The spiral stairs down to the lower ground floor is in the hall at upper ground level.
That cheap pine one to the first floor is in the sitting room to the left of the hall.
It probably did have a lovely staircase at one stage. They've completely butchered that house.
I'd say the stairs was changed to make extra room upstairs, it's quite a small house, only 5.3 mtrs deep
They really need to hang a sign in the kitchen that says "Eat" in cursive letters. I think that would really add to the ambiance
I found it mentioned in the Examiner from last year as "house of the week",for sale at €425 AMV, with 3 bedrooms in it's back-then configuration. Although today it says 4 bedroom, it only shows 3.
As distinctive as it looks, the wide, five-bay house is quite shallow, essentially one room deep in its core, so that many of the rooms get a triple aspect..

There are some lovely lake drives up there in fairness, and Carrick is a nice drinking spot.(Least it was pre pandemic)
I think The Hills Have Eyes and Deliverance were filmed there. Apparently it was very easy to get extras there who didn't need to spend hours in make-up.

Just me overtaking things now but I wouldn't like to buy a house here being so close to water if I had kids.(I know houses are often near water). Knowing my luck it would also flood.
It looks like good value to me, but the house and surrounding area seems so ... sterile, to me.
If you look at it on street view on Google it did have green in front with a rather overgrown hedge. It would have looked more welcoming with the hedge trimmed into shape but they chose to replace the grass with pebbles and the hedge with those horse trough affairs. It doesn't look a bit appealing to me, looks as though its about to topple over. The interior is fine though.
It looks like the off-street parking was an afterthought and estate agent had to come back for the last photo.
There may have been an arrangement to park in the lane behind the house as there is a gate onto this lane,
but the lane belongs to number 1
The lighting, the fact that each photo is a separate room yet it still exudes claustrophobia, and for that price... not as bad as some I've seen here, but pretty awful

Fine looking spot. I reckon it was a traditional 2 storey country house and a exterior designer went to town on it. The open window wall lets in loads of light which can only be a good thing in this climate.
