Another division 2 team, we've been fair lucky with the draw so far :)
Saturday 25th in Croker, 6pm throw in.
6pm?
I know you are joking but this game is going to put back Cork football even more. We have realistically 0% chance of beating the Dubs unless the Dubs get food poisoned. Everyone is talking about the Kerry Dublin semi but Kerrys task is a bit harder than what Dublin have to do.
6pm is a joke. Imagine driving home to Cork after that. Staying over is too costly these days. I would have expected a small Cork crowd but there will only be a handful there now I reckon.
I remember 2019 when Dublin were at their height. We had a right cut off them and were still there around the 55 min mark before being out on their feet and conceed 3 goals I think to lose by 13 in the end. If I'm not mistaken, Cork scored more against them in that game than any other team did that year.
Dublin are not as good now as they were then. We are fitter and better conditioned now.
Not conceeding early goals á la Kildare will obviously be key. They found it hard to mark Hurley in particular that day I think and Sherlock is playing very well. If Maguire can get some ball at midfield, the likes of Powter driving on from defence, I reckon we can give them a good game, better that what they've gotten in Leinster anyway.
Slim chances of a win, but keeping it competitive for a long period of the game is the realistic target and I think we are capable of upping our game to do just that.
They should have played it in PUC as a unique occasion. Hotels in Dublin for the Saturday night are almost all north of €300.
Hopefully we can give a decent account of ourselves against Dublin.
I work with a regular first team player. They are in good form about getting to play the Dubs in Croker to bring on some of the less experienced players, and the fact that they get to play them again next season in the league. No one is expecting a win but it's a positive for the development of the squad.
What a mess.
A mess indeed. Heard from a few Glanmire folk that they were celebrating as they all thought, including the mentors, that they had won.
A point to the wrong team is an easy enough mistake to make for a ref but not sure how Douglas thought it was a draw though if the ref did indeed give the wrong team a point.
The black card offence - the player should not have been on the pitch surely at the start of ET.
Might go to the replay !
This is a do or die moment for Cork Hurling. We need to beat Galway badly and get that monkey off our back since 2008. If Galway turn up we will have a major battle but just hoping that Cork win and learn something from the game.
Embarrassing
Long way to go but shooting is way off so far
This feels like a challenge match.
Dare I say it, Cahalane doing very well.
The wides are killing us, 7 in 20 minutes.
Game is there to be won. We are creating chances but that 6 point gift from Collins could be the difference in the end.
Has to be said this is a poor standard. Hard to see either team going much further.
Bring on Horgan ffs.
Lehane playing like he always does when the chips are down.
We can still win this, but defensively we are a very poor team. We haven't had a dominant half back line, since the days of Gardiner Curran and O hAilpin. That has a lot to do with our problems imo.
We need to lift it imo. We're staring down the barrel of a fifth straight championship exit to Galway.
What a poor standard and shocking wides by Cork. The crowd is very muted also - dead atmosphere.
Crowd was always going to be muted , this match shouldnt be on a Saturday and at 1.45pm.
Idiotic scheduling by the GAA.
Dreadful match .
Only 5 down. Reckon we will win this.
Five points down at half time, that was a poor first half performance. We need a big second half now.
So you're saying there's a chance ?
Galway haven't been that great either. Hopefully Cork can grab the bull by the horns in the second half.
Bang we needed that goal!
Galway are ahead by four points again.
Great point by Robbie O'Flynn there, down to three points now.
Galway always seem to answer us, they're up by four again.
