Yes I’m saying very few of any of putins elections were free and fair. Hitler and the Nazi party where elected.
Maybe read a history book in between posting other people tweets.
A few years (or few months at this stage) down the line, when Putin has completely cut off the internet and outside world, on a par with N Korea, individuals will be blaming the free world for daring not to appease his invasion of Ukraine. Calling it all now.
I'm glad you posted this rather than me.
Tbh, I reckon a spinal tap style documentary of this invasion is in order.
Once in power though, the Nazis gerrymandered all subsequent elections and referendums. It went from being a democracy to being a dictatorship at quite unbelievable speed. It was arguably a full blown dictatorship within two months of them coming to power (passing of the Enabling Act in March 1933).
Both of them murdered their way to power but still the people could have had a say if they insisted on the moral integrity of their would be leaders.
1.5 million Ukrainians taken into Russia and no one knows what has happened to them.
Nothing learned from the holocaust.
Whatever happened to it will never happen again?
It's doubtful Putin has a few more years in him and even if he did sanctions would have killed off Russia economically long before that. More importantly, revolution is a perfectly valid way of changing government in Russia!
I don't see ordinary Russians tolerating Putin cutting Russia off to that extent because the people aren't going to accept going from being part of a connected world to being sealed off from said world in a year or whatever. You may get away with that in the instance where the people never had that to begin with, like North Korea, but Russia would be a different scenario entirely.
..
The grip that Putin has is incredible, I very much doubt any revolution is on the horizon. If he does have some terminal illness or whatever, I am sure leadership will just be passed to one of his fundamentalist crony pawns, like Medvedev. Personally I don't expect much change on the domestic front, just a hardening of the totalitarianism.
He fears it, all Russian leaders do because they just don't know where it might come from. This Ukrainian misadventure still has to resolve itself anyway. Even if it is a crony, they can get a pass by claiming they were following the boss and adopting a more reasonable approach. They will be inheriting a military crock of complete junk and only have those nukes to threaten with.
We've so far found out that Putin is very much not a 4D chess master, so assumptions about this or that of Putin I'd be more sceptical of. It shouldn't be forgotten that a lot of Putin's popularity comes from him being someone who took Russia out of the chaotic 90s and into the new millennium with a bit more stability and direction. To keep this war going inexorably and profoundly damage Russia's economy gives him a lot less of that strong and stable image. It acts as a whetstone to sharpen the blade that'll be plunged into his back by political opponents. Every leader thought their grip on power was safe until it wasn't, and it often took them by surprise, such was their hubris.
Exactly what Putin did, maybe he won first time round but after that it doesn’t seem likely. There are some on this thread that know very little history
You didn’t ask me to refute anything you just copied and pasted a few definitions. Maybe pay attention to what you post.
For those short on knowledge.
I still think the plan was to to landlock Ukraine and pick off a piece at a time with the help of Belarus and transitaria but Belarus hasn't gone all in and invaded ukraine from their territory ,take the coast and they shut down Ukrainian grain and coals exports along with the loss of the azozatal steel works, and the other industrial areas of Ukraine they have set this economy back decades ,
Its rather brutal methods the FSB is using
I couldn't listen to the end. If true, and given the performance of the Nazis so far I'd believe it is, there should be no mercy shown to any of them. An eye for an eye, but without the needless barbarity.
Its not the first time you will hear about FSBs brutality and sure wont be last until every Russian are out of Ukraine sent back to Russia.
All of this will be used as evidence for Russias war crimes
Sadistic animals they remind me of the Harkonnens in the Dune books and films
Russian forces are being targetted as they break through most of the 2014 Donbas front lines
Ukrainian army let the russians believe they had captured severnodonetsk, but counterattacked instead and cause Russians heavy losses and took back parts of the city again.
Those words were always empty, look at Rwanda.
Most people in the West don't even care what's happening in Ukraine anymore apart from how it affects their pocket. People more interested in the Depp case and who's going where on summer holiday.
The Ukrainian government was right recently when they said the world must not simply "get used to" the war and the atrocities, because it's clearly happening, like it always does, Syria being prime recent example. Apathy and weariness will only help Putin
I'm not sure. In totalitarian regimes change can come brutally and quickly if weakness becomes apparent. Physical illness or a botched war or economy in deep trouble and someone may sense their moment and oust him.
Even in North Korea it'll happen one day
Don't know about that. Assad still in power, Lukashenko in power, Burmese junta back in power, Putin in power 20 years, the Kim dynasty for 73 years. The list goes on and on. I wouldn't hold my breath.
To sum up the Russian army, Donkeys led by Donkeys.
He has a point, Putin and this invasion are still in the milder end of the spectrum of brutality that Communist Russia inflicted there, and even on itself.
Nazism is just communism for those not yet fully committed to murder.
Putin and all his senior leadership and Generals have had Communist party membership.
By far the most murderous ideology in history, from which fascism has its roots but it didn't succeed because it did not have the ruthless Killing zeal of communism, it certainly tried.
Zelensky signed a decree on creating military administration in Henichesk
