Heard rumors a while back, that it would become a Mr. Price or Dealz. I'd say you're on the money there
Forever Me Cosmetics in the Galway Shopping Centre on Headford rd has closed. Noticed it was shut yesterday and it has a sign in the window so hope i didn't miss a sale.
I had wondered why Lush had never opened in a place with a large student population like Galway. & if this place has too small a turnover I wonder if the same would have applied. Lush seemed to be more expensive too. But I assume would have been catering to the same market/audience whatever.
PP given for restaurant and pub on ground floors of apartment block on the Distributor Road.
It's been closed for a week or so. I saw the sign last weekend, but i did not have a camera with me
That will be a change for the Ballymoneen area to have such a facility on the doorstep.
It's not that far too Sheridan's
True - but only 1 pub for whole Knocknacarra area; considering population (the highest 1 square km in Galway City is right here). I say it will do well. Would be great to see Kelehans open again in Dangan/Bushypark
Considering the variety of cultures that live out there these days, a licensed premises might not do as well as people might think.
Fairly sure Kelehans was recently purchased with a view to becoming a pub/restaurant again. Open to correction.
In the sense of dedicated pub, you’re right, but the Clybaun Hotel has a bar as well.
In general, the area is woefully underserved in terms of facilities. The big retailers are there, but there’s not much else considering the population.
Perhaps the people who moved there like it that way.
I know many people there who live in the area will welcome dining facilities within walking distance of where they live! Will it ever have a village centre feel to it though? Knocknacarra?
Pizza place going in apparently
I heard there had been some announcement by Taaffe's the pub next door re Griffin's premises. But hadn't heard the announcement.
Have just been hoping that the facilities from the previous residents might be of use to somebody which would mean some good products resultingl. So wonder if their bakery is something of use to a pizzeria per se. Or at least with a little adjustment.
It's been gutted back to the stone walls, according to a friend who saw inside the open door one day.
can't find a bus thread. Does a bus stop breaking count as a business franchise closing. I dunno.
Would like to know when this bus stop came from cos I don't think this stop was on the older 9 route. Only came into business when the 9 route went to 2 directions which would be late 00ies and has been rusted through for years.
Perfect Fit, kids shoe shop, downstairs in Corbett Court had closed. To be replaced by a place selling those nonsense crystal things.
New barber shop on Bothar Irwin, opposite side door to M&S.
It's "Roches Stores" and it always will be. 😋
What is?
M&S/Debenhams/SportsDirect building. Roches were the original tenant. They were an Irish company that sold to Debenhams in the 00's.

Kawa asian eaterie opened on Newcastle Road https://www.kawathai.ie/?l=en
Yeah, and the relevance to any recent post in this thread is????
I assume he was making a joke about Ben using "M&S" as a reference point.
that credit union in galway shopping center closed and for a long time too as place is completely gutted.
They moved to Eyre Square at the start of May.
Where in Eyre Square?
Warehouse Gym Knocknacarra opening June 20th
anyone know what the dela is with Aldi in Athenry, since turning the sod last November the site has had very little done with it
Can’t speak to what’s going on in Athenry, but Aldi are currently busy building new stores in both Tuam and Mountbellew. I’d wager that Athenry will start after these.
24 Eyre Square, Galway.
Looking back at thier social media, they are only showing three branchs (Oranmore, Mervue, & Eyre Square) since sometime in 2020.
