I don't know about that. TBH the lights I feel are a weakness at the moment, I don't think they are great. They are bright but they are not an even spread, you can see the blocks of light. I find with dipped beams you have to have to have them set lower than normal to avoid blinding oncoming cars. Mine has been back to Sandyford which did not help, but they did all they could do presently.

It is usefull because the car costs is not just the initial purchase cost. If you don't want it just put 0.1 km driven a year or 0.1 iin any other 2 boxes fuel eff or petrol cost.
I have a problem with long range and performance where the price in the RHD is different from cash price and I don't understand how is it acceptable.
Actually, you're right, my configurator had more expensive wheels in there already. On previous occasions when I saw this mismatch, it was indeed on the Long-range and Performance, as you say. That's where the shenanigans are.
I just figure it out. It is the American way of displaying the price ex taxes. So 62,990 is the price before VRT 4,741, shipping 980 and tyre recycling 14 => 68,725. At least there is a law forcing them to display the price inclusive of VAT. At least I know now
First thing I did was switch the value beside the battery icon to percentage rather than distance. Saves a world of worries (and questions from anyone else driving the car).
The Energy App showing Average range for last 50km is one I trust more for what's left 'in the tank'.

Yep, it has the matrix lights, I find them both good and bad !, They are nice and bright and dipped beam and high beam are very good.....but auto dimming is rubbish - I live in the countryside and it leaves it far to late to dip the headlights when on a straight road, it's almost unusable and it also dims a lot for reflections from roadsigns, it seems very dumb, it can't even handle these situations so I think it will be a while (if ever) before we see a software update that will enable proper matrix functions as currently found on other cars

I find the wipers fine now, much better than in 2020 anyway. Only issue I have now is in misty weather it doesn't wipe as often as I'd like. In actual rain I find them good
Is the consensus the dates being moved forward is a mistake? If it was being delivered sept/oct it would probably mean the car is already built as I think the ship would take a few months to get here with whatever stops it needs to make?
I am unsure whether the estimated dates are reliable or not, however I doubt if the cars are already built. It is usual for Tesla to try to distribute cars as soon as they are available and Shanghai produces for the local Chinese market, Australia and Europe. As it relates to Europe it is approx a one month journey by sea (Southhampton for UK, and Zeebrugge for Northern Europe including Ireland). So for Irish deliveries cars need to be ready about 6 weeks from delivery date and pattern so far is that they are delivered in last 2 weeks of each quarter (End of June, End of September).
If I’m reading you right they expect to deliver cars here in this range (expected Jan feb initially) by the end of September since they have ramped up production?
it was mentioned that you could have your delivery changed in the thread but just get bumped down the list. Can you do that and keep your initial price when ordered?
Would be good to hear from anyone who has direct experience of requesting a hold on delivery. I am thinking of changing to a White Model 3 (order Midnight Silver) as that version has a longer delivery date. I know that Tesla are renowned for changes to EDD and I find it hard to think that a Mod 3 ordered a week ago June would have a delivery date of August to October as this would be inconsistent with the EDD at time of booking a week ago and also the current indicative EDD for new orders, both of which run into 2023. All the more so when we know the impact that Shanghai closure had on Q2 deliveries which suggests that there are a lot of unfulfilled orders in the queue.
Would appreciate any views from those who have successfully been able to request a hold/delay on delivery as opposed to speculative opinions.
why are the new estimated dates not reliable? If they build c.1000 M3 per day and estimate 6 weeks for shipping. If cars arrive end of Sep, then they could be built early/mid July and shipped?
I ordered last September and immediately delayed delivery for Jan 2022 for a 221 car and collected the car in march when the next delivery came in after my delayed delivery date went by, no probs:) delivery date was fairly accurate as well, p.s I went for white and it looks great ,I feel the other colours just blend into the background but the white really stands out, red is nice too but there was no way I was spending that amount on a colour!!

My view was informed by the backlog of orders. Shanghai lost 60,000 units of production due to Covid closure and there is a backlog in deliveries. Model Y also was focused on for Q2 production with few model 3 delivered.
There are many Model 3 customers who have seen their EDD move out (associated with production shortfall) who have ordered many months ago. The UK is a large market served by Shanghai and estimates of just receiving 1/3 of the volume of previous quarter. Hard for me to think that Model 3 ordered a week ago would be delivered in Aug or Sept. Just doesn’t make sense to me.
If I was to delay delivery for Jan Feb 2023 i presume I'll be caught for any price increases (assuming prices go up)as it will be treated as a new order?
You won't be caught for price increases but if the grant changes you'll have to cover the difference.

Yep, unfortunately the RWD will be the only big seller here for the foreseeable future. Makes one wonder if Tesla will prioritise the Irish Market when we will be buying so few of their higher profit models.

Bear in mind also that the LFP battery in the RWD is capable of charging to 100% (and recommended by Tesla to do so ) whereas the Long Range (while similarly capable of 100% charge ) is recommended to limit charge to 80% as charging to 100% results in higher degradation of battery over its life impacting overall efficiency. If recommendations are followed this narrows the range gap between RWD and Long Range. With improvements in RWD I think there is a case for renaming the Long Range as it is hardly a selling point and coming with a 15K price differential (grant available on RWD) ...its a lot of money for little benefit..in my humble opinion.

I'm reading online, and in the car manual that the centre of gravity has to be 225mm from the toe ball. Does not seem like you could get a 3 bike rack on it? Would love to hear if anyone has experience with roof bars or tow hitch, thanks.
