I'm exhausted looking at the utter nonsense and your 100% correct re bizzare obstacles and deflection tactics, impossible to engage with people like this 🙄
”I have the measure of you”?
😂😂😂😂
Just the latest in a long line of accounts who spent the entire time going from one poster to another attacking them because they are afraid of someone with a different opinion
Fight the fear a chara
This should give FG a boost in the polls. 😃

There's no "difference in opinion" in what the meaning of affordable housing or average citizen means.
Affordable housing meaning.
Affordable housing schemes help lower-income households to buy their own homes. They offer eligible first-time purchasers the chance to buy newly constructed homes and apartments at prices significantly less than their market value.
If what they're marketing as affordable housing is out of reach, price wise, as to the market it is intended to serve (lower-income households) then it's clearly not working or fit for purpose.
If what they're marketing as "affordable housing" is actually unaffordable to those it was intended for, and actually becoming just affordable to those with incomes that should not need to avail of affordable housing schemes to begin with, then it's an abject failure.
How can you not actually grasp this fact?
The average citizen thing you apparently need clarity on, is so unbelievable that I'm not going to lower myself explaining that to anyone.
Have a great day though.
You seem to be struggling, someone posted about unaffordable housing. I just asked for clarity and it turned out I was 100% correct. Yet you continue with these posts trying to have a pop at me.
The average wage in Ireland according to information is just below 50k.
Would that not be the average citizen?
It seems to be a common theme here about firing out "unaffordable" and "average" citizen, when asked for clarity none is provided because it is just words with nothing behind it.
If you get so upset about someone asking for clarity then not sure why you are on a discussion board because thats the point of it
If you just want an echo chamber of slagging off the government plenty of website around to provide that, some peopel on here have different opinions which is still allowed
What isn't shown in that graph, is how house prices have risen at a completely different rate than wages, an have been doing so since the 90's.
From last year
All average house prices are available here in every area

Sorry, I haven't been following the thread fully, as I am currently very busy, but are you trying to argue that there is no house crisis in Ireland and/or that all houses are currently affordable for all?
😂😂
A chairman of a GAA club has bizarrely won his own clubs lotto...
.....
John Connolly, Chairman of CLG Bhearna, took home the prize of €10,700. Mr Connolly, a Fianna Fáil councillor, took part in the lotto draw alongside club officers Murt Conneely and Shane O'Flaherty..
....
CLG Bhearna have been in the news already this year for a club lotto draw that took place on April 1st. As an April fools joke, the club drew the numbers of the aforementioned Mr Conneely, before coming clean and revealing that the ruse.
Talk about art imitating life!
As Father Ted Crilly once said moments before he won his own raffle, "The last raffle that I was at was very interesting because the people who ran the raffle actually won it. So, it's not unusual for that to happen now and again."
Self reflection?
This is how I picture every single member of Fianna Fail. And their supporters will get a great laugh at this too.
I had to read it closely, as a few years ago, a friend who was Secretary of the local GAA club won their lottery. No one begrudged him his win as he puts a lot of time and effort into the club.
Discussion on the government thread is about a GAA Chairman winning a draw at a club fair and square....exciting stuff
As the guy is a Chairman I would expect he has invested huge amount of his time for free into the club.
Reputable people and institutions generally don't enter a draw they oversee. The reputation of FF doesn't help his case either.
Discussion on the Government thread is about the parties in government. A news story was linked to (NOT discussed yet) about a lad picking out his own winning ticket, and he just had to be an FF councillor. You couldn't have bet on it.
It may have been a pot luck draw, and the April Fools draw may not have been a dry run, but it's still the type of typical 'hilarity' that we have come to expect from FF. It's almost slapstick comedy. He had to be a FF or FG councillor to make it that bit funnier.
Admittedly it's usually not a literal raffle ticket when they pick out their own names/crony names for profit but it is a good analogy.
You spent all day yesterday defending a criminal for beating up a pensioner and a man for murdering a Garda. Now you are complaining about a GAA Chairman winning a lotto because he is a member of FF
Get up the yard
This is an excellent example of why ireland has a housing crisis.
Checking the Facebook website we have one guy complaining because the sun in the morning MIGHT not hit his house but he doesn’t know
Other person said it’s ok but too many floors
of course the usual, oh they built high rise in Ballymun and it didn’t work 🤦♂️🤦♂️
How can anyone expect the housing crisis to finish when you have people blocking houses apartment getting built
https://www.rte.ie/news/business/2022/0524/1300939-700-objections-lodged-against-dundrum-apartment-scheme/
Facebook 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
My pal isn’t FF. He was supporting his club in every way. As I said, no one begrudged his win.
There’s a massive issue of integrity and fairness here- someone involved in running a local lotto should not be taking part.
A better example would be that the building developers have too much power with the government in their pockets.
I'll be surprised if Maryanne doesn't have a friend who had a builder build 17 houses in his back garden and he was fine with it, even if he had saved for 24 years while living in his parents as a soldier while waiting to buy it. 🙄
SF 36 %
FF + FG 35%
Popcorn time
Well I suppose one positive for FFĢG
Greens up 1% 😁
FG will be happy with that 🙄
But not for the reasons that they would try and have us believe. They just don't have the Cajones to rid themselves of Varadkar.
It's extraordinary to think that combined FF & FG can only muster 35% , not surprising, just extraordinary.
Who would they put in though instead?
Coveney's chance seems to have come and gone, and given his fondness for increased globalisation and immigration would probably just exacerbate the problems we're already seeing.
McEntee? Like Leo, too fond of her twitter account and trend chasing. Completely out of her depth in Justice with disastrous consequences. Would certainly tick the gender and identity politics boxes though! These days that seems to be enough so who knows!
Harris? Equally unsuitable!
They like FF have a problem in that there isn't a clear successor who could unite not just the party and government behind them, but an electorate.
RedC uses a panel of 40K respondents that it thinks represent the electorate. Some of the other pollsters use a random sample of the electorate. The rise of SF in the RedC polls should be a cause of concern, if not outright fear, for FFG. Was there a Bacik bounce?
Regards...jmcc
All pretty unpalatable and incompetent in equal measure, Pascal the Rascal doesn't have the stomach for it I don't think, Jesus that leaves Heather 😳, I'll say no more 😏
I don't think it would matter. Whoever it is will be a stooge. Just dumped in there while they are down and maybe trying to rebuild, then out after a decade. They're used to having leaders not become Taoiseach, my guess is they know they're down and out for a while once this government is out.
I didn't. That's something you made up while you were defending a rapist.
I'm suggesting a man winning the draw he's overseeing is suspect and him being a member of an organisation, FF, known for fraud and cronyism isn't a good look.
Not talking about your latest convenient friend. If you are not saying 'nothing to see here' what are you saying?
