I'd take a dim view of the gouging alright and would support a nice ban for the culprit but the other stuff is just lads getting a little excited. The game is played on the edge. You can't ask young men to be that pumped up, play a physical game and not expect it to boil over on occasion.
Well I certainly hope the gouger doesn't get away like the Galway hurler Cianan Fahy did for another heinous act.
