Germany continue to play a blinder for Moscow.
Ukranians couldn’t counterstrike Russian artillery until they got the American Howziters recently.
The reason I mentioned HIMARS and PZH2000 is because they out range russian artillery. They are also very precise. The closer russian forces get to Lysychansk the more compacted they get.As they dig in they will be hit hard.How/where will they hide their equipment?villages and towns are mostly flattened. They had the woods around Severodonetsk, they are walking/forced into another meat grinder.
He looks a bit like smeagole
Support Ukraine posters.Rip it down you may get a bloody finger
Lucky escape
Intermission:
This has been reported early in this thread but I was not aware that the plane in question was an Ilyushin-76 Russian military supply jet.
In addition to my previous post, I did say a few weeks ago that Russia is seriously short of Jet pilots. This proves it. He even had to use Sat Nav to find his way around as he could not work the onboard systems. !!!
I think all Banana is saying is "having no intention" of doing something is no guarantee of being able to do it and anyone who thinks Ukraine is militarily capable of getting Russia off all its land in the foreseeable future is living in a fantasy world. Unfortunately that seems to include 80 percent of posters here who interpret every setback for Ukraine as some sort of positive and keep insisting the big counteroffensive to defeat Russia is just around the corner. It would be nice if it was true, but it's about as objective as the "4D chess" Trump supporters used to talk about every time something went wrong: "don't worry, it's all part of the plan". Except it's not.
I think this is the same one crashing
I was in Afghanistan rogber, and saw first hand what sandal clad tribesmen did to the Russian military, and now you have an equally motivated, but far better armed Ukrainian military fighting the same enemy. And no, I'm not expecting a quick end to this conflict, but I'm convinced that Ukraine will win in the end. Their very survival as a nation depends on it. The best Russian troops can hope for is to get out alive, and never return to the battlefield. Putin is facing mega recruitment problems, and returning military survivors will not encourage anyone they know to enlist. He will have the upper hand in some places now due to long range bombing, but once thats countered, you will see a big change.
This pilot is flying so low
This pilot hit the ground.
Today, on June 24, in one of the directions, a serviceman of the air defense unit of the 79th separate assault brigade of the DShV of the Armed Forces of Ukraine shot down a Russian Su-25 "Grach" attack aircraft
Lots of water ( and many other things ) under the bridge since it kicked of 24 Feb...Putins master 3 day master plan to take over, and just a Russian nightmare. Now Russian dreams consist of taking two areas, and they are experiencing very heavy going to do this. And that's nothing to what it will take to hold it. No, its not quite the same. The sanctions are of course working away in the background, and will continue to eat away at the Russian economy.
In Afghanistan, they were the weapon of choice between all the warring parties. Machine guns mounted on Toyota pick ups were lethal....they even mounted twin barrel anti-aircraft cannon on them. Ideal hit and run vehicles, and well suited to the Afghan terrain.
Those toyota pick ups can take a lot of punishment!
I sure hope so,lets see how much impact HIMARS can make in Ukraine
I hope your right
We will see
Just some perspective for those who are excited that Russia is about to take Sievierodonetsk.
This a news story from April 18th (over 2 months ago). Remember the grand Russian offensive - the unstoppable force that was going to crush Ukraine in just a few days? It's not progressing quite as fast as planned. I don't think anyone should believe that Russia planned the war to go on for years.
No, don’t you understand? Nobody is excited about Russia advancing, they just want everyone to have the benefit of their superior minds and to really understand what’s going on… either that or they are contrarians looking for attention.
Bad news for Putnut
Yes they can !!! Unbelievable. For what they do, they are the best, the very best in mass produced vehicles. I saw one that had driven over a remote controlled mine, the man ( yes it was a man) hit the trigger a fraction of a second too soon, and the mine blew under the front bumper, and not under the engine as would normally be the plan for most destruction ( and death / injury) none the less, the force was so severe, it bent the chassis upwards leaving a kink in the roof, while wrapping the bonnet upwards and bending it back over the roof. It drove all the way home, several miles across the desert. But most important, none of the passengers or driver were hurt. Talk about not going until your time is up.....😎
I want to donate money that goes towards weapons for Ukraine.
A interesting program on PBS right now on Putin and Russia. Not to mention a certain US orange tanned ex President.
Will Scholtz approve it though?
And if he does, will he make up some crap excuse that they will be delivered months from now.
German arms industry have been quite willing and fast to offer heavy weapons only to be blocked by Scholtz. Never count a German supplied heavy weapon until it's in Ukrainian hands in Ukraine.
Yep a little less conversation a little more action.
The Sandbagger in me was hoping all this talk talk talk and delays was just a smokescreen and the weapons were already in Ukraine, but that doesn't seem to be the case :(
retreating may no longer be an option if they wait much longer
Wasn’t it predicted that russian planes were going to start falling out of the sky a few weeks ago ? Looks like sanctions are working
Can you give a source for this? And one that verifies the story and the connection of the two pictures?
Thank you.
Perhaps, but these are fundamentally Russian aircraft so may not be as dependent on foreign parts as a Boeing or an Airbus.
And Russian aircraft already have a solid tradition of crashing, about 1 incident every 2 - 3 years for this type (scroll down to Accidents)
