The Comrades on the thread won't like that. Germany is playing a blinder as far as they are concerned.
The reaction from Ukraine Officials and pro democratic activists in Germany is much harsher.
Rereg.
I think a Black sea war is a huge problem for Putin as the entire Fleet would be destroyed by the long range missiles that Biden had spoke about sending.Putin can't win that sea war as there is nowhere to hide and in that scenario Turkey controls the Black sea and all traffic in and out because it has been demilitarized. That changes world power structures again.
There can be no big conflict in that sea so I can see Putin backing down and allowing the grain out but he will spin it as a win.He also has grain to sell. The problem is finding some force to keep the peace and Ukraine will soon have anti-ship missiles.
Best ? Or expendable ? Neither Chechens not Wagner are counted by Russia as casualties.. ( not that they're officially announcing their casualties anyway )
Oh what a blistering counter argument, full of well made points and links that support said points, no wait...
Germany's name is now mud in Eastern Europe.
Eastern Europe is going to change the EU from here on in.
They'll stick together now or hang together and they will give Berlin and Paris some slaps if they get in their way.
The two big old powers are looking at this as an inconvenience and a threat to the pocket,a trouble with a friend.
The East of the EU are looking at people who they are close to being wiped out, shipped off to work camps in Russia in their millions.
The defining aspect of EU summits for years was the French and German leadership meeting before hand to decide the end result.
That is now over and who knows what that will lead to.
Was there not some talk of creating an Eastern bloc alliance?
So far Germany has sent 2500 anti aircraft missiles, 900 Panzerfaust with 3000 rounds of ammunition, 100 machine guns, 15 bunkerfaust with 50 rockets, 100000 hand grenades, 2000 mines, 5300 explosive charges, 16 million rounds of ammunition and 5000 helmets.
Is this enough? Not by a loooong shot. Should Germany send more? HELL YES!!!! And, of course, there is more planned. No one is happy with Scholtz on this. I'd kick his ass personally, given the chance.
But to suggest that the German government is covertly supporting the Russians in this is desultory, risible and a feeble attempt at throwing mud at a convenient target to just score points for one's own agenda. In other words, edgelord bullsh*t. And worse has been suggested, that is just infantile nonsense by birdbrains. Should anyone feel personally insulted by this, GOOD! Away with ya, ya bawbag.
There is also a "ring swap" in the works. Czech Republic, Slovenia and Greece will send BMP-1, T72 and Dana howitzers and recieve Marder and Leopard in return.
They could call it Warsaw Pact, I think it's a catchy name.
Various reports of f all coming from Germany including small arms in weeks. And they want to swap new weapons to Ukraine can get 1960s BMPs.
Why not sent them mardars like they asked. Australians sent over bushmasters.
It's fuckery now frankly.
The Germans have shown their true Colours.
A report in English on the Welt am Sonntag, a leading Newspaper in Germany, expose on how Germany has hardly sent a bullet to Ukraine over the last 2 months.
Germany is defiant in its position, it's willing to be called out repeatedly by Ukraine, the political leadership of Eastern European democracies. They Polish President called out Germany for breaking their word and how disappointed they were.
It will promise this and that once more but in a few more months the story will be the same.
An article on how hundreds of Anti aircraft missiles Germany was sending were marked as obsolete and dangerous 8 years ago. If they were good and safe to use they would have not picked them out.
Ultimately Ukraine is just a transit point for Russian resources heading to Germany. It's fate is irrelevant to them.
Prefer Former Eastern Communist Kinship Resistance Union
Or Feck RU
Russia is a poor country that has to go on the rob to fund their lifestyle.
Wouldn't be surprised if Hiaces were popular in Russia.
Phone lines and gold teeth will be next.
Why o why is the ambassador of the ****ers still here?
They are not even being covert about it, they release another deal and promise and start to renege on it immediately.
I doubt if there will, it's a massive ace in the hand for Putin, just imagine the chaos in Europe from the instability of North Africa and the middle East hungry.
I hope they do sort it out.
The bridge over the Dnipro in NovaKhakova in more innocent times.
I doubt the bridge will be left intact if the Ukrainians manage to get that far. Although the tweet says that they are moving 'towards' NovaKhakovka, it doesn't mention that it's 65 km away.
Most of that was obsolete or corroded or not fit for purpose. Serious, serious questions to be answered by Germany and why they are talking out both sides of their face.
A lot of people don't believe anything that Zerohedge writes according to Ukrainian officials.....
Another hard to believe headline
Personally I'd like to see them bombed back to the stone age. They deserve no better.
If the 20th century history taught us that the German state can't be trusted, the current double dealing of promising Military resources to Ukraine and then backtacking every time, once again shows that the German state still cannot be trusted.
I think a lot of countries should be judged on how they supported Ukraine in the very early days of the invasion. They got close to no support from the west who were fully prepared to just let Russia take Ukraine. Ukraine only got support after it was seen that they were willing to resist the Russians and that the Russian military was a shambles.
Any support Ukraine is getting from the west now is to weaken the Russian military, not to save Ukraine. The eastern block countries are seeing this and taking note I’m sure.
Uh-huh, maybe care to regale mr with a long and detailed list of what Ireland has supplied?
No hurry, take all the time you need...
Over 30,000 pps numbers, massive housing support. In terms of military all we have is fisher price toys. We couldn’t defend an invasion of any description, you would see our leprechaun president going to the bunker fast.
That’s putting it very, very, very mildly. I wonder if there was an election in the morning how would he and his party fare. Is there a ‘monthly’ poll in Germany on party/ leader popularity - like there is in Ireland
Ireland sent face masks. I'm sure that will win the war.
Norbert Rottgen, former German Minister, calling out the oil embargo.
Says it leaves Germany fine, has very limited effect on Russia, it frees up shipping so allows capacity to be diverted elsewhere. That option would not be there with a pipe line ban.
Berlin delivered once more for Russia.
There are ongoing polls and Scholz has indeed shot himself in the foot. His ratings tanked. And I (and evidently a large % of Germans) are indeed very unhappy with his handeling of the crisis. Had that guy just acted, people would have accepted the current difficult situation far better. As it is, we're paying through our nose for everything and we're not tackling Russia.
Basically all aspects of his governance are under fire. CDU and Greens are quite boyant. Nobody gives a fcuk about AfD because they are a bunch of clueless effwitts whose only policy is to be against whatever any government does. FDP are the eternal PDs, forever hanger-ons and opportunists.
To be clear, I want this guy sh*tcanned at the next election, unless he shows some serious improvement.
IMO , I think that the power wielded by especially the French/ German axis is over. This is based on a simple fact , So, the next time a big debate is up for decision I can see a block of Poland Hungry , Latvia, Rumania, Lithuania, Chech republic. , etc, forming an unofficial block and being much more forceful in their arguments going forward. Poland is ‘ showing the way’ with the argument re control over appointment of judges. Not the best example , but !
Again and again, people fall for the same propaganda.
I'm sure there are people on this thread who believed the lurid tales of Iraqi soldiers throwing babies out of incubators in Kuwait.
How many times do you have to be lied to before you develop some skepticism?
