War correspondents relay information to people who can then build a full picture of what's going on.

Germany
The insight *is* the bigger picture. A war correspondent can only tell you a tiny piece of the overall picture from where they're standing in an often chaotic environment. The conclusions about the course of the war are drawn elsewhere from multiple sources, e.g. Professor Michael Clark on Sky News. Simple.
I wouldn't be holding my breath on the going broke part. Reports of them running out of financing for the war and having to default on debts has been around since the war's earliest days, and here they still are.
Germany speaks for the collective "West".
If that's not an official declaration of marriage to Putin I don't know what is.
This whole side thread was kicked off because you said insights are difficult away from the front line, but they're really perfectly possible, as @shivaz pointed out.
Every non German politician in the EU at this point should be under no illusion that the upper politic in Germany has been severely compromised.
My insight into you and your posts are that you are a pro russian poster.Your posts are like pop up adds that promote Russian shelling and you have been made aware of how you are coming across by other posters so it seems you are purposely promoting the Russian war machine
Insights about the course of the war are much more possible away from the front lines than at them. I'll agree to that.
To be fair to HG, the "insights away from the front line" retort was in response to a criticism from @shivaz
you are wrong...i typically post information provided by the General Staff of Armed Forces of Ukraine to keep you informed for example:
Ukrainian military repelled assaults near Vrubivka, Mykolaivka and Vasylivka, - General Staff of Armed Forces of Ukraine says in the morning report
Your small bite sized comments like "how much more shelling can they take?" or "is it time to retreat?" is where your pro-russian face is showing. You don't fool me with your excuse
how much more shelling can Russia take?
This is disputed though. Some observers have pointed out that these Germany-Spain claims are based on second hand information from an obscure article in the Spanish press and appear to contain a lot of speculation and misinformation.
No, Russia.
Germany is just following orders.
Are you a Russian 5th columnist trying to turn people off supporting the Ukraine with your accusatory attitude?
After surviving 3 month of the worst atrocities committed by questionable humans on its neighbour
Outgunned & rebuffed with attempts to be over run I think/hope a new western equipped force is being readied to stop this Peter the great nut job.
Time is not on Ukraines side as well as fighters it has civil casualties refugees while Russia has only dead/wounded soldiers and even Russians don't care about them.
Russia must be pushed back to its borders and treated as an equally sanctioned NK until it proves its civilized, pay for the war damage and give up nukes.
That's a big list of requests , nice ideas but not really enforceable... How do you get nukes off a nuclear power ? Especially after ukraines experience...
No bigmacs till they comply
Add war crimes tribunal to list
It will take a united western world challenge to rehabilitation orcas into society kremlin must be dismantled or leveled
As is. The Western response is disunity and indifference.
It's just America, Eastern Europe and England.
War outcome could come down to river crossings on the Siverskyy Donets river suggests the UK MoD.
A reminder of the great russian army ambition after the first "conquer Kiev" plan failed.
The small area of Severodonetsk has bled the Russians of huge resources and still no pincer completed move yet.Russia had to blow the bridge that they need to end this siege but the fight goes on.A big eye opener into the Russian army and how it is not a modern fighting force just a bully to smaller countries
Some excellent news from yesterday
Another day another fire in Russia. Lol
Welcome to Ukraine!
The war is turning modern in favour of Ukraine.Ukraine will need less ammo to take out targets which makes logistics easier.
The PZH 2000 is supposed to enter the battle next monday, unless scholz does another uturn.
Regarding the change of tone,Zelensky is walking a thin line and he is doing it very well.He was born to do this but he didn't know it nor did anyone.
Too much winning from Ukraine and we get Macron and Scholz worried and too much losing is bad for morale. There are many aspects to war and I think Ukraine are playing a great game with the hand of cards that they have and we have seen Russia can only play snap.
