On Friday afternoon, Prokopenko posted a new, short video on the web in which he said that the highest command in Ukraine "gave the order to save the lives and health of the garrison soldiers and stop defending the city."
- Despite the very hard fighting ... and the lack of supplies, we constantly emphasized the three most important conditions for us: civilians, wounded and killed. Civilians were evacuated. The seriously injured received the necessary help - they were evacuated to Ukrainian-controlled territory, says Prokopenko in the video.
"I hope that in the near future, families and the whole of Ukraine will be able to bury their soldiers with honor," he added.

Excerpt:
Arguably, any concessions to Russia will not reduce the probability of a nuclear war but lead to escalation. If Ukraine falls, Russia may attack other countries (Moldova, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Finland or Sweden) and can also use its nuclear blackmail to push the rest of Europe into submission. And Russia is not the only nuclear power in the world. Other countries, such as China, India, Pakistan, and North Korea are watching. Just imagine what will happen if they learn that nuclear powers can get whatever they want using nuclear blackmail. (Emphasis mine)
I'd say there's paedophiles who are disgusted by what they're hearing the Russians do. That's how sick these vermin are.
Zelensky seems to have a very good relationship with Ireland. I think he appreciates the strong support for Ukraine joining the EU.

I wouldn't really say that just because the Russians are making progress, that they are suddenly competent, or performing well.
The progress they are making is slow, coming at huge cost in lives and equipment. Plus they have a huge advantage in available weaponry. If you were to give the Ukrainians the same available weaponry, I reckon this war would be over, and Russians would be back behind their borders licking their wounds.
I seem to recall about 10 years ago Putin himself had a go at Europe and said we have a Pedro day to celebrate crazy abuse stuff. Now I am thinking Putin himself could well have a track record that could well be suspicious in that regard. Along with a fair numbers of Russians.
Russia MUST be seriously eating into its supply of weapons, tanks vehicles and souldiers. Rui also has losses but from the vehicle and ammunition perspective but the replacement rate is on a much better footing and I assume quality and impact is increasing
russia parades its captives from the strucken steel plant
Putin sent his assasins to London to kill Alexander Litvinenko for writing an article suggesting just that.
This Russian rock singer has some serious cojones. Denounces the war, the murder of Ukrainian civilians and denounces Putin himself from the stage. Very rare you hear someone in Russia speaking so openly and explicitly about the war.
Yes but the supply of grain to someone the world's poorest countries runs out soon ...its going to provoke famine imo. Putin is a B$st$rd
Oh don't worry about Russia, it has huge factories all over the place. Izhevsk and many more places are well industrialized. It's size is 17,000,000 square kilometers plus. I'd say there's so much minerals and facilities it's unbeknownst to their potential .
I went from Moscow to Izhevsk on the transiberian express. It's an amazing country.
I read the book called Trans-Siberia inside the grey area. By Paddy Linehan. I had to go there.
Amazing country, and the people are quite happy over there and it's well worth a trip when all this blows over.
Oh goody the Russian Tourist Board has turned up ;)
Russia does not appear to have much of the infrastucture anymore to produce or replace the parts they need to keep things going. Many of those parts were sourced from nations that have now cut them off.
Back in the Soviet days their factories might have been able to churn out gear without touching a western nation, but the situation changed a lot on the past 30 years espcially with the old Warsaw Pact being now little more than a handful of client republics around the old Soviet borders. They could possibly get back to Soviet era internal production, but I suspect that will take years. In the meantime they have to settle for whatever crap China can send them…which doesn’t bode well for quality…
Blows over ? WTF ?
I doubt sincerely they will notice me and my comments!
it's well worth a trip when all this blows over.
Russia - a great bunch of lads
Link to recent report on human rights abuses in Russia prior to the brutal and illegal invasion of Ukraine in February this year.
No one in their right mind is going to be visiting that sithole for many years to come
They were jealous of Ukraine’s prosperity and now that they can’t steal it they are going to destroy it.
Three weeks since the Ukranian strike in Izium, any sightings of Valery Gerasimoz?
I've read he was on a call with his US counterpart, but he seems to be out of circulation..
Strangely, a good friend of mine took the Trans Siberian express and found it a much less exhilarating experience. I believe her take on it was "the common perception in popular culture of Russian women throwing themselves at foreign men" was very believable when travelling through Russia. Her exact words were if "I lived there that's what I would do"
really hoping he gets dragged out of his palace and hanged. Though looks like he will be dead soon enough.
Yoink
..
What's just as interesting is the crowds reaction...
Kinda reminds me of caucescu in Romania... Once one person applauded they went all in. Shows why Putin is so scared of gatherings.
Reports of explosions in Rivne region
nowhere in ukraine is untouched by Putin

I wonder how well it would go down with the people if the government starts suppressing famous artists like Shevchuk too. Previously they could use speeches like this as propaganda: "See, he is allowed to criticise the government, which proves there is free speech in Russia!".
