O, I agree and Ryan getting all the slack whilst, Hilagarde whos actually directly responsible has been suspiciously absent for the past few days, not a word, comment about the fiasco from what i can determine 😉 far too busy announcing another hand out to post masters.
It seems the government finances are fully recovered from Covid.
With some careful revenue-raising measures, this year's budget could be quite the giveaway.
The government certainly appear to have astutely managed our way out of the mess.

I see Hilagarde Naughton in the news again re a Ukrainian plane landing in Shannon last month.
Unfortunately, the unemployment rate only shows a little bit of the story.
The Labour Force Participation Rate is key. Ireland is in or around the EU average, but could and probably should be doing a lot better.
Does it show the number of people who just don't want to work and still get welfare? I'm happy we have a system that subsides people who can't work.
The Employment Participation Rate is a really good indicator of how many people actually participate in the workforce.
Everyone likes a system that subsides (sic) people who can't work, other than polemic, not sure what point you are making there.
What is key, is to ensure that the system doesn't subsidise those who don't want to work, as opposed to correctly subsidising those who can't work. For example, a system that results in higher levels of disability claimants that other countries must be suspect at some level, either because people are gaming the system, or the thresholds for disability are different here, etc. At a high level, the employment participation rate shows how a country's population are doing in that regard i.e. are we covering off and preventing the abuse.
With 30% of the population aged 18-64 not participating in the workforce, and when you take into account that most students need to work to finance their studies, that 30% consists of people who retire early, are on unemployment benefit, disability allowance or some other social welfare allowance. That leaves the other 70% to finance the 30%, plus the proportion of the population who are under 18 or over 64, and you probably end up with a situation that on average every person in full-time work is subsidising one person who isn't participating in the workforce for whatever reason, good or bad. That is probably at the limit of sustainability and is one of the problems that UBI has to address.
My point is numbers not working is not necessarily a case of people choosing not to as often claimed to excuse poor governance.
Your point has no evidence to support it, making it somewhere below pub talk in terms of seriousness.

We have people in ireland doing incredible work daily and all they can see is this sort of rubbish posted online insulting what they are doing. Time a few people took a long hard look at themselves and copped on to themselves

In a small number of cases it is more serious.
There are many many more serious issues tbf.

To say it is the one of our ‘biggest’ problems is a disgrace and an exaggeration and is only said to deflect from the actual biggest problems.

As we have already seen we have a number of people coming in telling us what the poster meant. It would be presumptuous for most people to tell someone what their opinion is but seemingly not around here.

You need to have a chat with the person below and ask them what they think about it.
I was making a point that Ireland has some excellent staff working across the HSE etc.
We generally blame the decision makers but then we have their lobbyists come in and blame front line staff, who they begrudge pay and holidays to.
There is a difference between blaming nurses and blaming the nursing unions, the surplus of nurse management positions and the staffing ratios. You can blame those three things without criticising the work of any single ordinary nurse. You obviously didn't understand the point when it was originally made.
However, what is really causing you difficulty is that @brokenangel and myself have different views on issues. This is something that the monolithic exclusionary nationalist culture has great difficulty dealing with. Because they all appear to be conditioned to think in the same way about everything, when they meet others who not only differ with them but differ between each other, they are unable to rationalise the situation.
its clearly obvious we re in rapid decline, we re in serious trouble regarding most of our critical of needs, and nobody truly knows what to do about it, its now critical we accept this reality, and stop codding ourselves......
I would bet money that those questions won't be answered by anyone that supports this government, how could they answer them then that would mean admitting that the government is doing an awful job.
