I'll take your word for it that they're tasty, but I cannot imagine what quality of meat would allow you to make a pie and sell it for 99c 😱
I know but I'm good at ignoring things like that!!!
Had the beef brisket pie yesterday - very nice
Thanks for the steak and kidney tip - will definitely go back and see if they have these.
When do the chilli burgers usually come back into stock?
Pork
Asparagus

The Gloomster!
fish and great beans been on a diet since january.
Feck, that's them out then. Coeliac house except myself :(
Actually, saw the ingredients on link shared on late post. Only maize flour used, so if they come back in on all over them
i meant green beans lol.
Finally remembered to look out for the Mala Black Garlic & Peanut Rayu after seeing it recommended here. Sorry I didn't get it months ago it's delicious.
I tried their ice cream mochi on Saturday, and they are the most delicious thing I've had in a long, long time. I had the coconut ones.
They're a bit pricey for what Aldi usually does, at over €4, but SO worth it!
The mango ones are my fave but yeah €4.99 means an occasional treat!
I'm a huge fan of Aldi and shop there pretty much every week. But I wanted to post on changes to products that make them noticeably worse.
The main one I have noticed is their line of biscuits. Just had a Jaffa cake and it was horrible. A few weeks ago I bought the real deal in Tesco. The kids actually gave out saying the Aldi ones were nicer and I agreed.
Well not anymore. Hopefully I just bought a dud box. But expecting not. A few years ago they totally changed the recipes for their bourbon creams and dark chocolate digestives. Never bought them ever again.
Same with their sweets. Quality of a lot of them has worsened over the years.
And the sausages in recent months.
Personally would prefer a small price increase.
Interested in other people's views.
I wonder, with the inevitable price increases across the board for foodstuffs, will Aldi switch suppliers or insist they have to keep pricing steady, even if it means reducing quality?
Have had similar thoughts myself... would prefer price increase or size reduction at least it would still be same product
Agreed, and it's not highlighted that there's been a change of supplier or change of ingredients. You have to buy the product, be disappointed by the taste, perhaps buy again, another batch just to be sure, leaves a bad taste in the mouth.
Sometimes they do say stuff like "New improved Recipe" etc.
Sadly these days, that probably means they have replaced an ingredient for something cheaper.
Another frustrating thing about Aldi is the rotation of products. Eg. Those delicious seasoned Lamb burgers mentioned earlier, the potato sides (Spanish, Bombay etc ) etc. etc.
Just when you find something you love, they pull the product, never to be seen again.
But on the whole Lidl/Aldi still great value next to Dunnes...and Tesco.
Caramelised red onion relish (comes in a jar) - Amazing on beef burgers 😍
They have vegetable spring rolls in the freezer that are as good as any I've had from a take away. Granted that might not be saying much, but I think they're delicious.
Same happened to the fresh fish medley bake, I bought it at least once and often twice a week as it was such a delicious high quality product but about 2 months ago it disappeared and hasn't returned.
Their fish offering now is really poor actually.
yeah would agree with that, I used to buy their Dairyfine chocolate buttons as they come in small bags for 49c and I dont like having tons of chocolate around the house. But they changed the recipe about two years ago, tasted to me like they replaced some of the cocoa with flour as it had that raw flour taste off it.
I'd rather they put the price up or make the product smaller that completely mess the recipe but Aldi want certain price points and they normally seem to go with the cheapen the recipe strategy over anything else. Its the same with their small jelly treats, they dont taste nice anymore and what Im tasting is mostly filler rather than fruit flavours.
Their bacon and cheese wraps are on special at the moment on the Amazing 6 promotion. Had one last night and they are not bad for frozen food. Theyre grand at 59c for two at the moment but not sure Id pay 1.49 at full price.
Has anyone found anything good in the Grow range currently on promotion? From previous iterations not all products show up.
I’m a big fan of the smoked onion mayo, have bought it in Fallon and Byrne a few times so was delighted to see it in Aldi! We also got sausage rolls that were part of it and they were class but I only saw them that one day and they haven’t had them again. I think the maker was Vale and Acre.
The triple cooked beef dripping fries are great!
Ooh... is this smoked onion mayo available in the Cork stores anyone? I used to get the get the Builín Blasta smoked onion mayo a while back in Bradley's here.
@sporina May this be as interesting to you as it is to me?
Are they sold frozen, or can they be?
They are frozen ones. Delicious!
It's the Builín Blasta one. It's in the middle aisle where they would have one-off speciality foods, in my local store it's at the end near the tills.
Better half and I just finished a punnet of strawberries from Aldi with cream and a sprinkle of chopped mint.
Delicious 😋
