Nope, not on a Fiat.
For all their faults, the gauges worked.
If there are no tell tale signs of the tractor actually overheating it might be the temp sender on the way out going haywire.
Last one we changed started reading very high before it stopped working completely.
Stupid question time but what are the tell tale signs I should look for? It can shoot up all of a sudden then back down just as fast. Heater is working in the cab whenever I check that
Could be the water pump? Dangerous that way.
If it's shooting up and down like that, it sounds more like a faulty sender or gauge

Ya sold both separate, miss the fiat for spraying and stakedriving with the front loader. But happy I sold it, was talking to new owner the other day and she's going well
I’ll second that. Fiats here that have a lot of hard work done over the years and no matter what pressure they’re under or for what length of time they just don’t overheat.

I have heard of two that over heated between 5th & 6th cylinder (nearest cab) gasket blew. Both tractors had engine side covers off and were agitating slurry when it happened. I think it’s important to keep the side cover on because it gives more air flow to cool the cylinders further from the radiator.

Anybody got any experience of the TR-4 bale handlers?
Have the tr3 for the past 5 years. Used most of the others over the years. Couldn't speak highly enough of it. Quick,easy to use and very few bales damaged. Really comes into its own with loading, unloading trailers and stacking
Is it easy to flip bales into their ends?
Couldn't be easier, reverse and pull back and up all in one motion. Drive in then to pick up your bale. You have a great view and it's next to impossible to damage one.
Just got a TR3 for the first time last weekend. I only stacked a few bales with it as I was too busy on the baler. A neighbour drew home all his own bales with it and then some of mine. We were a bit skeptical at first looking at it and weren’t sure what way it would work for unloading from the trailer. He rang me after the first load to tell me it’s a super job and the only way to move bales.
He had a little over a mile of a draw from field to stacking in the yard, with a trailer bringing 14 bales, and he was doing it in 40 mins a load.
We have all the other handlers here, static handler, hydraulic handler and soft hands but there’s none of them could match the TR3 for speed anyway and we’re only getting used to it yet.
Elephant or swan neck is all I can ever remember seeing in this part of south Kerry. That's going back to the time of the RP12. Took long enough for the rest of the country to catch up.
If u have front linkage on a tractor, could u put a double bale handler on front and back, big tractor

Yes. We have on 190 hp upwards case tractors.
Is it hard to line up the bales iykwim
Easy to do via the front, but all depends on view from cab over engine. Probly as handy to line them up first with the back lifter if in doubt.
Loader puts the top one on the 2 together in the field, then reverses into all 3.

Well from what I see on donedeal tractors seem crazy prices compared to a few years ago... for example I bought a john deere for 20k about six years ago and I would get more for it now w more hours wear etc... but I suppose it's all relative with more cash...demand around etc. Also not sure if lads are getting asking prices...

Brave man to spend a big sum on donedeal. I wonder what % of people buy tractors online vs through a dealer? I know donedeal has dealers but I class them as through dealers rather than private.
the answer to that is yes. if you have a clean well maintained tractor in good physical condition that average/below average hours for the year you’ll have no problem selling it. Weather your a dealer or it’s on done deal. A tractor that was worth €30k 2 years ago, is up €5-8k since then.some desirable models even more. Crazy stuff
Would most be buying on finance?
With rising interest rates I'm expecting prices for all assets largely bought via finance to drop in price.
dont Know what the % is that is financing. Would depend on the cost of the machine I suppose. Prices can’t stay were they are… at some point it has to reach a breaking point and come back to a more realistic values.
