The germans really are proving themselves to be a useless shower of fuckers.
It takes a lot of effort and planning to make sure that nothing ever gets delivered to Ukraine despite constantly promising more.
ScholZ is earning his rubles.
It's not impossible that the equipment is genuinely borked. The German military has been ridiculously underfunded for years, and was well known to have difficulty in putting together even small units with equipment that worked.
True but they should have assessed the equipment before promising it.
It's good propaganda, promise all the stuff you know they can't/won't deliver. That causes good headlines and they outweight the bad ones when he backtracks.
We've had the Flakpanzer Gepard AA's promised..... oh but there's no ammo because that's supplied by Switzerland and they won't allow it to be exported.
Then we have Germany agreeing to send tanks to Greece so Greece can give BMP's to Ukraine.... oh but they won't be delivered until god know's when.
He's promising **** he know he can't or wont be able to deliver.
I know it's unfair to call out Germany or the German public, it solely rest's with SScholtZ.
..
Would make one wonder is there phone calls between the two along the lines of "supply arms to Ukraine, say goodbye to your gas"
On that very subject...
Can anyone explain the logic of declaring publicAlly what weapons are being delivered to the Ukraine by the west……daily we hear Biden etc say this type of missile with x km range is in its way etc etc…..is this just not ‘poking the bear’……you then get the ratarded retorts from the fcuk-wit Russians…..statements laden with nuclear threats…….is it all just a load of hot air from both sides and in reality very little if any of the fancy weapons actually make their way to Ukraine front lines….??
Well I think the US has to be public with weapons transfers, I think it's law. Not sure about all the other countries.
Not sure why the Germans keep promising stuff and then backtracking. They are coming out worse than the Russians in this while episode.
The germans should be thankful this isn't a NATO involved thing, they haven't the capacity to contribute anything to anyone. If they were to come under attack, they would fall apart. Hell the Irish army could probably invade Germany now.
Load of shìte. You can do a software update on even the most complex pieces of equipment in under 30mins. They arent even bothered to come up with a good excuse.
So it only uses «german» missiles from a system produced in the USA,and being a NATO country where everything is suppose to be shared amongst member countries, including ammo and missiles.
Dumbest thing i have ever heard
As a German I do take issue with that. The government may be a useless shower of fcuks, but can we please stop throwing around Nazi every two seconds. It's really lost all meaning by now. I don't throw out "drunken Paddies" remarks every second post.
Prof Michael Clark's explanation was that Russian intelligence would know what was coming into Ukraine and what their approximate capabilities would be, so it made sense for western countries to at least get the PR/Political benefit of announcing all this great stuff they're giving to help Ukraine.
Thats a good point. How can a country who relies on being a member of NATO for security openly demostrate that it has no capability to either defend itself or help a fellow NATO country in the event of an attack upon that allie. Apart from having all those US bases there must be serious questions being asked by other members about how solid this organisation actually is.
The French have weapons but will only send pittance whilst at the same time pandering to NATO's number one threat and Germany claims to have nothing bar some broken stuff down the back of the shed which no-one looked at in years. Do they expect everyone else to protect them if push came to shove despite showing no will or capability to do the same in return.
This is spot on.
All the senior leadership of Russia and its militarily have been Communist party members.
There troops are putting up statues of Lenin and fly the Red flag.
The Soviet rule of Ukraine was one of the most murderous rules any where in history, from its first day.
Ukraines proably aren't that accuarate either, it really looks like they're getting pummuled, Zelenskyy is in a no win situation and from the sounds of him he doesn't want to lose more people, what's stopping any negotions?
Sorry if you took offence but you know that’s not what I actually meant.
But Germany’s mask has definitely slipped a little.
9 billion paid to Russia since the start of the invasion.
All while trying to not annoy Putin too much and appease him.
Germany has a large arms industry I believe?
Which is being held back from supply which is frankly fairly odd in itself.
There's too many pieces to the jigsaw at this point and it all points back to the German government. There's serious rot there. Very serious rot.
Correct. Rheinmetall had a turnover of 5.6 billion Euro last year.

I doubt that customers would be paying that amount of money if they had to wait 6 months for critical software updates.
“When you have eliminated all which is impossible, then whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.”
Does anyone have a plausible explanation for Germany's disingenuous prevarication about sending weapons to Ukraine. Many criticise Ireland, me included, but at least we've been consistent from the outset saying, no we're not sending arms. How many times has Germany announced they will send arms and then come out with a "dog ate my homework" level of excuse and do nothing?
The only explanation I have for it all is that many German politicians have been compromised by Russia for decades. Schroeder was compromised in the old fashioned way, lots and lots of money. Merkel was compromised but didn't even realise it god love her, and she's still in denial about it. Scholz is appearing more Lukaschenko-like every week with his buffoonery.
If Ukraine loses this war my next job is suicide bomber. (relax, joke)
It has long been said that Russia has something on Trump.
Looks like the same may be true of someone (or ones) in the German government.
There has been a lot of talk about the FSB putting dirty dossiers together on people around the world. About 10 years ago I recall reading in a US paper that Hollywood actors and a few big sporting charters were been strong-armed into being 'Putinlites' or faced having certain information released to the media. A lot of med-est wealthy types from the Arab states are supposably in a similar sticky wicket.
Should have let Germanys banks burn to the ground back in 2008
Would have been worth it
the Russian's only left Berlin in 1994.... so you still have a lot of people who would consider themselves 1st and 2nd generation Russian in the old East German regions....
while they won't admit it publicly, I reckon there is a lot more sympathy for Russia there than what they like to let on....
shelling from both sides starts forest fire
I don't know what the french have sent overall - and I think Macron has made a Pratt of himself , but I think the french have sent 16 or 18 Ceasar mounted howitzer systems WITH the fancy targeting system , the Ukrainians seemed very keen on them ... ( Whether they're all delivered yet I don't know , but the first 4 were sending rounds down range about a month ago ) ..
There was a good case the thread should have been renamed "USA" back in December of last year with all the wailing about how Russia was being provoked and cornered by NATO + Joe Biden trying to stir up a wag the dog conflict, and even if they did invade Ukraine well the US did it in Iraq back in 2003 and noone really punished them for it.
Maybe should be called "Germany" now reading the last couple of pages. A real whiff of the old/stale "2 WWs and 1 World Cup" off some of the silly posts about pro Russia "Nazis" in Germany (+ they haven't gone away you know!).
Well , I suppose it depends on wether you've done the programming yet .. but it definitely doesn't sound like they're doing a rush job ...( It's prob not an off the shelf upgrade ,and if computer hardware needs upgrading too ..? )
Or
Is this a case of promise weapons for the future while filling the gas stores this summer ?
Or more of a hope it all gets back to normal real soon. ..
