Doesn't look like there's a thread yet (sorry for the lack of an intro 😁)
Danny Ric in the barriers in FP2
Pitwall: "Is the car all right?"
Danny Ric: "Em, I'm all right"
😬
These new race directors are not exactly showing themselves up well.
Fair. I'd love a simple heatmap on the left hand initials that showed race pace in relation to other cars and perhaps a number that indicates what position they'd come back out in if they pitted at that moment. I know it would get a little cluttered - but that would actually be so useful in these mixed condition races.
I don’t think no more rain is good as this pretty much guarantees no more action.
And there’s Marshalls trying to clear up debris on the track and the barrier.
Red flag is not a surprise. There was a lot of debris and that barrier needs to be fixed.
Incidentally, he was very close to hitting the steel barrier next to the barrel wall
Won't get anywhere near 77 laps by the time the race has to finish at 5pm.
Red Bull leaving the Pit did look as if he crossed the Yellow line - could well be a penalty,
Red flag now, will this race even run the full distance?
Why do drivers not just go straight for the barrier when the marshal is instructing them to? The car is smashed to bits, what do they want to see?? Marshal trying to guide them towards the barrier and they drag their arm away etc
There always seems to be an air of "your just a marshal don't tell me what to do".
No
Grid start would be tasty now
Red flag is no surprise. Letting cars fly by under VSC while marshalls were on track getting Mick out of the car and then wasting a few laps behind SC before the stoppage is more surprising.
Race clock for 2 hours still running despite rules saying it should stop.
Starting to miss Masi, these guys today are total clowns.
Felt that was a definite penalty for Max. But looking at the LeClerc on board, he was probably staying in front either way, so I don't think he needed to be so aggressive on exit.
What was Hamilton complaining about Ocon for, he really is a dose when he has to actually race
Another rolling start?
They're all on dries ffs.
That really should have stopped and should be reset to the crash time.
A grid start now would be savage!
But no, a rolling start it is.
Whatever it takes to remove any chance of excitement!!
There was contact at the first corner between Ocon and Hamilton.
Jesus, that Ferrari team radio...
Hamilton was complaining about Ocon not moving over like he did 5 years ago
The track might be more of an advantage to those who's positions are on the racing line.
As a Perez fan, I will take a boring rolling restart right now but normally I would agree
It’s a reasonable decision currently as the racing line will be dry and the other side of the grid will be wet so it would be very unfair on the cars in even numbered positions.
One of the very few correct calls from race control today.
Amateur hour!
I know it’s a more or less dry track on dry track. Maybe splitting the race director duties was the bets move.
They have to get passed Lap 58 for full points
I know it was a mess. LeClerc was right to be annoyed.
I am going to predict that either Max or Leclerc won’t finish. Most likely they will crash into each other.
Now going to have few laps behind safety car.
Today's director seems to be an anti-racer.
Not many lessons learned from Spa last year it would seem. They suspended the race start procedure but still started the 3-hour race window. Which meant that the 2-hour race time had to start an hour later while the cars were sat in the pits. Just nonsense.
