Looks like it's going to be next year now. I never mind when a game has to be delayed if it means not overworking devs and being able to deliver a stable day one experience. Just hope it's not a sign that it ends up in the dreaded "development hell".
Given how little they've shown of it, and the pandemic of course, I wouldn't be surprised at all. Having said that, it was only last week that there were rumours it would be shown at the next PlayStation showcase.
Ouch. This was something I was heavily looking forward to this year, but maybe they were aiming for a q3q4 release and realized early enough they wouldn't make It, so while this seems like a huge delay it's probably for the better.
Some random article I read from yesterday said that an "insider" confirmed the WB stated Q3 release this year. It's very quiet, but that may not be a bad thing. We're so used to seeing update after update for the big games, that we nearly expect that now. I prefer radio silence, because to me that means they should be concentrating on making the game, instead of promoting it.
Only time will tell.
The PS State of Play for anyone who missed it. Looks okay but if I have to sit any feckin' exams, I'm out.
Features on PS5;
There was a survey sent to some Xbox owners in January from MS basically asking if they would like a SX controller with DualSense features. I know some people aren't sold on it, but having experienced it since launch, I can feel that trailer. And my god it looks stunning. Excited!
Agree, that's a far better trailer. Pretty sure the kids are asking/getting this for xmas :D

Another look at gameplay tomorrow;
I hope they're not diluting the experience by showing all this before release. I've stopped watching, I think I ruined the experience of seeing the house rooms for the first time, so I'm stopping watching/reading anything. Just want to play it, it looks right good.
Yeah, over-saturation is rarely good but somehow I feel like I still don't know a lot about this game. I'm just hoping it has a nicely realised world that is fun to explore. The source material had that sense of mystery and that's what I'm hoping the game manages to capture.
And at 46 mins I think this would be telling me too much so I didn't watch it. 😅
Delay on some platforms announced (basically the old-gen ones)

Some of the voice cast have been revealed. Simon Pegg seems to be the biggest name, playing Headmaster Phineas Nigellus Black.

Reviews starting to show up now.
currently 86 on opencritic and metacritic
86 on Metacritic after 34 reviews.
Pumped for Friday.
jackfrags playing it now on PC using PS5 controller (how I'm planning on playing it) - had a little look for a few mins and looks good. ACG and Fextralife are positive about it too which is promising.
Great to see it review well, I'm looking forward to playing it, the cancel culture knobs on twitter will not be happy.
Any word on if it does need to be connected to the internet to play or was that just the one time connection for day one patch? And I guess future patches.
Delighted for the clowns, they using devices made by near forced labour in china but turn a blind eye to it .I never liked Jk Rowling but wont stop me buying a game that has nothing to with her bar license
Having no interest in HP, I was intrigued what the cancel culture hoo ha was about. Bloody hell. Looks like an excellent game, successfully avoiding open world and franchise tie in pitfalls. Even someone with no HP knowledge could enjoy this game. It's going to sell incredibly well.
That's right, I was never interested in any Hewlett Packard stuff 😉
Zero interest in Harry Potter, I think I saw half of one of the films. Anyway, glanced at some gameplay of this yesterday and actually looks like a lot of fun, would definitely pick it up at some stage for a flight on a broomstick. The aggressiveness online towards anyone who seems to want or buy the game is ludicrous. I get The author is an asshole for having the opinions she does but it seems like the only connection she has to this game is the HP name, that's a damn shame for all the people who love the world created here and all the people who worked on it for years.
She will be getting royalties for every game sold.
Ya true retro but she is a billionaire already so not going make her life any better .
Muppets on reset era banning talk of it but yet have Hogwarts ads on the site so they still making that coin out it 🥸
This actually looks good.
There's no online element to this right? Entire offline RPG?
