Yet again at this junction (Balbriggan), a car is in the wrong lane. The left most lane which he was in, is left turn only. Thank feck I was watching his indicator, which wasn't on and kept an eye on him. He duely flashed his hazzards a little further down the road.
At 3 secs in taxi indicates it's intention to move into lane2, 3 secs later you start your move into same lane.
You were as far behind the taxi as the taxi was behind the truck.
You continue to close on the taxi for a full 8 seconds without reacting to the potential changes ahead.
Then you find yourself in this situation;
You were lucky the red polo driver was not driving like you, and gave you space.
Two things, do not use cruise control on a busy motorway, and remove your car registration from your satnav if you are going to post videos of your own dangerous driving.
Everyone's an expert...
Shocking. What's even more shocking you still believe you are in the right. Chuck your license in the nearest bin to you.
Oh and if you maintained your travel, after all you were 'right', and ran into that car from behind, you'd have the book thown at you and no insurance company would touch you for years.
The person in the rear is always wrong, even if the other car cuts you off.
You need to resit your driving test.
He could and should have;
From what I know Circle K is 24hr but McDonald's closes at 11!
Can't really tell any of that from the clip
Good job all the disabled spots were unoccupied - much ado about nothing
Still it's no excuse.
He has his side door open with no one in the drivers seat. Engine was running too.
He could have parked in one of the disabled spots and unloaded his cargo while only blocking one disabled spot.
TBF You can't tell from that clip if they were stopped waiting for the other white van to exit Atlas before reversing in themselves.
Fixed.🙄
video is private..
Ironic parking - the ability to park while blocking the road and two disabled parking spaces when parking in one of the disabled spaces would ironically have been the better option (as only one disabled space would have been blocked).
Added bonus for using magic hazard lights which allow white vans park anywhere.
Minus two points because if s/he parked further up the road s/he would have blocked three disabled spaces instead of just two.
Your camera is pointed too high. You want 1/3 of the frame to have your bonnet in it. The camera will be adjusting to the sky and won't have the correct exposure for the road.

Please shred your driving licence.
Safer evasive action would have been to disengage the cruise control, engage the brain and slow down.
Being in the right doesn't prevent incidents but doing the right thing can prevent an incident escalating to a calamity.
From what I can see of the replies it seems nobody is considering the speed relationship between any of the vehicles . I was going much faster than the taxi in Lane 1 which necessitated me overtaking it and moving into Lane 2. The taxi was going at the same speed or slightly faster than the truck in lane 1 that was quite a distance in front of it. There was no necessity for the taxi to change lane, but that's neither here nor there. We can see that the taxi initiated changing lanes with it's indicator on when the car in front of me in Lane 2 was passing it to the point that that car takes evasive action. I can't stress this enough it seems - I am approaching at speed in Lane 2 whilst being overtaken by another car in Lane 3. The taxi doesn't check their mirror and pulls into my lane as I am attempting to overtake them at speed. I'm sounding my horn but they keep coming so I took evasive action when I saw that there was room and that the car in Lane 3 had passed me. I was also on cruise control up to the point of the taxi incursion so any suggestion that I was trying to race any other car is incorrect.
Unlikely. There's a McDonalds and a 24 hour services at the junction prior in Fermoy which is well signposted. Just carelessness and lack of any kind of rational thought or forward planning on their part, pure and simple.
With those place signs (Dublin/Mitchelstown etc….) you get plenty of them though in the lead up to the exit…. Usually at about 2-6km, then 1km, then 500m then 0m, so plenty of opportunity to be aware that your exit is coming…..
It was but for exit 8 Cashel, not Mitchelstown so it had nothing to do with it.
First time I hear they are banned. Makes no sense as so could sign for Dublin or Mitchelstown cause one to take sharp turn.
What would the logic of such ban be?
Was it the McDonald's sign on the roadside that triggered them at 10 seconds? I thought all advertising like this was banned for this very reason.
Very close call.
This muppet was in the right hand lane from the top of the hill going down to the junction, he had well over a 1.5km to get in the correct lane and there was only 1 car behind me in the left lane.
Forget that, Can't be behind a slower car even for a second.
"You cant just cross into lanes regardless of whats coming along or how fast its coming" says the lad who barreled into lane 3 on top of the red car in his own video. You should have just braked, you well know it. That red car brakes and your all stuffed. Driving like that by the taxi and by you is what causes crashes on the m50 every single day.
Probably explains why people like driving in the middle lane, too much hassle trying to change lanes if you come across a truck. Given that the taxi driver saw the truck first and clearly indicated I would have let him go instead of racing at him, bit of give and take makes life easier for everyone. Just another example of why I avoid the M50 if possible.
On decision making by the OP - understand the frustration but wrong call not to ease up and overtake instead.
Leaving aside the decision making of the OP how frustrating is it when people behave like the taxi, no consideration for people in outer lanes moving faster.
You can be "in the right" , have an accident and spend two hours on the side of the road waiting for a tow truck and a year sorting out the insurance...
...or just let him in.
Jaysis I hope I’m never near you on the road
I can understand now how the dodo was hunted to extinction.
