While I've no doubt the figures quoted by the caller are wrong (and Joe Duffy needs no invitation to sensationalise) when I say I refuse to vote for any party that's been in government for the past 25 years one of the black marks beside both FG & Labour is "I don't vote for parties that steal from my pension". It's not top of the list but it's there alright
Rather than calling them idiots maybe the message is lost from government?
Jesus, could you imagine?
Good man Darragh
Anything but this government, its polices, shanenigans and incompetence, its seems 😉
Which is all on topic - the effects of government action on the electorate.
What was it you wanted to talk about?
My sincerest and humblest apologies 😉
Looking forward to Minister for Justice comments on the release of a particularly nasty individual after only 5 years imprisonment. Such are the horrific details of this individuals crimes, I'll leave it to others to search.
Law and order party, my backside 😡
Wasn't referring to you 😁 I edited post, meant to post elsewhere, hit the 'followed threads' by accident and posted.
The government is, but apparently, we are doing a live stream comment section of radio programmes given the latter content appears to be in short supply.
Not quite, just reminding our Pensions expert, the story I raised hasn't gone away 😉
hmmm. Leaves original tweet and deletes converstaion about further harrassment? Doesn't make much sense.
But anyway, he isn't the story, FG are.
Enjoyed the Live line today, 45 minutes of pensioners, pensions expert and indeed host giving it to Paschal the Rascal, "Rob Paul to pay Paschal" 😂😂
30 minutes on the ongoing and quite farcical debacle at Dublin Airport and DAA 😉
Gold! and only 3/400k listening 😉
Have you a link to this case against Tony , id be very interested in a read?
P.S. He must be gonna fight the 'defamation case' as the tweet is still there. 😁
Any links to this 'story' as it isn't coming up on a google search.
If you saw the Tweets, you will see the story.
Not the first time he got himself in hot water with Tweets afaik. There is an air of Paddy Cosgrove about him.
So Fine Gael didn't have to disband a whatsapp group because somebody said something 'inappropriate'?
Hmmm, I'm willing to wager that is not actually what happened, given your thundering mixup yesterday.
Maybe we should have FG Ministers helping pack luggage?
After the last few rounds of opinion polls, I dare say you are completely accurate with your assessment about FG TDs shaking in their boots.
Might even be fair to say 4/5 of them are, but most likely the pension levy is the least of their worries.
"Gathers at a pace"
Another porky..
Actually, the % of new units underway that is BTR is less than it was a year ago, meaning BTR are decreasing as a method of housing, not 'gathering pace' as you said.
I'm outraged, Joe.
As an aside, that dude Tony Groves has gotten himself in hot water of the weekend, claiming there is a Garda investigation because someone is stalking him. He named the person publicly on Twitter and is now the subject of a defamation case, apparently.
He comes across as a bit of a lunatic tbh.
Round two of idiots getting the basics wrong.
Poor old Paschal the Rascal getting a lashing over the pension levy, he released a statement which caused further annoyance, Joe Duffy discribing the statement as Hillarious 😁
We've no money for anything that benefits the public, unless there's a few bob in it for the boys.
Here's the 'free speech' they claim to be worried about.
Imagine people like him having power?
Gosh, you would have to wonder how 'inappropriate' it was if they had
to cancel the whole group.
Indeed, governments cunning plan of Build to Rent continues at pace, Builders getting cheap sites, Subsidised for building, Investment funds getting Tax Breaks, Tenants possibly getting HAP, it all makes perfect sense 🙄
Meanwhile don't worry about that troublesome Generation who aspire to actually own their own home.
On often gifted state land to subsidised builders, who then lease, rent and sell to the state for tenants who need to be subsidised.
The missing millions from private pensions featuring again today on da live line 😉 1.45 to 3.00 pm
housing will bury this government yet there's building going on everywhere
