IIRC, I placed the order as cash order. Once the finance was approved, I went in and amended the order to add First Auto Finance as the finance option a couple of days later.
Thanks.
I'm just wondering if you need to do that shortly after placing the order, or whether you can do it just before delivery? (given that it could be up to a year for delivery you'd imagine the finance quotes might no longer be valid?)
I asked the same question. I'd suggest applying for the finance now anyway. It takes a day or two, then you get approval for 90 days (or similar). You will need to re-apply closer to your delivery date. I understand the re-approval takes only an hour or less.
For info, my EDD has just changed to August-Oct - brought forward from Jan-Feb ‘23.
I was actually ok with the Jan Feb timeline. Liked the idea of a 231. Do I have any options to delay? Will the car be registered as a 222 even if I delay to January?
They won’t hold it for you.
If you don’t accept, it goes to the next person. They will register a car on the 31st December quicker than they’d wait one day for you to Reg it on 1st Jan!
A guy on the uk group just lost his car today as he is away the day of collection. They wouldn’t hold it one day for him!
Same for me..which does not suit at all. I am hoping its not accurate as website is still quoting 2023 for orders, which it was last week when i pressed the button.
At 100% charge on new Model 3 RWD display shows between 430 - 440 km for me. With my driving pattern on a long drive with motorway it gives about 380 km range
I emailed deliveryie@tesla.com for the quote.
Just checked and mine has been moved forward like others. I really wouldn’t fret over the number plate, just be happy you can get a car well within a year of ordering.
Although it sounds crazy i don't want a car this year (picked up one in March '22). I am hopeful this EDD is a mistake (I suspect it is)
Understandable since you already have one from this year. My only problem with it is I may miss out on any potential improvements for next year but there’s no guarantee there will be any changes by then anyway.
Anyone else think that how Tesla present the price here is misleading?
It would be easy to assume that the 46k price is after SEAI grant.
It’s bull.
they give you the price after savings of a couple of years not buying petrol!!! So they’re assuming you are moving from an ICE car and presenting ‘savings’ that way!!!
Have you got the full screen shot?
You missed the big purchase price icon on screen and it would have been stated many times during the process.
Tesla have a way of showing the savings over 8 years compared to an ICE, and it clearly says that in your pic.
March was also after the last price increase and on top of that you added the grey paint so unfortunately you have been caught out.
Unfortunately I don't have good news for you. I too experienced this and raised with Tesla. The amount after savings, which most people would assume is the cash price, is not actually that. The savings include fuel savings over a 5 year period. (see image below). It's obviously a marketing ploy to attract you in, get you to the point of committing and crossing a boundary. The Tesla staff are aware that it is "confusing" but I guess its at a higher level where these decisions are made.
There’s the calculations somewhere on the site.
it estimates you will save about €30 of fuel per week, which is spot on in my opinion
Details of savings calculations ..although i suspect this is of secondary importance😫
Wow - wasn't expecting this many answers so quickly. Will repost the image for anyone else reading this later.
I think it is misleading the way its presented. I spent an hour researching it and 45k seemed reasonable. The missus is trying to get me to cancel the order now!
I smiled ..as i said "a marketing ploy to attract you in, get you to the point of committing and crossing a boundary". You like many of us have crossed that boundary. Good luck on the domestic front. I do remember feeling very annoyed at this exact issue....but i got over it.
In fairness, the M3 has never been €45k!
It lists the cash price right from the outset. It then lists the after savings price which you can click to see where they get that figure from (€8k over 5 years fuel).
I can see how you got caught but I also can see it’s straight forward pricing.
Best of luck with whatever you choose but it’s worth noting if you swap now to another EV, you’ll face another long wait.
One thing is, if you cancel you loose your €250 deposit and some other lucky person will get your car 😃
I've well gotten over it - just looking forward to the car now! Next step is getting my trade in offer from Tesla. tbf I got a decent offer from them on the other car back in march.
I have sympathy and whilst I understand all points raised and have experienced them for myself ..it is selective marketing . Most people when processing and see how it is presented by Tesla would assume it is a deduction on cash price ..until they discover otherwise
Thats the right attitude. You should be excited about the car..you will love it .
Just be careful on Tradein they are valid for a defined period and depending on your delivery date may need to be refreshed. Make sure you fall within the valid timeframe and if not get it refreshed on time. It is usual to just get two weeks notice of delivery and that will leave little time to make alternative sale arrangements for your own car ...should you need to. Tesla offload all tradeins (other than Tesla cars) to the trade and that is a dynamic market. People have had positive and negative experiences on these issues so its best to be aware
Trade in quotes are valid for 60 days also g as you don’t add too much mileage. If you add 1600km, they will drop it by about €1k.
closer to the time, if it’s outside the 60 days, just ask for a refresh on the trade in price. It may go up which has happened me in the past.
Same for me - obviously a batch update...
It is unclear from what I read above - If I decline in Aug to Oct, do I get a new date again or do I lose my order and deposit?
Thanks,
Mike
you get a new date, you don't lose the deposit unless you fully cancel the order.
I've a base model 3, LFP battery (wltp 491 or 5-something with Aeros apparently)
Depending on my previous driving it'll show between 470-490 when at 100% and just unplugged form charger.
It'll obviously go down based on my driving style after that (I'm not too lead footed)
Yes, the most accurate range estimation in a Tesla is on the Energy/Trip screen, not what it says in the top corner by the battery icon.
You've literally posted an image where the most prominent price shows is €52,990, a sum that will not buy you the car in question. That's just shenanigans. How is this number supposed to be useful to a consumer? How is it anything but false advertising?
