The Right religious conservatives and who knows who else have today overturned the constitutional right to abortion in the US.
Will this now embolden anti abortionists in this country to fight back?
The US is a cold place for women now.
That's funny way to think about those with crisis pregnancies. Why are you happy to forsake poor women?
Its amazing the prolife position didnt lose by more in the abortion referendum here if you these are the arguments made by that side. You take away their free will to make a decision about their body and don't even pretend to give them something in return. The Catholic church position is worse though, I suppose, being even against preventative measures like contraceptives.
Who said anything about race? Those people would be poor people. That isn't confined to a race. Unless you think it is for some reason.
I don't think you understand what a white knight is.
So what about those that can't afford to go to another state?
Step one- Use Condom
Step two- Take morning after pill
I'm happy with women who take responsibility and accountability
and if that fails?
oh yeah, forced pregnancy.
medication can also interfere with the pill.
it may be too late before you realise.
doesn't matter what the reason is, there should be no forced continuation of pregnancy
I don't care about what the CC thinks, I'm not a Catholic. We've hundreds of examples through our history that show us that consensus isn't always the truth or the best thing, so why rely on the mob for argumentative strength? And if we're taking about pure free will, then they've, in many cases, used their free will badly in the first place to end up in a position that they don't want to be in. As we always get told, actions have consequences, and their actions have put them in the position that they are in.
Like other posters you like to use these concepts when they suit you, yet you quickly drop them when they don't.
So you are happy with those that have an abortion. That's good to know. You didn't actually say why you are happy to forsake poor women. Care to tell us?
Should all men get the snip? That's one definite way to avoid crisis pregnancies and both can have all the sex they want.
Or are we only allowed to tell women what they are or aren't allowed to do with their own bodies?
Take a breath, no one is happy about poor women, you are putting words into other people's mouth.
The scenario you are projecting is not real. Women do have choices, the first and most important one is the choice to make the right decisions
Step three - get a vasectomy
I'm sure you must be dying to take responsibility and help avoid unplanned pregnancies. Or is that just for the women?
and what are "the right decisions" ?
should all men be required to get the snip as Faugheen suggested ?
if not, why?
Unlike you, I mind my own business. What other people do with their lives doesn't concern me. Funny you mention the world bending to your will, it's you and your buddies that are in the minority on this issue yet you are trying to impose your will on everyone else. I ain't the one that needs to grow up.
Apply the same to casual Friday night encounters and reduce your risk of unwanted pregnancy
People are thinking like adults. Getting a vasectomy is a very adult thing to do and can help avoid crisis pregnancies.
Why are you avoiding this topic? It's not a silly question at all. We're talking about 'taking responsibility' here and men can take responsibility.
Or are we only allowed to tell women what they do with their own bodies?
Maybe you can add that to your Tinder profile.
No time wasters, no fertile men
LOL!
And you're the one accusing others of being childish?
What's wrong with asking men to get vasectomies? It can help avoid crisis pregnancies.
I did the exact same thing as you did
And if so how do you feel about that ?
Your evidence is the name of one bar chart when 54 different books were banned.
Nothing you pointed disputes my original assertion that it was an act of big government by the Republicans.
Who is talking about free speech? We're discussing about the absurd myth that Republicans are against big government.
You must not have read the story. Here is what happened:
Kennedy became an assistant coach of the varsity football team at Bremerton High School in 2008 and later began offering a brief prayer on the field after games ended and the players and coaches met midfield to shake hands. The school district eventually told him he should find a private location to pray.
But he declined and continued his practice of dropping to one knee and praying on the 50-yard line. He later invited journalists and a state legislator to watch. The district gave him a poor performance evaluation, and he did not apply to renew his contract after the 2015 football season. Kennedy sued, claiming violations of his right to free expression and religious freedom.
Lower federal courts said that because he chose to say his prayers in such a prominent place, he was acting as a public employee and his conduct was therefore not protected by the First Amendment. Those rulings cited past Supreme Court decisions that said when public employees act in their official capacities, they are speaking more for the government than for themselves.
Kids on his team complained that they were feeling understandable pressure to join him in his prayer.
The Republicans in some places have outlawed gay couples mentioning their husband/wife for fear of what it will do to children yet support teachers pressuring kids to pray with them in a given religion in a setting which is supposed to provide religious free environment.
Sure we had a poster earlier claiming there is no real cost associated with a baby until it is born.
Seems there is a consistent and unsurprising theme from those who are happy about the supreme court decision that they dont understand the basics about women or babies.
And if these points are put to them, it's 'childish', 'unhinged', 'juvenile' as a means to avoid answering them.
Not really.
I highlighted the fact that the left were all for government regulation on people's bodies during the pandemic, beyond masks into discussions about forcing people to accept vaccine mandates etc.
There is a irony to that being a line the left were happy to walk but women's bodily autonomy in relation to abortion is a sacrosanct thing.
That's before we get into the whole "what is a woman?" discussion.
You have to admit that being a leftie requires a fair amount of moral and logical flexibility.
Do tell ?..you who know the many ,many ways ?
My relative who had numerous children by emergency caesarean section due to her fitting with preeclampsia on every pregnancy , would have loved to have ' many , many ways to stop ' getting pregnant .
I believe the approved way was called " the Billings method " back then .
By the way she suffered brain death and she and her last baby died .
And before you talk about contraceptives , aren't these next on the right fundamentalists lists for the axe ?
Nothing wrong with it at all. Men who want to have sex and not get a woman pregnant absolutely should be considering a vasectomy, or else prepare for the possibility of fatherhood. No one is trying to let men off the hook here. It's just that this vasectomy stuff is a pointless rabbit hole to go down because you could have all of the men in the world either snipped or prepped for fatherhood, the discussion still has to come back to the woman.
(sidenote, I'm pretty sure even the snip even 100%, so you really need to go into things with you're eyes open)
Why do you keep comparing public health measures during a pandemic with a woman's right to bodily autonomy?
On the flip side, were you one of the "my body my choice" crowd when you were asked to wear a mask? Shame you don't extend the same logic to abortion.
hes probably for forced pregnancy to "own the libs"
sad.
I wore a mask no problem and got my jabs so you needn't go down that road.
There is a difference between following public health advice and some of the insane crap that was being spouted from the left during the pandemic relating to mandates etc.
There's a clear hypocrisy there whether you care to see it or not.
