I did produce the data that shows the issue with workforce participation. That you choose to ignore data and evidence when it disagrees with your position isn't my problem.
yes our government is doing an horrendous job, but our governments have very limited abilities to deal with our issues, we have successfully depowered our political institutions in helping us provide us with our needs, its effectively in freefall, and we dont know what to do about it
Who do the unions represent and who votes on their decisions? Was it not you begrudging student nurses who worked the front line during covid more pay, to side with the government?
The only exclusionary person is yourself. You are constantly referring to nationalists as 'exclusionary' to make them seem other. Its hateful. Saying you have a friend from work who's a nationalist or not all nationalists, wouldn’t soften that.
Thats not the data we are talking about now is it? How many aren't working simply because they chose not to? We are told these are a problem.
The irony of the situation is the that government were the ones that depowered the political institutions, all to protect themselves so that they wouldn't be held accountable. Mainly it was FF that did this during the Bertie era, all got big pay rises and expenses but none of responsibility.
Cant say as it will be a long post and im on my phone (but poster continues to write long post anyway)
Chancer
We have a huge amount of people who are working in the public service who are doing an excellent job. I had to available of the services of the HSE recently due to an accident, the staff from start to finish absolutely brilliant including a consultant who came in over weekend to threat my family member. This is what you don't hear about.
Then you have people on here insulting the work these people are doing. Ask anyone in the HSE and they will tell you they know it has issues but they still work hard and don't deserve some person at the other end of a computer slagging them off
And when pulled up on it you have other making some waffling excuses.
We have the people and that is a huge starting point. The HSE is just an example, the Gardai are the same etc.
Sorry I missed what the point of the post was?
Is this an example of the types of online abuse, if so it is excellent
1/10
...and its not just with the public sector, as we actually have incredible people working in the private sector also, of which many took incredible risks during covid, to go to work, without which we would also have been in serious trouble if they didnt
again, its clearly obvious we re in serious trouble, but our political institutions are lost, this wont be easy nor quick to resolve
yes we have the people, but we seem to be rolling around with our heads up our arseholes!
I know but I do love asking the blinkered ones 🤣
Spoofer. I think you will find we are insulting the government who put health workers in deplorable working conditions every single day.
Press release from 4 days ago...
Over 8,680 patients on trolleys in the month of May – INMO
Over 8,680 patients have been without a bed in Irish hospitals in May according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Monthly TrolleyWatch figures.
“It has been another extremely difficult month for Irish nurses and midwives in our hospitals. May is traditionally a time in our hospitals where pressure begins to ease but our members have had no reprieve.
“Yet again, University Hospital Limerick is the most overcrowded hospital in the State.
“The Minister for Health must make good on his proposed expert review of University Hospital Limerick. It has been over a month since he announced a review would take place, yet no terms of reference have been published or meetings have been scheduled with this union.
“Nurses and other healthcare staff cannot be expected to sustain this type of pressure all throughout the summer. If the Government and HSE are serious about retaining those who already work in the health service, meaningful action must be taken to ensure safe care conditions for both patients and staff. No nurse wants to have to care for patients in sub-optimal conditions.
I only read this word Spoofer and nothing else
Disgusting you think you can post something like that on a forum, especially after the discussion about online abuse.
That was handy for you 😉 Stop making up stuff so. I have the highest regard for all medical workers in this state who perform exceptionally despite the challenges.
I think you will find we are insulting the FFG government who put health workers in deplorable working conditions every single day.
As I have said multiple times Ireland has issues. This is no surprise as every country in the World has issues.
Trying to suggest they are doing an "awful job" is incorrect.
Spoofer means being "economical with the truth".
You've tried to insinuate people were insulting frontline staff, when in fact they were emphatic it was the government, and their incompetent policies people were questioning.
The feigned outrage is in all probability fooling no-one but yourself.
"That was handy for you" in what World is getting insulted online by some random stranger for no reason "handy for you".
Are you serious?
Ahh the fear of a different opinion. Yes totally serious
For all the faux outrage fired out here daily Ireland life expectancy is at it's highest ever at 82.3 years. We are one of the top countries in the World to live in.
Zero response to the regular pleas by the INMO for better working conditions? Did you miss that bit twice?
Not afraid of anything, at least I will answer questions, unlike some. I am trying to figure where exactly the government are doing a good job because as far as I can see every single thing the government is responsible for from health, law and order, education, etc are struggling to deliver the services that they are responsible for. I suppose you are ok with huge waiting lists for treatments, gardai who wont take emergency calls or when they do don't turn up, or an education system creaking at the seams that failing our most vulnerable.
Answer questions, they are just broad stroke answers. If you can't understand what the government has done that's because you don't want to see. I didn't expect anything less to be honest and it's the same always.
As I said our life expectancy is up, our crime rates are down. The rubbish posted here is trying to push a different narrative and has nothing to back it up.
As I said we have problem, everyone is working towards resolving those issues.
This "failing our most vulnerable"? is what exactly? please explain to me.
Then you have people on here insulting the work these people are doing
Like who? As the song goes, 'i don't believe it, you're making it up'.
Well then convince me where they are doing a good job? Is it on waiting lists in hospital? Is it on housing? Is it in education? I open to having my mind changed but need to convinced as I am not seeing what you are seeing?
I don't need to convince you of anything. It would be a pointless exercise anyway as I am not from a certain party telling you, wouldn't it?
I am waiting for you to clarify "failing our most vulnerable"?
I think you meant to type "would be unable" rather than "don't need to" up there.
Likely the sick, the poor and so on.
I'd expand that to failing everyone except property investors and 'their own'.
I'd be inclined to say fair play as you are in here the most among the 'everything is great' gang, but you never answer questions.
Maybe let the person speak for themselves? just an idea
Do you have anything to add to the discussion?
I was adding to the discussion. Nothing to add yourself?
Actually it was @Cluedo Monopoly who falsely accused me of blaming ordinary frontline nurses for the failures of the health system.
Well, let's take one example from education - they have created five new technological universities.
