New thread for the new season
Heard Lansdowne are recruiting heavily for their 150 year anniversary.
Mass exodus from Belvo it would appear. Ryan McMahon moving from to UCD. John McKee and Marcus Hannan to Nure. Colm Hogan returning to Trinity. A number of players following Ray Monahan to Malahide.
James Connolly returning to Naas.
Any more transfer news/rumours circulating?
Mike harding new head coach of corinthians
First time not starting this thread in a long time.....
Sorry duplicated post for some reason
Great stuff. Thanks for all the updates on club recruitment.
Keep the player transfers coming!
Michael O'Kennedy from Trinity to Belvo.
Rueben Pim from Trinity to New Orleans (MLR).
Cathal Marsh retiring.
Oops sorry !
Think Jack Keating leaving Belvo also
Sean French & Alex McHenry confirmed going to England will be a bit of a blow to Con on top of Crowley getting more game time at Munster hopefully
Denis Fogarty said a number of Con players are retiring
Yeah strong rumours of him going to Tarf
A bit of talk of transfers in Ulster.
Hinch have a good few in, Conor McKee and George Saunderson (QUB), Ben Moxham (BMena), Ronan McCusker (Rainey), Clayton Milligan (Malone) and Jake Flannery, talk that Zac Ward will play club rugby rather than 7’s next year which would be a huge boost for them.
James Wright (BMena) and Jack Boal (Quins) to Queens, Aidan McSwiggan back to Rainey from Malone.
James McCormick (BMena) to Armagh and James Humphreys (QUB) to Banbridge.
Tim Barker the new head coach at Rainey.
Dean Moore Belvo Lock to Malahide
Buccaneers have gotten rid of their coaches Kolo Kiripati and Henry Bryce
Have heard this is now off the cards.
Rumoured that Cormac Daly has earned himself a development contract with Leinster. Huge congrats if true.
The amount of money Leinster seem to have to throw at AIL players for development contracts is ridiculous. Do we know how many players currently have one?
DeWald Bernard our South African prop is going to Wicklow.
Fair play to him if that’s true. Shows that it’s never too late to get an opportunity.
Vey strange move by Buccs after they got them back to 1B and won a Connacht Senior Cup.
Very harsh. Must be more to it than meets the eye.
Heard David Whitten the Queens captain could be going to Instonians
Ronan McCusker also staying at Rainey Old Boys
Great coup for Instonians if true, Whitten is fantastic.
Navan's South African no.8 rumoured to be transferring to Naas. Marcus Kiely returning to Naas from Trinity.
That Navan 8 was meant to be good
Good to hear Marcus Kiely is going to be back playing again - he picked up a really bad injury when Trinity played Lansdowne in Trinity
I heard the injury was so bad he was going to have to pack it in
Yea had heard the same. Hopefully we are both wrong
Believe Terenure have recruited a 10 - not sure of name though
Haven't heard anything other than Cathal Marsh neededing to be replaced.c
Promotion/Relegation back to the Pre COVID ways with 1st going up and last going down, and 2nd,3rd and 4th in a playoff v 9th of the league above.
Although obviously no impact to us in 1A, feels the fairest, if you top a league you deserve to go up, not run the risk of being caught out on a off day in a one off game.
Info on League
If you're Wesley, Queens and Greystones you would be quite rightly fuming at this.
Have maintained from the start that last year's system was completely unfair.
Couldn't agree more. You come top after 18 games you deserve to go up. Especially seen as I don't think either of Wesley or Queens could have been caught etc so Covid games had no impact.
What's done is done I suppose.
Any other transfer gossip?
But if those teams that finished top of their leagues and then cannot win a playoff semi-final in there home ground, then what business have they in the league above them, harsh i know for topping the table, but playoffs make the league what it is.
From Tipp clubs from what i heard - James Kendrick came back to Cashel, Dylan Murphy went to Nenagh, Nenagh signed a few from Limerick clubs also. Clonmel i haven't heard much only keatley gone to Ul Bohs.
Cork clubs - Cons lost Jj o Neill to garryowen, Mchenry and french to UK, jermyn finished i heard, they signed James french and jack Sullivan from UCC. Highfield lost there backrow - o sullivan to Young Munster
Journal.ie reporting that Eddie O'Sullivan is the new buccs head coach.
