Has anyone said MM will be leader in the next election?
Also the links above, the claim by Francie is MM wanted to go into coalition with SF so not sure why you think "MM hates MLMD"? as per the link every other member said no chance.
Remind me how did PBP and the rest get on with negotiating a coalition with SF last time around? 😂
You are making stuff up again.
You don't know what the party would have done after negotiations. Your childish 'would have to find SF' remark is below discussing tbh.
MM will no more be Fianna Fail leader in the next election than I will be. He'll be moved aside when he rotates out of the Taoiseach's office. I'd say they are hoping the Presidency comes up before they have to push him but push him they will when it comes to it.
So then the "MM hates MLMD" thing will no longer be a barrier. A new leader could lead them into a coalition with SF. But there is a problem with that. SF almost certainly won't need them. They are on 36% now. Two more years of promising everything to everyone and someone else will pay and SF will be well over 40%. That's close to overall majority levels. If they need additional seats they will look to their fellow Trots in Solidarity/PBP/Rise/Independents. FF and FG will be out.
Again you are not actually reading the article you linked, but this has been discussed many times so fairly pointless
Even IF MM wanted to go into coalition with SF he had two problem
FF is also a party, not an individual. Member vote on topics and just because 1 member might want something doesn't mean the rest do. You seem to be confused that if MM wanted to join SF that it would automatically happen, that is not the case. A majority would have to vote on it. Some parties seem to be set up different.
Please note, at no stage have I said MM wanted to go into coalition with SF.
Nowhere in any of that did MM say he was open to doing business with SF, in fact, as RTE reports
"It has to be stated that Mr Martin did not commit himself to negotiating with Sinn Féin, let alone concluding a coalition deal."
Your fantasy that such a deal was possible remains a fantasy. Of course, it is very likely the next government under a new FF leader.
You are a lone and slightly pathetic voice on this one, as evidenced.
Fianna Fáil reaction: Martin opens door to government with FG or SF – The Irish Times
Martin opens the door to coalition with Sinn Féin - Independent.ie
Martin opening the door to Sinn Féin (rte.ie)
As everyone saw, Michael was quite prepared to u-turn in the traditional sleeveen way of politics here. He eventually went in with FG whom he also said he 'would never' form a coalition with.
This fantasy again that MM would have done the deal with SF. It is not quite as far-fetched as the 1969 invasion of Northern Ireland but it is also detached from reality.
An FF deal with SF is a definite possibility after the next election, and is my expected outcome, but we are a long way and a new FF leader away from that, and a lot could change. However, it was never on the table after the last election.
I did read the post where you said this:
Lets explain this to you, the accusation you made about FF or any of the government parties are proved to be true they should be held accountable
The problem is you think that it’s ok for a specific party to commit crimes because you support them.
The 'crimes' you specifically mentioned are ones where people were held accountable and where they were found guilty served sentences.
You insinuated that crimes are still being committed 25 years after a conflict/war on this island ended and a peace agreement was reached with the blessing of SF and ignoring the fact that it is a leader of a government party is currently being held accountable for possible criminal activity. Own what you are saying for once.
A discussion on current criminal activity by politicians is entirely appropriate to this 'government' thread therefore. Will you now correct your post?
As usual you didn't read the post.
Anyway if you want to discuss in more detail the opposition party in question has it's own thread
Those who killed a Gardai were held to account, those principally involved in the Liam Adams case were questioned and a file was prepared for the northern DPP and no laws were broken.
Nobody pretends that SF were not involved in a conflict/war that is now over. The same thing happened with the FF and FG parties at the foundation of this state,
If you have information about criminality by any party member anywhere you should go to the Gardai. There is a high profile case with the DPP now for review because the alleged criminal made a confession in the Dáil that may make him criminally liable.
But but but……
The problem is you think that it’s ok for a specific party to commit crimes because you support them. You also support the murdering of a Garda and a party giving the killer a round of applause
You also seem to have no issue with a party hiding a paedophile as a youth worker
This little crusade is extremely disturbing 😳 as you are just proving that you think crimes and murder are ok for one party and not another
In my opinion they are not right for any party and the people involved should be brought to justice.
You can continue firing this out on every thread but it won’t change my opinion
Get up the yard
You're off topic off thread ranting. Accept FF/FG/Greens have their dodgy past and present. I think a mass baby grave is pretty up there. Just because it was carried out and covered up by the state doesn't make it okay.
Did FF give a criminal a standing ovation for killing a Garda?
Or shut down the press to stop them reporting on criminals?
get up the yard
No they have links to Kinahans and criminal gangs….
Anyway it’s a discussion for the SF thread….
It hasn't gone away you know...
So Eamon will be in Dail Eireann.
When you own the judges and set the rules, you'd need be on the Late Late or something braging before anything happened and even then you'd not see the inside of a court.
Here's a few for you. You can drop it in to unrelated threads to have a go.
And of course the Senator and spokes person for FG who assaulted a sleeping man by forcing a chocolate bar up his arse.
There is only one reason: FG management is incompetent and chose the wrong candidate. Even without the Woke stuff, it would have turned out the same.
Regards...jmcc
Not to mention a second runway being built at Dublin Airport.
Climate emergency anyone????
anything but talk to the Irish people and address their concerns.
Shows exactly what they really believe about the climate “emergency”. I’m sure they got some nice pointers on extra taxes and nanny state regulation though from their masters at davos
FG have been haemorrhaging support since they embarked on their woke crusade under Varadkar. Can only conclude they persist with it for browny points at the U.N and Davos- the people that they really care about
Based on not being tied to vested interests such as bankers and builders
It's fine Hildegarde Naughton (with responsibility for this fiasco) is meeting the DAA tomorrow to learn lessons, with Hildegarde in charge, what could possibly go wrong 🤔😉
Eamon, apparently having a Lie - In
Based on what will SF do anything?
Eamon Ryan needs to be hauled to an Oireachtas committee to explain:
Why did DAA not re hire people on proper contracts and why were they not hired before this? Why aren’t their pay and conditions improved to help fill positions with an accommodation and cost of living crisis?
Is Eamon Ryan’s plan to decimate International travel from Ireland which in turn destroys the economy here all in the name of climate change, instead of bringing the people with him in a proper; organised move to sustainable living? The Climate Crisis has no bearing on what is going on currently.
What is DAA’s budget? Is it sufficient to staff the airport, security and even cleanliness. Why are there so many comments online of the toilets never cleaned and disgusting? Is this how Ireland does business in 2022 post Covid?
As Francie points out a deal was on the cards until Martin realised that FF would be the junior partners in government.
Leo and Micheal on about climate emergencies and then they're swanning around the world on planes around the world on unimportant stuff. Why does Leo need to be in Davos? They could co-ordinate and do deals during covid on zoom but he needs to be in Davos for the WEF? Mickey is over in Lebanon, another pointless exercise.
No lie.
Martin would have done a deal with SF if he had won the amount of srats he thought he was winning when he opened the door to them.
Wasn't just me that observed his sleeveen u-turn. U-turns we are told here happen all the time. Say one thing before an election and do another after it.
Do you want me to post the video of MM telling voters that he would NEVER coalesce with FG?
The Gardai will do sweet fuuck all about cronyism but if SF get in there is a good chance they will. Various wrong doings have gone on in this country over the years and FF and FG have managed to cover it up. Two of the most disgusting examples involve Michael Noonan. Grace and the Hepatitis C scandal.
I don’t see anyone in FF wanting to join SF. At the moment I don’t even see one of them even admitting they would go into coalition
They didn’t at the last election and the info I have is more & more wants absolutely nothing to do with SF and the supporters
I don't know where you're getting your 'info' on this issue but it certainly doesn't stack up with this
Almost 20 Fianna Fáil TDs have said they would not rule out holding coalition talks with Sinn Féin after the next general election...almost every Fianna Fáil TD who responded to queries from The Irish Times expressed a willingness to sit down with Sinn Féin after the next election.
The Irish Times attempted to contact all 38 Fianna Fáil TDs on this issue and 19 responded.
Note the rest of them weren't saying 'No', they were saying 'No comment'. I think we can draw our own conclusions from that...
who is shouting?
As I advised th other poster if they have information supply it to the Gardai
Not sure what this incoherent post is about?
So you lied as usual and won’t apologise
Quelle surprise
