Terrible loss of life, but to me clearly self defense.
I'm very relieved for the accused.
Hugs and amenities. That's the solution.
How about prison or community service?
I would love to know how all the people thinking he should have been found guilty would have reacted.
When your life is in danger, you will do whatever it takes to survive.
Well they would have kept beating them, probably until they were bored. I’m sure their Mammys would say their little angels would have got bored before they had meted out brain damage or death but who knows.
As is, they messed with the wrong two lads this time and they met resistance they didn’t bargain for. Jumping lads you outnumber for no reason is scumbaggery. Knocking a man to the ground and kicking him when he lies there is scumbaggery. Josh Dunne and his mates may not have been scumbags but they sure were acting like ones. They deserved whatever was coming to them in that moment, and it was their decision to initiate a dangerous physical conflict.
I accept without reservation that those two Brazilian men feared for their lives in that moment. And one of them had the physical strength and means to make sure they both walked out of there. Clearly the jury with access to the CCTV fully agreed with that.
If you want to physically assault a man or a group of men you deserve whatever you are met with in return imo. And yes, in that moment it is about who is the stronger person, who can take it to that place that ensures their survival. That group of young lads bit off more than they could chew, quite obviously. No sympathy for them whatsoever.
Ah yes, amenities.
The lad who died travelled from Ballymun. Outside the 2k zone at the time. And chose to go to an area that had been all over the news at the time for the hassle that was going on. Innocents all.
It genuinely baffles me how people continue to show just how poor their knowledge of the justice system is.
This is the classic of example of how it works. Ideally he wouldn't have been on remand for 18 months but he admitted killing the lad and he clearly had a case to answer. The case was answered and he was acquitted by a jury of his peers, unanimously.
What did i say.
Ah right , well to be honest its an absolute MASSIVE jump from broken nose and teeth to death.
That's wrong on so many levels.
Deliveroo drivers were/are not dealing drugs. Most are honest hard working students trying to earn a living.
Some rickshaw are approached by gangs to deal drugs and get a cut of the profits. This are very low level stuff that its not even worth the garda's time to arrest them.
In Brazil, the public stay away from the street kids, if they come to rob them, they give them whatever they want. I think this thing with brazillian deliveroo drivers and youth gangs goes abit deeper. Before these drivers were also delivering drugs, the other drug dealers in the area didnt like that because they were taking business away from them so they would get the youths to hassle them. The bigger problem in society is how to do we deal with these youth gangs, there needs to better amenities in their area, better social care because the only chance you have of changing these things is when they are young. Another dangerous thing from this, is that carrying knives becomes normalised, as a form of self defense.
For a long time now I've been of the opinion that it is only a matter of when, not if, one of these "little angles" gets killed by some fed up citizen, and I won't be surprised if it happens more frequently as conditions in these areas worsen.
lol
It’s not that hard to see one of the men, that were attacked unprovoked by the gang, ending up dead. They already broke his nose and teeth before they were repelled.
Even though a teen from that area murdered an innocent woman. Ferals are gonna feral.
Ya you're right, he should have waited until he was getting his head kicked in before defending himself, just so he can be sure. There are no limits when you are being attacked, a scuffle can easily lead to a life being taken very quickly. In a situation like that, I would use any means to protect myself every time. It's a waste a young life has been lost, but **** choices come with **** consequences, no sympathy.
Not as weak as your own to be fair. I think its a bit hyperbolic to suggest the teens would have beat the two of them to death.
Weak response tbh.
So a teen on his own? Could have been deranged. So no examples then? When have a group of teens from eastwall beat to death 2 innocent men?
This is the same week and same area a woman leaving work had her throat slit by a 15 year old.
Hang on a sec? He went with a knife to to try get someone elses bike back??? **** hell
There’s plenty of examples of people being killed by feral young men for no real reason.
Carrying a knife is not a criminal offence provided none of its features are illegal. Carrying a knife without a lawful reason is.
These boys are little knackers , however theres not many examples of them beating 2 people to death is there? Save me your hyperbolic nonsense.
Yet another is that a scrote died when trying to attack someone, who is just out trying to earn a living.
His actions of self-defence means Ireland is probably 200+ future convictions better off.
See? I can frame the narrative to suit an agenda as well
Yes that was an option, correct result I hope he can move on with his life.
Wasn't he also aquitted of manslaughter?
anyway, why do you have a knife in the boot of your car? is their lime and a shovel in there
Those delivery men work tough jobs, with bad conditions. And are in constant fear of being attacked by groups of scumbags in certain areas.
It makes sense that people will side with them, over a gang of men who outnumber and attack softer targets.
They should not have got involved, especially with the wrong side in the altercation.
That would be quite a waste of money if I can't take it out of the toolbox. Unless something is small enough to fit into the toolbox with everything else removed and I can keep the whole process within the confines of the box.
anyway, as long as they stay in your toolbox or in the kitchen its all kosher, I presume you can tell the difference between that and carrying one around on you for no good reason or as defense
This has gone a bit steven segal all of a sudden
if I decide to attack a bunch of chefs in a kitchen I'll make sure to call him first
