It’s only 4 chargers at Gorey Ionity, and then 5 if you include the eCars 50kW unit… but still the most viable option to avoid the void of the M9
There’s 8 spaces all right, but only the ability to DC charge 5 cars simultaneously.
Thanks Gumbo. I'm pretty sure I will install a matte screen protector, they are cheap in the overall cost here. What mudflaps did you get?
Was going to post this myself yesterday but didn't as it's currently unavailable,, but there are a slew of them out there that will do exactly the same thing..
The compressor I have is a Michelin one bought in Halfords many years ago... don't think they do the same model anymore, but in a 12v compressor, I'd be looking for at least an auto cut off when the desired pressure is reached.
This is the one I have;
These are the ones I got, but bought from Amazon Prime not as I thought AliExpress. There are many similar, much of a muchness..
Seems as though your mind is made up.or was form the very beginning!
I see US media talking about Tesla considering not accepting new orders. "Elon says"
The 18" white RWD and LR have deliveries pushed to April-June 2023. It makes sense to stop taking orders as they can't predict the prices beyond that.
If I would be on the fence I'd consider putting down the deposit. I know it just increased to 250 and it is harder to swallow but still. On carzone the cheapest Model 3 is a 2 year/25k km old at same price as new. If the gov will lower the grant threshold next year, they may be persuaded to accept old orders. (it happened before).

Hi, how do we know when the ships are out for a delivery? or is it just a matter of checking inventory every few days? If you were to get one of those cancellations, do you lose the €250 deposit on your own order?
I have an order in from end of last month and my app shows delivery Feb 2023, but going to Tesla website now shows delivery now as being Jan-Mar 2023 with the same configuration.
When can you availe of the 5k grant - is it when you actual receive delivery of when payment method is locked in? The earlier the better obviously given the grant's status in 2023 is unknown.
Very jealous of the people state-side who complain about having to wait 2-3 months for theirs....
Keep a watch out on this thread in Tesla Motors Club:
Re the deposit, I didn't loose mine because I got Tesla to book the inventory one for me. But I would say you more than likely would if you did so yourself. Not sure tbh.
Grant will be looked after by Tesla. You just pay the nett amount.
In the same way I’d always buy a screen protector when upgrading my smart phone. Cheap thing to do and potentially save a big expense of replacing a broken screen.
Highly highly unlikely you'd break the screen in the car.
Did anyone else buy the jacking plugs that allow the car to be jacked up for wheels to be taken off? I bought them and threw them in the boot.
Yes also bought them
I have one too.
Inhad it from my previous Model S’s so didn’t include it in my above list of what I got for the 3.
I also keep the size 22 socket, wrench, Tyre plug kit and those mini 12v compressor in the square Tesla bag in the boot.
As I said …mind was made up. Not sure why opinions sought …
On the contrary, plenty of helpful replies, apart from yours that is 👍
So, in theory 400km.
Sounds about right. 250 Miles seem to be the sweet spot at those speeds.
Of course you could drive slower to get more as the EPA/WLPT tests that report the range were not carried out with prolonged motorway driving.
Tesla need to announce some superchargers for the M9, it is getting ridiculous at this stage that a main road connecting 2 cities in Ireland is practically an EV charging wasteland!
Be great if they did, but we shouldn’t be relying on Tesla to service the routes. The government have a lot to answer for here.
Yeah I'm doing North Dublin - Waterford and back tomorrow, and unless I get a charge in Bolton St in Waterford, I'll be looking at a return trip on the M11 via Gorey, or even down & back via Ballacolla...
M9 south of Kilcullen all the way to Waterford is a charging wilderness!!
And one faster charge point in the whole of Waterford city, with reverse in parking at the wrong angle and often blocked for the free parking..🤐
Carlow and Paulstown in Kilkenny are service stations right on the M9 and BOTH have a massive amount of parking that is never in use so I really do not understand why the M9 does not have multiple charging facilities in these stations!
Are they applegreens? Heard they weren't letting other providers in anymore to keep space for their own future network.
Problem is we need the chargers now
Paulstown is Applegreen and Carlow is Circle K.
They should be forced to either install their own chargers asap or they need to allow another company to install as the M9 needs chargers right now!
Thats a fairly significant detour to Ballacolla because there are no chargers in Waterford or on the M9, how long did the detour add to the journey?
It really is not good enough on a 140km motorway to have so few options for ev charging...
Just leaving this article here for context. Some might remember last year when the anti-Tesla were going on about MIC build issues including brake failures etc
It May all actually have been false according to this report stating that Tesla are persuing the people who spread the info and drivers admitting they lied!
https://insideevs.com/news/584899/tesla-china-owner-admits-lying-brake-failure/?fbclid=IwAR2D4hTSmFzk_yTv5xalXNh42cSczx-sNAhMqELBsPtPlPN0uRafey-X1Qs
I must be one of the only Tesla owners whose car hasn't fell apart. Just over a year now and the bumpers haven't come off. All the wheels are still on it. Hell even the panel gaps are good on it. It must have been a "faulty good" car that I got.
I think what I have is "kerb gouge" not "kerb rash". In addition to the occasional run in with the kerb, I struck a high kerb turning out of the underground car park in the Pavillions (that's the big keep gash in the before image).
I put 3 coats on, and used a paint brush to evenly spread, applying more into the deeper parts. This obviously need to be completely sanded, and in the case of the deep....much sanding! Just applied the clearcoat today, its still wet/visible in the after.
BEFORE
AFTER
I mean it still very visible, but if you stand 2m back you really cannot see it anymore as the paint blends.
I'm pleased with the results.
My plan is to continue to rash it until its flush, at which point this wont happen anymore...
Yours looks a 'bit' worse than mine, on mine there was a few gauges but not so deep. Sanding followed by more coats would probably help in your case to knock of the high spots, eventually filling the gauges. I found that when painted at least the visible silver damaged bit has vanished.
Big improvement though in your case..
I placed a reservation for an M3 standard at the end of April, and done all the pre-delivery tasks as far as I can see, however I’ve gotten a few texts now saying the below.
Prioritize your delivery by providing payment method details and completing your pre-delivery tasks.
I’ve selected the Hire Purchase with AIB finance and leasing option and there doesn’t seem to be anymore I do - did anyone else find this?
Was the exact same for me..
I ordered on 15-Mar and also selected AIB hire purchase. I completed the other steps in the account but could not progress this one any further.
I also got the same texts as you but ignored them. After the 3rd text I jumped on the online chat and asked the rep was there anything expected of me. He said no, the delivery team will contact me in regards finance. Approx 2 days later, I get an email with finance application form and was approved in 24 hours! This all happened about 1 month after I placed the initial order.
So now all steps complete in my account and patiently waiting for a VIN, but from reading other forums it looks like we could be waiting for quiet a while!
