Nice find! Now just have to scrape 2 grands somewhere. Love Alfa's. If I'm not mistaken, that 1.8 petrol engine is still twin spark right?
Edit: Just looked it up, it's a long time since I owned one 😁
Hard to believe its 15 years old, that 159 is gorgeous. Alfa know how to make proper estates.

I mean yeah, you'd have bought this a lot cheaper not so long ago but for 1600 asking you're getting something very original with low miles that will outlive you. Rubber strips on the doors and original steel wheels are a good sign. Ad is how ads should be done, no waffle and check the extra stuff the seller is throwing in with the sale, you know it's been minded.
1.3 petrol grey Toyota Corolla
✓ NCT April 2023
✓ Very low mileage, given the year
✓ Carefully maintained (incl. oil/filter changed at least once every year)
✓ Many new components since Summer 2021
✓ Lots of extra bits and pieces included
✓ Only one previous owner (before me)
✓ 3 original keys
✓ Alarm (not used much but appears to be working)
I would have kept this car myself for several more years but got a very good offer on a newer car from a relative, hence why I'm selling. This is a really high quality, well-maintained engine - several mechanics have commented on this fact. If you look after this car a little, you should get a lot of use out of it.
New since Summer 2021:
- Tyres (Hankook)
- Oil, filter, spark plugs (and leads)
- Timing belt, 2*auxiliary fan belts, water pump (and coolant), brake fluid
- Both outer CV joint boots (covers)
NCT completed at end of April 2022 (after all above new items), with no defects/faults/advisories.
Replaced in last two/three years (in addition to regular oil/filter/spark changes): Air filter, battery, radio.
Included: snow chains; roof bars; spare bulbs; oil and filter; Haynes manual; spare sump plug seals; original owner’s manual; spare wiper blades.
What sort of mpg would these get?
Small miles and NCT til 2023 for a grand. I do like a Lupo
Far better build quality than its successor the Fox.
Lads help please. Interested in this beast. Its a 2.0 Litre Diesel.
Belt pump clutch and fly wheel done.
Is it worth the money.

Tiny mileage 1 owner Mk1 Punto with NCT til 2023 for €1000
Way too expensive yes, but its strangely alluring.
For that sort of money they could have at least made an effort by cleaning it.
I remember having a mk1 Punto during the first recession... Possibly 1.7 diesel. To this day, the worst and the slowest car I've ever been in. Every day was utter misery. But them were the times.
I was banned from driving during the start of the recession but I did squander money I had that I could have bought a nice car that is expensive now but was dirt cheap then. I wasted money on a commercial grade weight set with an olympic bar and a commercial grade weight bench. I was mad into fitness then so thought it was a good investment. Then I went on holidays and spent more on drink and takeaways too.
And how cheap the cars were back then too. I was a fool.
Nice looking Golf convertible with NCT til 2023 for €1195. I've had a few of these and while they won't set the world on fire they're nice simple machines and enjoyable on a sunny day.
No use looking back regretting purchases not made.
Time to press reset and get back in the game.
Looks respectable enough.
Everyone should have at least one open car in a motoring lifetime and that one could fill the bill.
You won't lose a lot and if this Summer picks up you'll certainly not regret your purchase.
Looks interesting but I'd sau youre better off going a bit newer with the likes of Opel, Renault or Ford for similair money. Wonder how the NCT till 2023 works, is there some exemption to the yearly post 10 years old rule?
An uncaring employer once gave us 1.3l diesel Opel Astras as fleet cars (think this would've been around 07/08) that thing wouldn't pull you out of the bed. They were also assembled by people with absolutely zero clue of the notion of quality control.
2023 is 6 months away caller...
Had it in my head as 2024, slow morning my bad! 😴
Ford perhaps, but an Opel or Renault for similar money (an Astra or Megane) would be an inevitable headache.
Automatic Starlet with NCT til May 2023 for €1100
Big old barge with 3 months NCT for €775. Beats a rental car!
Gone already
Jaysus I never thought I'd see the day when unsellable cars are being snapped up like that.
They're just as cheap now. You're just measuring them in devaluing currencies. Take a grand off what you'd pay for a car, or what you'd pay fully for a car, and buy yourself a tube of real money, silver or gold (albeit a coin, not a tube) and then buy yourself a car in Spring for 4x or 10x. I got a backup Primera P12 for €700 during lockdown. Peach of a car, straight through NCT with no prep. But that's deadweight costing me a tube of silver coins that will 4-10x over the next 12-48 months.
You can believe cars, or anything else have got dearer, but only if you are counting in funny money (which is the standard, official measure. For now).
Look forward, looking to the past for lessons. Cars, like almost every other consumer item, will go below their real value when a liquidity scramble happens. In that incoming situation, funny money will do but you'll lock in more purchasing power with precious metals.
Hi all what do you think of this?

€1250 now
The black paint on those wheels is probably not even dry!
