I suggest you read and contrast.
You more or less told me to shut up and stop talking about the topic. When that didn't work you went off talking about FG
New Politics ? Great that the taxpayer can afford all these cushy academic numbers and massive pensions. Keep working taxpayers, the trough is only getting bigger!

How €216k role was created for civil servant on secondment to university
Seán Ó Foghlú is one of two former secretaries-general on secondment to colleges while keeping their salary.
An academic role was specifically created for a former secretary-general at the Department of Education to go on secondment, while still being paid his salary of €215,998.
The Government is arranging for former leading civil servants to work in academic positions until they get to retirement.
No I didn't. You made claims and I asked you to support them. I never told you to shut up or anything like it.
Whats your opinion on the ministers at the races put up by the gambling lobby with a vote on gambling legislation on the way?.
Where are you on the crony appointments on planning?
Just like the Horses, so to speak, Said TD'S will do a Good Gallop from explaining themselves, seemingly they've "Jointly" agreed to make no public comment about the Shenanigans at Punchestown, beside Leo thinks its all perfectly fine and acceptable for TD'S to be getting free Junkets.
Sorry but yes you did, still are now.
If what is claimed is correct then it was wrong in terms of the races. Did I say it wasn't?
The "crony appontments on planning" I haven't read anything and I certainly wouldn't be clicking on that clown Chay Bowes website. If you support online trolls that is your choice, don't expect other to support.
Prove it.
Not sure what exactly I am supposed to be proving.
Gaslighting as usual from the usual suspects
Its getting worse
...of course its getting worse, it was always gonna, this approach was never gonna work, just some dont want to accept this reality!
Well said 😉
It's a pity housing is still be treated by some to get political points......if the parties all came together to get this crisis resolved for the people of Ireland we would be in a lot better position.
Instead we have parties more interested in making the issues worse
The housing crises is a direct consequence of failed policies by those currently and previously in government.
Are you suggesting those in opposition should stop opposing these failed policies to fix the housing issue?
Is this a serious account?
You still think that the housing issues are unintended?
There is no crisis. The market is "working" as intended.
I mean, the latest solution is to incentivise developers to build more apartments.
There's one way for the market to return to a sensible place and that's to stop privatising housing policy as we have done since the 90s.
Half a million quid for a 3 bed semi in Crumlin is absurd.
2500/month for a house in Lucan is absurd.
The market is functionally broken for the average citizen. There's no point in trying to fix it unless a fundamental policy shift occurs.
What is the "average citizen"?
Obtuse poster is obtuse.
I didn't expect you could back up the comment. It seems a common issue around here.
- Poster requests a definition of well understood term.
- Poster ignores the rest of the same post in its entirety.
- Poster gets shirty when you refuse to engage with their deflection.
Your posting style is so transparent.
And look, seeing as I'm responding thusly, I guess your deflection has been somewhat successful.
Maith an buachaill
Who is getting "shirty"
It was a simple question, it doesn't deflect from the housing crisis which I already confirmed is an issue and all the parties should be working together to resolve.
That's it. Everything is working perfectly in housing. Otherwise they'd change policy.
Subsidse builders. Then subsidies the renters. What could possibly go more wrong?
Money to be made, **** the tax payer. Business as usual.
Don't respond to this distraction folks unless you like utterly fruitless discussions with zero learnings.
100%
Oh come on, you tried this same pointless and defective argument yesterday when you pretended to not understand who "affordable housing" projects were intended to service, and what kind of income people would earn in the "affordable housing" targeted market.
Incorrect, the person claim it was unaffordable which was incorrect, all I asked was could you confirm what would be affordable, no one could answer
So the original post should have said unaffordable for some, affordable for others
Any chance of discussing a topic or is it the usual of discuss a poster because they have a different opinion?
I've heard that before. Housing would be tackled if the opposition just nodded along with the bad policies that make housing worse. Genius.
While investors like Darragh O’Brien and his landlord colleagues are making money from the crisis, why would we expect Darragh O’Brien and his landlord colleagues to change housing policy?
I posted yesterday that you were erecting obstacles for the sake of it, and you've just proved that's what you're at.
"unaffordable for some, affordable for others"
That's pretty much applicable to everything in life, (I gave a super yacht / Elon Musk example yesterday)
However in the context of "affordable housing" well when the so called affordable housing is becoming too expensive for the very market it was intended for, well then that can not be described as anything other than an abject failure, and they need to go back to the drawing board.
If it is “pretty much applicable to everything I life” why are you not having a pop at the person who posts up the apartment was unaffordable?
Doesn’t really make sense you have got upset with me because I provided the clarity after the person incorrectly posted saying unaffordable?
Any chance you might have a go at them?
I'm not having a go at anyone, you just seem to be be struggling with basic concepts in life, yesterday it was "affordable housing" and it's intended market, this evening you didn't seem to understand what the term "average citizen" means.
You are now getting a bit annoyed that I have the measure of you.
