Good idea CG but unfortunately the loader tractor would not be fit to lift a bale with out a rear weight.
I’d say I’d you had a good 120/130 HP tractor that would be the business - just a little 100 HP loader tractor here
All you need is the one tractor with the neuguent type handler and trailer ,unhitch trailer in field and load away and unload in yard .push out hitch on tractor is an advantage
Just looking at speeding up bale collecting here:
would anyone know if this cashel pick and stack bale lifter
could load freshly wrapped bales onto a trailer like this:

Bale trailer
would have a tractor in the yard
with this type bale handler (below) on the front loader to unload the trailer

Nugent Hydraulic Bale Handlers
anyone doing similar or would that set up work? Have two tractors, one that pull the bale trailer and another one to load if that would work
Anyone getting the adblue mapped off on their tractor with the way it's gone this year.
Disc mowers typically fold up vertical for transport which is quicker than having to get out, undo a latch, and swing a mower back through 90 degrees. Although having said that there are disc mowers that swing back too rather than up vertical.
Disc motors require hydraulic lifting, and hydraulic lift capabilities can be very handy in cases where you're moving between several small fields.
What does this mean exactly about hydraulic lifting?
Does it mean that when the mower is swung out, it needs a ram to regulate the level? Whereas a drum mower just needs to swing out and be left on the ground?
There is a suspension valve that regulates the height of the bags. It's a bit like a ball cock has an arm attached to the chassis that lets air out or stops it going in when you get to the right height.
I connected the airbags up n no leaks. They kept raising n I'm sure they would go bang if overdone. I wouldn't be great with electrics at all, sure I'll t the 3 together n see what happens, if no good I'll blank all 3 ends. If that doesn't work my bank holiday weekend is looking grim!!
I was looking at a Lely Hibiscus 805 cd the other day, anyone running one? Just wondering of there's anything to look out for.
Won't happen for years.
You might think that, imagine there'll be lots of them destined for Ukraine if there is a slow down & the other lad gets kicked out.
Lads do any of ye know about the air suspension on artics? The uncle got a bale trailer that is cut from an artic but once the bales are on it the wheels are rubbing the floor, it has low profile wheels. Apparently I'm good at this stuff so I got landed!
I was thinking of inflating the airbags n this valve leaves the wheel set say 4" below the floor. It'd be a lot handier than trying to weld spacers in etc. He could stick a shot of air in with the compressor as needs be.
1 red line runs to the front of the trailer and the grey, black n other red run to some valve to the back. But that section was cut off. Could I just get a t piece n connect all 3? It'd make life easier if it works!!
If you hold off for a few months more i'm thinking you'll get plenty of them.
I'm on the lookout for an 8 ton.
Is it worth going up north for a machine? I was on the lookout for a 3ton digger the past few months and the prices are going one way.
Sparex sell one, I use it for the slurry tank. Atkins of Cork have them.

Thanks FM
the first two photos are just what I’m after, and it held in place with a drawbar pin. Will get onto the fabricator to make one like that.
Anyone know if you can get a hitch leveller like this
NUTS 'N' BOLTS Adjustable height mounting towball coupling drop plate bracket Land Rover 4x4 3500kg Tow Hitch Drop Plate 2 Pin 270mm Towbar Towing Trailer https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07FLD86ZJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_E80MGJGJVZ68GWNX5PQ0?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
That could attach to the tractors drawbar ?
just when towing the livestock box with the tractor it’s still a wee bit high even with the drawbar turned ‘upside down’
I brought in 45 or so acres on Sunday. Tractors were €50/hr. It took 5 hours so €250 divided by 45 is €5.55 per acre. It all depends on output. Have enough of them to keep the harvester moving and it will work out cheaper I think.
Id have said 10 an acre would be great if you could get it, 7-8 might be more realistic id have thought.
.....
I'd say 7 acres an hour, wouldn't be big output. I was thinking roughly 2 euro diesel, 2 labour, 6 for the tractor. Their be breakdowns etc so hard to tally per hour
How many acres an hour? And what do you value your tractor at per hour.
....
€50 an hour is the bare minimum ya'd want to be charging
bought a new mchale here 3 years ago,it has it,absolute pain in the A**e having to keep swapping the pick up hook for the draw bar..keep meaning to cut it out
Id say that's high if you're talking per tractor and trailer - four tractors drawing would be 60 an acre, 25 for mowing and you're at 85, 15 for raking and you're at 100 without considering loader and harvester. Im pretty certain lads with our gang used to get 5 an acre, probably more now with the price of machinery and diesel etc. 5 an acre per tractor is still 50 an hour per tractor which wouldn't be too bad for running a tractor and trailer?
McHale had removable bushes on the eyes of their wrapper drawbars. Around here, some towed them with the Clevis drawer and others on the pick up hook.
I'd imagine it would be an hourly rate alright.
The extra trailer will usually be needed on long draws, thus the per acre rate would be a bit of a fools errand
Paying €50/hr per extra trailer on a long draw
How much would someone charge to draw in sfp silage? 15 euro.an acre?
