With the leader of the main Unionist party applauding speeches calling the GFA 'iniquitous' and 'deceit' are the upcoming elections a test for the seminal agreement?
It's hard to know what will happen if the DUP manage to get their vote out and maintain the majority vote.
The only march i think that should be held is St Patricks day... i am sure there may be others like charity gigs and do-gooders and they be ok...

7,000 I hear.
10,000 in markethill in blizzard conditions opposing protocol
and watch numbers today celebrating 100 years of NI
Where did you hear those numbers?
Care to show some verification. Thanks DC. I know you love to be factual and would never resort to untruths to make a point.
I have searched several sites for you. The only figure I can find is 7,000 at Irish protest. It’s the figure the organisers gave and in most media https://www.irishcentral.com/news/thousands-march-belfast-irish-language-equality.amp. Som media don’t give numbers.
The tv and radio reported the police estimate on that horrendous blizzard night in markethill as 10,000. Can’t find much in print other than this https://m.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/northern-ireland/anti-protocol-protests-will-get-bigger-and-remain-aggressive-says-former-first-minister-arlene-foster-41365006.html
and my suggestion to watch numbers today. I can now update you. Police are saying well over 100,000 at today’s event
so Downcow - accurate as always.
Speaking on GB News’ Political Correction programme on Sunday, Arlene Foster said “upwards of 10,000 people” attended the rally despite the freezing weather conditions.
Did she really??? ROFL ROFL
The Irish News portrayal of yesterday’s event
The reality of yesterday’s event. Slightly different age profile
Great event I am I told (I wasn’t at it) Psni say we’ll over 100,000
Pity it wasn't Arlene counting them, might have been a million.
Plenty of orangewomen at it anyway
You might want to use a photo from the actual event.
Oh my goodness you don’t like to see the Northern Irish enjoying themselves. That was the ‘actual event’, unless you know otherwise?
if it’s the marchers you are after (who are a very small percentage of those attending) then there are endless photos out there of everyone having a ball but if you are struggling then here is a wee one of one of the bands from my local republican area where most loyalist bands continue to flourish with young talent. You’d love our culture to be dying - sorry to disappoint you
and yes of course there are many older folk involved, but as one southern newspaper demonstrates here, they are young at heart
That photo isn't from the centenary event. If people are doing stuff like this to try to put lipstick on the pig then yeah their culture can't be in too good a shape.
2021 https://www.belfastlive.co.uk/news/belfast-news/mini-twelfth-parade-east-belfast-20953348
Downcow is using a photo from 2nd july 2021, as proof of a large attendance.
The best he could do.
Just to blow your nonsense out of the water , I have done a google street view for you. If you still doubt this is part of the parade route then I will also post the parades commission route.
what is both interesting and hilarious is that you see our community in such a dim light through sectarian Google’s that you cannot believe that our parades are now carnivals. What is sad is that many southerners believe you.
Kids made memories for life yesterday and I have no doubt they will be taking their grandchildren to whatever our next generation evolve the parades into. Onwards and upwards
What's sadder is that you have to use old photos to bolster this false reality of yours, Are you lying to yourself ? Or us ?
Not much of a carnival when the bulk of the marchers belong to an organisation that doesn't allow Catholics to join.
So I used that photo in good faith. I will be shocked if it is not from yesterday. So stop the implications and say what you mean. If you are claiming it is old then I will find the source.
it is incredible to me that you are so prejudiced and out of touch to think that is not the atmosphere at Northern Ireland parades
Your mate Jamie was posting this picture nearly a year ago
I'm not implying anything - I'm telling you.
No need to look for the source. I included it in my first post to you.
Do you actually read posts ?
fair play. I reposted something wrongly. Going by the date ie 2nd July that must have been the annual mini twelfth (Somme) last year. So the point is the same and those that are shocked that our parades can be like this need to think again. You so misunderstand our community
When you were told it wasn't yesterday you said "Just to blow your nonsense out of the water"
Better luck next time Jamie
You will always find me up front when I am mistaken. Now you draw attention to that post of mine I can say clearly - lumpkin I apologise, you were correct, the photo was from last year.
now the point of the post doesn’t change. I can post you endless pictures of huge crowds and young people enjoying yesterday but I imagine you don’t want to see them. If you doubt the size and atmosphere of the day, sure let me know and I’ll get posting
I love being Northern Irish - and you will be welcome if you want to join the only growing identity on the island
No everyone thinks parades are a great look.
hilarious how you were caught out posting an old photo claiming it was current, and you try to answer that by telling how misunderstood you are. Thats some audacity.
Go on then, post away these "endless pictures of ... young people". Personally I think this random selection from the Newsletter is a lot closer to the mark :
Just as an aside, I see the Newsletter describes it as "this mammoth day for unionism". Not a mammoth day for the citizens of Northern Ireland. No. Just for Unionism. Not an opportunity to try to be more inclusive. No. An opportunity to parade. Again.
dc I don't know if you'll ever have the benefit of some day seeing all this without your orange blinkers on, but if you do, you'll be dismayed at what you describe as a "culture".
"Do you recognise any friends or neighbours?
If not... there’s always the Twelfth in 45 days’ time!
More on this mammoth day for unionism..."
That was the most cringeworthy slideshow. Pretty much on point for Unionism really. You can almost hear the death rattle.
Why was that dope using old pictures for?
You answered your own question
I asked why did he use old pictures?
You referred to him as a "dope" which answered the question
Bingo
