It didn't go to the Supreme Court I believe, but I think there would need to be a big misdirection for the Supreme Court to overturn it in a civil case.
Depp won on all 3 counts in his case, he was awarded $10 million compensation and $5 million punitive damages.
Heard only won 1 count in her case, she was awarded $2 million compensation and $0 punitive damages.
How does she get $2m out of this??

Heard is liable for defamation for comments she made in her article. Depp is liable for defamation for comments made by one of his legal team in a different article, as the lawyer was representing Depp.
Or put another way, she has a net loss of $13 million.
I doubt she even has that amount. Maybe she does, though.
But this will reputationally wreck her: she's considered a toxic brand, losing out far more in the long-term.
Her career as an actress is probably over. And maybe Johnny Depp's has just been resurrected.

See I could flip that and say the American justice system is being shown up. It really depends what side you're on.
Like I said, the fact two different jurisdictions have interpreted evidence and witness testimony differently would imply to me that the truth of what happened between the pair of them lies in the middle.
They're also both actors, which was increasingly telling in both testimonies, especially in hers.
It's far from the last we've heard of this, that's for sure.
The big thing for Depp is that on all 3 counts the jury agreed that Heard's false and defamatory statements were made with malice.

Thats right, he was awarded 10+5 million. The 5 was capped at 350k and she was awarded 2 so I think it works out at 8.35 for Depp.
