I'd say when lads were ordering them last year the dealers weren't able to quote prices because of the increasing cost of steel. They could have worked out 10k more than planned by the time the tank was ready. Easier stick with the contractor then.
Finance companies are really tightening up on credit is alot of it, neighbour beside us was going putting in 2 robots, 250k was the amount, would be carrying a nice bit of debt per cow but would have a good credit history, he went to go in-house finance with lely and was refused
Or possibly not borrowing the money going into debt
After how long or how many hours do people here service their machinery. I do it around Sept every year when things calm down, machinery wouldn't be doing big hours here
Service here every 500 hours or so. Tractor will really let ya know when it wants some attention
Service interval on yours would be a 600hr interval unless the dct box needs it sooner?
Never let it get to that. She started burning oil about 50hrs ago so I'm servicing it now at 500hrs. Depends on the work it does. The gearbox oil gets changed every Dec as a precaution.
Mine has 450ish hours on her now and no sign of burning oil yet. Electrocommand box. Not overworked either
Well mine today did 8 hours of powerharrow and 2hrs of raking. Did 12 hours of discing Sunday. Heavier work I suppose
Tis probably a t6.160 you needed really to get into the 6 pots at that kind of work?
Main tractor around the 500 hour mark, usually before it during a quiet time. Will actually be heading off shortly for a service. Machines done yearly but that's just maintenance usually and fix anything that's broken. Usually before they are put away for the winter. Other tractors (the ones that do diddly squat) is every few years
Not at all she's well able. It's just I find the 600hr interval too long between Services
So far do good. Heavier platform which is what I needed. Dynamic command is nice and hard to beat the front suspension. Having most of the controls on the gearstick is handy for the cultivation work.
Will u stay nh or go back to landini?
I'd say this girl will do a while but ya wouldn't know what I'd end up doing. She's going up the hours already
wha
what is it like on fuel?..im looking to replace a massey ferguson 5610 next year with something a bit more comfortable and solid
Doesn't seem terribly bad. Neighbour has all 6 pots and she is def lighter on juice than them girls. He has a 6070, TM 155 and T6 165.
What are soft hands handler like? Disadvantages? Would you have any problems putting a bale on top of a bale on a bale trailer?
Have em, don't like them. Bale sometimes slip and hard to stack trailers or unload
I have a 155 and find she's not easy on the stuff
It all depends on what way you want to stack your bales. We have all of them here, static handlers, roller type like yours, soft hands and elephant trunk.
If you want the bales standing on their ends then the soft hands is the best for that. If you leave the bales on their round then there’s nothing to come close to the elephant trunk for speed and it’s almost impossible to rip a bale. I stack all my own 3 high that way for years and never have any bad silage out of it no matter what type of grass was baled.
We have customers we stack for that want them standing on their ends so we use then soft hands for that and it’s slow and awkward compared to the trunk. I don’t like standing them that way because if they sag any bit you have air pockets under the polythene and can have mouldy silage. When stacked on their round even low dm silage will have no waste as when they sag they sit into one another and the bottom bale will be diamond shaped when feeding out in the winter but will have no waste as it would have been compacted from all sides like a pit.
Some come with a check valve to keep the pressure on. I don't have myself but the elephant trunks are popular with lads using trailers for drawing bales.
Really? Slip for what reason and in what position? When the bale is in the "up" position?
Anyone else have this issue? Would people advise not to carry bales with these handers on the road then?
The roller type are good enough for every farmer ,you can use them for stacking ,piercing bales of hay/straw ,feeding out in winter and as pallet forks .A local contractor has a couple of quicke flexibal roller type and he has drawn and stacked 10s of thousands of bales with no issue
I agree A big heavy bale out front is not ideal. A burst pipe could capsize you on a road
So your saying better if the bales is stacked on the round part facing the ground and in the air for quality?
Maybe not the most appropriate place to post this but, a few months ago, on my (new to me) 161 Landcruiser, a while after refueling I suddenly got a door open sensor, which no amount of opening and shutting of the 5 doors would turn off. Eventually, after a day's annoyance of beeping, I noticed the rear door window hatch was open which, when closed, solved the issue. Same thing happened today, immediately again after refueling. It seems opening the fuel flap must have triggered this, (though doesn't happen always). Another problem a mate of mine had with one was the low tyre pressure warning was lit constantly, in spite of having all 4 tyres inflated correctly. Turns out, the spare tyre had gone soft, which still has some wired or wireless sensor on it.
Anyone else experience the likes of these?
Anyone here bought any contrac equipment? Have ground taken that'll need a bit of mulching but may need some ongoing maintenance in that regard as well. To do it right anyone hired in will be by the hour and will be slow going so thinking of seeing what's out there that we could tip away at ourselves
seem to be targeting contractors and stealing multiple GPS systems in one visit
It's very suspicious that the thieves know exactly about the systems and where they are.
Such as those John Deere systems that seem to be particularly targeted. It's like the thieves have hacked into some main web system or else some dealerships who have this info on click, some worker is selling the info.
It was a big thing in the UK few years back. But since Brexit and borders closing it looks to have driven the thieves to target here.
