Yep it is in most positions as CO within the Intreo once you’re trained up! Always depends on your manager too though …..
Any update on where they’re at for Dublin clearance?
I sent an email on 15th June and PAS replied that there were 110 people in front of me to be called for clearance (I'm early 1300). That doesn't mean that they were in late 1100 as from what I can understand some people in between have been rejected or declined an offer.

Guys is anyone got assignment to Department of Justice in D1 or D2? If yes, where you based and how do you work ? I mean hybrid, 5 days attendance in the office? Is good or bad? I got date to start 4th July just yesterday and I am shocked, have to make a decision within couple days! HELP :)!!

Generally new hires are meant to be in office full time, to be trained and meet other staff. I know in DSP wasnt a hope of new hires wfh until they were there at least 6 months

Most departments are hybrid and as far as I know justice is still hybrid or blended working at the minute. Justice have a few offices and areas where you can go but there main office is in Stephens green
Hi, I got my dept and start date however I have to do a notice period in my current job and have a couple of days holiday booked. How is this generally received? Also what is the rate of pay I will be on as C.O ? Should I have this info now too. Thanks for the help
Thinking of applying for civil service job. Have been working in daa in the airport the past five years doing 4am shifts, 12 hour shifts weekends, night shifts. I’m 28 and saying do I really want to do this for the rest of my life. I’d love civil service for the job security, Monday to Friday hours no weekends.
im on 30k in my job now but if going to civil service I’d be starting on 25k am I mad to this? I need some advice from someone who has done similar.
With the payrises due over the next 12months, starting salary will have increased to 26,500+. Within a year you wont be far off 30,000
@icstress2012 I can vouch for this my salary will be back where it was.
applying for the civil services means you can end up anywhere though mainly 9-5 however you could end in a role that do shift.
Had my interview for clerical officer yesterday, I thought it went abysmal. I prepared for competency based questions with examples but I blanked on the spot a few times. Felt like an idiot.
I feel a few of the questions went very well though.
A bit depressed with how it went overall but I suppose it was a learning experience. Suppose I should improve on my interview skills for the next one!
My interview for my current was shocking too, and I’m in civil service now.keep an eye on the TCOs that should be coming soon on public jobs if you need to
@lcstress2012 Hi, I've been in same job for 12 years. Retail job. Hours are not bad (except for Christmas)but thats about it. I'd be on similar pay to you. A little more, and I've taken the leap to move to civil service. (Going through Garda vetting at the moment). It's a big decision to make to quit a job for less money but I've been told people move up quickly. If no option to move up where I am so it's pretty much a dead end job. I'm 37 btw.
I've seen lots who thought they did bad but passed, but even if you don't, try not to dwell on it. I failed the 2020 interview exponentially lol! BUT from that experience i knew what they were looking for & passed this years & also placed on my co. Council panel.
Whats for you won't pass you! I think this is only a 12mth panel so you won't have to wait 2yrs like most to reapply. It will fly. Still 🤞 you won't have to.
Anyone any idea what number on the order of merit they have reached for clearance in Dublin? Seems to be moving quite slow. Had my interview 3 weeks ago and I’m 1320. Just wondering will i be waiting much longer to hear anything
Have received e-mail to select locations for Louth . I know revenue are in Dundalk and there would be DSP - anyone know what’s other departments in louth. It was my second choice so not as up to date . Thanks
@steveng411 Hi, my oom was 1075. I had my interview on 28 April. I got an email on 16 June saying I'm under consideration for AGS in Dublin. I'm currently waiting for Garda vetting clearance.
Have no idea really but have you not been given a name of someone in HR to ask, who contacted you with the offer.
For anyone in Limerick, PAS said today that they are currently working OOM 15 in batch 3.
Anyone know what they ask at TCO interview. Do they just go through application? Thanks
Same as at CO interview, they go through competencies. Make sure you know them and prepare examples for each. They barely acknowledged my application. Bear in mind that they cannot get TCOs so you really have to be spectacularly bad to fail it. I had a really bad one because I was fairly unprepared for it but still passed.
I was called for clearance 6 weeks after my interview, on the 19 May. But once you get to that, things are moving pretty fast: clearance took just 2 weeks, I was assigned a department 2 June and starting 4 July.
Nope, they told me that my manager will be in touch with me a few days before I start 😭
They email you but than they create an official message on publicjobs.ie
