It is fairly clear that the 2015 campaign has had a real effect. Online discussion of political issues has become completely poisoned, accusations of using victims, name-calling and labelling, etc. have all become commonplace and were distinct parts of the online SF handbook at the time.
A campaign which started in 2015 and has not stopped. I couldn't give a f**k if SF had 2 million online supporters if they could actually act decently on the web. The problem is they seem to have a clear strategy online and this has been going on for years.
How many people are to be subjected to online abuse before they will stop this campaign?
All parties have issues with party supporters trolling.
Id be behind a full investigation into all partys to see who was upto what otherwise its a witch hunt against 1 party
This is the Sinn Fein thread
The information is all available on the internet, the multiple statements from SF saying they have problems etc. Check it out....
This is like the 'All lives matter' trope.
"ALL" parties.... yea go start a thread on it so, this is the SF thread..
SF MoN writes to her Majesty QEII
Wont make the online bot army happy, that's for sure.
Apart from a few unionist voices unhappy on twitter saying it was nothing more than a PR stunt etc your the first ive seen reference it other than in the newspapers
It is not like the "All lives matter" trope, it is more like the "White Lives Matter" type response, but the equivalent is "Good Republican Lives Matter". Too blinkered to see that by far the biggest problem in Irish politics with online abuse comes from one party.
About time that Sinn Fein acknowledged all the help that was required to get them to see sense and abandon the PIRA terrorist campaign.
Michelle O'Neil as incoming first minister (when the DUP get round to it) had no choice but to send that letter
Its very very carefully worded
She also put it up on Twitter. Just appreciate it's a nice gesture for christ sake.
I'm agnostic on the matter
Usually when people send letters they word them carefully
Usually congratulations letters like that don't need to be carefully worded...
Any letter I send would be carefully worded, be it a congratulations letter or a get well soon letter.
Im sure Michelle as one of the most high profile people on our island, carefully words all her letters
Well, I would guess that Michelle would have her letters carefully worded for her.
Considering she said she wrote the letter herself id be inclined to believe her over some random Internet poster
So videos doing the rounds of orange order singing about the murder of Michaela MacAreavey on the queen's jubilee while SF congratulates the queen and the usual anti SF crowd in here criticise SF doing this. No posts of this video of course by those so interested in northern affairs. You'd have to question Neale Richmond courting the orange order now given how absolutely abhorrent they are.
You know Exactly what I mean
But you're trying to avoid acknowledging it
Her letter was very very carefully worded not to offend or put out Republicans
Theres nothing wrong with that
You don't word every letter or card so as not to offend someone
Don't be telling me that as its nonsense
Theres no need to avoid what is obvious here at all
Its just an observation
Shows how bad SF are that they can't even send a letter without it turning into a circus.
Trying to say Michelle O'Neill is one of the most high profile people on this island, now that is baffling statement. Delusion of grandeur.
Its not a zero sum game here you know
'Loyalist's' would be roundly condemned across the water for that
They're like soccer hooligans
Scum
That would be a unanimous view here
Michelle O'Neill sending out a similar sentiment about The Queen as say Nicola Sturgeon would not
Mo'N nuanced hers not to offend Republicans
It'll be nice when the day comes that's not necessary
Who? 😂
Hahahahaha
The only ones talking about the letter are a few unionists and on here. Nobody cares, she congratulated her, big deal
The only people that are turning it into a circus are those who just can't accept that it's just a nice gesture.
It was Michelle herself who started the circus
And your point is?
I thought you said that the newspaper reported on it.
Yes, just checked, you did say the newspaper reported on it.
Seems it is not just a few Unionists and on here.
Nobody would have said anything on it if Michelle hadn't of stuck it up on twitter. The source of the circus as usual is SF themselves.
And twitter apparently.
Is Mike Nesbitt continuing the circus?
