegal there is a challenge there. We are exploring geo-blocking and other types of ways in which we could prevent these sites from operating. But it is obviously a very difficult space.”
I guess we can chalk this down to another article you posted that you didn't read.
But honestly, my concern remains this. FFG have created such a mess the next government, whomever it may be will struggle, not just with this mess but many others this current government will leave behind.
Nonsense tbh. The constant negativity on all and everything here makes one wonder if they are living in Ireland or the horn of Africa.
Housing starts and construction is at the highest its been for about 10 years.
Anyone else mentioning the chocolate bar allegations will be threadbanned
I think there was a proofing typo error with regard to Daragh O Briens big plan re housing, open to correction of course but it surely should have read
Housing for F**K all 😏
I dare not mention a certain parties abilities or lack of, there'd be a melt down .
I'm reminded of an infamous letter left by an outgoing Chief Secretary of the Treasury to the incoming one in the UK around 2010
"There's no money left "
We've had rebuilding Ireland, now housing for all, when that fails we'll get some other catchy name next year. I'm no Sinn Fein fan but can they really do any worse? The bar is fairly low.
It would seem Helen only concerned about sites advertising/Targeting "Ukranian Women" for escort and other services so to speak, from what I'm gathering, open to correction, but it would seem more "Virtue Signalling" I suspect.
Got to love the catchy "Zero Tolerance" slogan,, the Irony won't be lost on most folks 😉
The only way to actually ban sites is either banning it for everyone and making people who want access to call up and get it, or having a license system for the internet, both of which are great overreach imo.
I wonder if they can find anyone to buy the chancer Robert Quirkes ventilators, seeing as they seem to be letting him away with what was an obvious scam, or at the very least a blagger caught bullsh*tting, and for some reason is allowed to get away with it, all the while earning interest on our money. Now using it to tread on Kinahan turf and starting to show up more often.... 🤔
Hiding away in tax free havens..
Come back to me in a year when we are 9th etc.. We have just started going down, and are nose diving.
Look at and read your own go-to stats. Also you may want to read them all and answer my question on the previous post, are FFG taking credit for Ireland appearing in the number 2 slot?
A fine bit of deflection taking away from Madigan and her disgraceful few days of lying, housing for all plan piece by piece falling apart and the airport more than likely going to need the Army.
So you would vote for a person who has no actual political backbone and changes their mind on how things are changing. Mr Varadkar was nowhere to be seen before pride got popular.
Just to add. I thought he was a typical conservative before he came out.
Yes, because you have the extraordinary gift of reading people's minds.
You can make money from that.
ofc when they see what way the wind is blowing.
A person cant change their mind?
How do you know he didn't say no?
did mr Varadkar not so long ago not agree with gay marriage. or was it rights cant remember.
Explain your problem.
Has this person been questioned by Gardai? Has this person been charged with an offence? Have they been convicted of an offence? Or are you just making something out of nothing or out of something that happened in private between two adults?
Touché 😉
Leo could have said no.
I have a problem with a certain FG person walking in Pride and I ain't talking about Leo.
