You are aware you can become a TD as well if you want? no qualification, no degree etc required. Maybe try the job before calling them "idiots" and "doopy"
Unemployment touched 15% so what was the other 85% doing? We always circa have 5% unemployed at the best of times so that 10%. So "tons of companies"? I would expect a lot of these are sole traders etc as they had to close business during covid.
So supporting people during a pandemic is now "wasted billions"?
It is a good point.
If we had followed a policy of rolling over for Putin, as was advocated up until December by the opposition, we wouldn't have had this cost-of-living crisis. We would have had the extinction of Ukraine on our conscience though.
When people talk about the issues with the online "community" I think this is an excellent example of why Twitter and other providers need to lock down these fake accounts
Look at the amount of fake account under this one post. It really is embarrassing now how bad this has got in Ireland. Some people have a lot to answer for.
Time for some updated laws as well to stop this online carry on.
Turkish bot farms?
The ones paid for by friends of an opposition party?
If you mean the Stephen Donnelly post? An excellent example of how the government worked with twitter to shut down fake accounts. It's just a pity they couldn't do it all the time but it would take a massive amount of time
Yeh, Fine Gael complain about anonymous accounts too after being found out recommending setting them up to praise themselves.
It was hilarious, talk about shooting yourself in the foot....
As soon as it happened the usual accounts had huge amounts of information which was available straight away. When it was pointed out to them it would take hours if not days to gather it went very quiet.
But as I said, an excellent example of the government shutting down these fake accounts.
Afaik its daa pulling a quick one, letting go people and taking em back on,on lower pay & conditions is mostly to blame
I hope the unions stick their heels in and bankrupt the fcukers before this practice is allowed become widespread
Anyone can get a fake account shut down BA you don't need to be a government. Anyone can set anonymous accounts up too. Are you suggesting it was FG trying to discredit FF? Sounds plausible.
They are pretty ham-fisted at Social Media. Remember this?

A huge difference between having an open discussion about it and implementing it
Not sure why you struggle to understand the difference? look at the disgrace of those comments, Leo is just one. Disgusting and not safe for people. About time this was shut down
Ah, the time limit kicks in. Ok. 😁
Off down a Francie rabbit hole to deflect off the topic, an article from 2016🙈
I am talking about the certain group of "people" online with 20+ accounts just created to abuse people. All over the web running multiple accounts. I gave the perfect example above.
It needs to be shut down now. Everyone is sick of these "people". It a disgrace
How do you know they have 20 accounts? Is there a way of telling?
Link?
It happened on here, isn't that enough proof that it happens.
If so interested ring the expert's on it....unfortuneatly that's not the government parties
Anyway lets keep on topic. It's time for the government to look at how they can they can resolve this. Twitter are trying but we need to put in place some laws to undercover these people as well.
So another claim with no back up.
There are as many allegations out there about fake FG accounts as they are about any other party. That's a fact, just stick 'fake Fine Gael Accounts' into twitter if you need proof of that and you will see allegation after allegation.
My recommendation would be an inquiry into all party's activity online for that reason.
When the indo is desperate for clicks and shares
on another website people losing their sh**e over this till you point out to read the article and not just the headline 🤣🤣
So much for “biased” press

The DAA, Hildegard and sleepy smurf have been meeting weekly. As far back as March they were aware and planning for an upsurge in customers.
They let loads go at the beginning of covid and never took them back. Now they are in a hurry. Piss poor planning and little or no oversight.
Absolutely pointless
Nobody has said that all parties don’t have trolls by the way
Get up the yard
😁😁 Of course there have been years of allegations and there have also been years of zero proof that the party are running these accounts. (Feel free to post the proof)
As you admit they all may have issues so would you agree that all should be investigated?
We know Leo floated the idea of creating anonymous accounts to talk up FG. We know FG ministers use social media farms in Turkey. Sinister / chilling etc.
When asked about Leo's anonymous accounts idea Eoghan Murphy said 'much worse things were floated' at the brainstorming session.
Time for this party to be investigated?
hit and a miss as already discussed
Embarrassing for the people who arranged it online, especially when the government parties shut down the fake accounts once they became aware.
That back fires 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I can image the meeting when the people came up with that, look something like this
We are still rolling over, millions of Russian money still going through the IFSC
Few perks for the Russians a few weeks ago
And that was while the IN&M (Sindo/Indo) had not been taken over by Mediahuis. There were also problems with Facebook likes from India and Pakistan for FG policy announcements. Perhaps someone could run a social network analysis on suspected government meatbot accounts on Twitter? :)
Regards...jmcc
More than enough smoke at this stage to warrant that.
Facebook likes? When exactly was this?
Maybe you could provide some government “meatball accounts”, check the post above and I have provided an excellent example of the online mob
Need any more information?
👍
Meatbot not "meatball". It is a phrase used by people who understand such matters.

It was big news in Ireland at the time.
