Thanks championc I have a joule 300 litre tank, it only has one element and no stat so I can't go with that option. Yeah I'll definitely have usage from the grid so I'll never be having negative usage.
Maybe time to consider playing with some automation. Build temperature sensor device and turn the Eddi On or Off based on the Temperature
The relay board on the eddi can have temperature sensors that can be read via an API for automation.
Would that require a probe on the tank too?
At around lunchtime the last two days I've had an error on my inverter (Sunsynk Hybrid with NO battery) of F15: SW_AC_OverCurr_Fault.
Any ideas?
I will be contacting the supplier as its only been in for 2 weeks, but I'd like to get an idea from the Forum beforehand so I can compare their response.
TIA
Solis Cloud & Home apps have been absolutely pants these last few days.....
Offline most of the weekend, then comes back yesterday evening, and then gone offline again this morning!!!
Mine has been fine. Did have some problems a week or so back but not since.
I had those same problems about a week or so ago, and the ap was updated, and it seemed ok, but since then it's been pants!!!
I rely heavily on the Solis Cloud app to see what my generation is as well as battery SoC so I can start using the excess elsewhere like washing machine, charge the car etc...
Gonna put my IT head on and assume there is a backend migration happening on our data.
Like DrPhil i had issues a week ago - every day around noon it would show zero... but its back to normal now
Mine came back on there about an hour ago…. And now it’s gone ‘offline’ again!!
I have Solarman v1.8.6 and I've never seen it offline. The icon is white with a blue water drop type logo
Anyone have a handy formula/spreadsheet for calculating savings?
I had initially just been comparing bills but that's very vague and inaccurate especially considering the increasing unit prices.
I need to record actual usage, generation, day vs night etc to calculate what I would have paid on each bill compared to what I did pay.
Indeed, it's difficult to calculate things in a monetary way. I have always tracked my usage in kWh.
Back in 2018, I was at around 3,800 per year. This dropped to about 2,800 with my initial Lead Acid's and dropped further with the LiFePO4's. However, after installing the Seplos, which has transformed my operation of the Sofar ME3000, I'm now heading for an average annual consumption of possibly as low as 1500kWh
Have you any alarms at the same time the app acts up? I noticed with mine there was a high voltage BMS alarm that caused the app to show 0 in most of the fields.
Hi Guys,
I am probably in the wrong forum, please excuse - I had a thermodynamic water heating system fitted approx 5 years ago and it has stopped working, the company that installed it has gone out of business and I am finding it impossible to get a company or someone to look at and repair it.
Please point me in the right direction - Thank you in advance!!
Anyone know how long it usually takes for Solis to assign someone to a ticket? opened a week now and nothing, not even assigned.
Seems really hit and miss. I've had stuff answered within the hour, others sitting there for ages.
Have one open and unassigned 2 weeks now
Took 3 days for a response that was useless to my problem and waiting a week now for a further response after I replied to the email they sent.
Try calling them, sometimes you get someone helpful.
I'm having difficulty connecting the data logging stick (dongle) ginlong to the solis cloud app.
I scanned the serial number and inputted the wi-fi password but it won't connect.
Connected ( no internet )
It's reverting back to my house wi-fi.
The signal is poor.
The Eddi is upstairs ( hollow core floor ) and my house is very well insulated.
Any suggestions?
Would a larger antenna help?
If I understand you correctly, it sounds like you are doing it incorrectly.
You connect to the stick via WiFi. You then browse to it's up address and run the Wizard to get it to connect to your home WiFi (on 2.4ghz only)
I have tried to connect to the stick via the solis cloud app?
Is that incorrect?
This was the case with thr older WiFi stick. I wanted to watch the ***** lads do the set up on mine a few weeks ago a d thet couldnt get the WiFi dongle to connect to the 2.4ghz. Got a newer model from the van and connected straight away to the 5ghz. I had to deleted the app and plant after pairing the battery, 3 duplicate systems showed.
Absolutely no help from solis after raising 3 tickets but YouTube was more help. As long as you find the right manual for the model in use its straight forward enough
MOD NOTE
No naming companies please.
Hey, looking for some guidance here.
I installed a nice 7.5kw system back in October - very happy with the production. But sometimes I'm seeing that I'm not getting a reading from the inverter through the app. A few pictures attached showing 1) No pv production even though the panels are producing elec 2) a gap in the reported production during the day (this gap is not there when I retrospectively look back on previous days) and 3) No records coming from the inverter for a period of time (it's operational and working away when I physically go look at it)
I think the inverter may be on the verge of the wifi range in the house and thus depending on conditions may not be able to connect to it. I will be expanding my wifi coverage but is there anything else I should consider?
Thanks!
If you look at your wifi router settings, you will have a mode against 802.11 - n or g/n or b/g/n
Having "b" on the permitted modes will give access to the slower speeds at longer distances
I called Solis support as nobody was assigned to my ticket after 2 weeks. The guy was quite helpful. My constant discharge of 0.3kW is a known issue apparently and being worked on. I have another issue where it's flip-flopping between import and export when it's not generating (e.g. at night). He's going to do a firmware change/upgrade so interested to see how that works.
@irewestlad I had similar issues. Installers were telling me it was grand and had reception - until I closed the attic hatch when they left. 🤣 thankfully I had a spare wifi extender knocking about and plugged that in on the landing just below the inverter. It's still got a low-ish signal but enough to stay connected. It's nothing fancy - I think I got it in Harvey Norman.
Waht is your DSP version on inverter? I had unexplained usage with one DSP version and had to downgrade to sort it.
3A0032 is the version showing, or is it another number I should look for?
