Looks like photos from a Netflix 70's serial killer show....
Bedroom 1 off bedroom 2, the suggestion that bedroom 4 would make a good office, no, bedroom 2 would make a better office. Ideally a playroom off the childrens' room, but as a bedroom? Bit of a mess. (it appears to be a gym in the pics). Utility room off a sitting room? Why not make that sitting room the kitchen with utility off, and turn the other big room into a through living room. Stairs in the dining room. Ideally placed for 4 year old to come down while dinner party is on and sit on the stairs being persistent. In fairness my dining room has the stairs in it too, but its not a 700k house, and its really not a problem either. Not keen on the furnishings but basically a nice house.

"THIS PROPERTY HAS CONFIRMED PYRITE, REMEDATION WORKS INCOMPLETE

REA Grimes are delighted to present to the market No 18 Chapel Farm Terrace."
I've never bid on a house at auction before but there seems like lots of terms and conditions attached to this sale:
"viewings not available" - well duh, there's no floor upstairs. Not the most salubrious area of Belfast either so I think they'll be doing well to get 30k for that hovel.
There's something very odd about those photos. Very low resolution camera and an old CRT television in the sitting room give off an early 21st century vibe.
If you check the wall of the end of the terrace, you should be able to work out which "security force" operates in the area.
Private sale by the owner,
she probably used the photos used when she bought it .
Owner would be well advised to hire a photographer. Couple of hundred euro outlay could get a few grand extra. Who'd make an offer on it based on those pics?
In fairness, you wouldn't be making an offer based on pictures from the internet.
They might miss out on a couple of viewings, but if you were basing your viewings on pictures from the internet, you'd be a fool as well.
Athlone has now been annexed and is part of Dublin 8
Sure it's only an hour away.
* an hour is dependent on zero traffic and your car travelling at the maximum legal speed for the entire duration of the journey.

*Only* 1.5 hours on the train, each way
5 times a week, for the rest of your life 😶
No. Only for two months. Then you're back on the street again.
Makes perfect sense really. According to Wikipedia:
In the 1970s it was proposed in the Republican Éire Nua programme to make Athlone the capital of a federal United Ireland.
Under Éire Nua, Ireland would become a federal state with parliaments for each of its four historic provinces, as well as a central parliament based in Athlone.
So if the Shinners win the next election, every chance you could eventually end up walking to work...
€160,000 for a 2 bed house in the middle of nowhere and it's in bits. It used to look like this (Streetview Aug 2009)
But this is what it looks like now
The bould Gerry again
That is one hell of a rip off.
Only if someone pays it. I hope it stays fine for them!
And its gone!
Still there for me - https://www.daft.ie/for-sale/detached-house-cloonsheerevagh-carrick-on-shannon-co-leitrim/3928276
A 2-bed house in Dublin 8 for only €150k you say??
Oh.
"The property is not suitable for a mortgage." Oh is right.
That Kilmainham house is derelict and needs to be gutted, but I'd say it will go for a lot more than €150k at auction.
Ironically advert itself is one of the best I've ever seen. No BS at all and they even went to the effort of including a floor-plan.
You are right, it comes up with a 'this property is no longer available sticker, but if you scroll down its there. Your link goes straight to it.
With the price of electricity only going one way, i wonder would you run the house from the mill wheel.
Pretty sure its a flood risk as well
That terraced house is very tiny! And it does not have a bathroom, at all. You would have to build out the back, but the yard is so small it might not be possible. I wonder why they put new double glazing into such a derelict house? Maybe to just stop people breaking in.
I think it's on a fair bit of a height above the river, so probably not so much as a lot of houses in that area.
Interesting that both it and its neighbour have new roofs, new windows and have been repointed - I wonder what prompted selling one at a bargain basement auction?
I think they might have relisted it, I got a second email alert for it overnight
