I'm 95% pegged since ath few months ago but the stable coin drama made me cash out a big chunk of change, didn't really want to do it but the USDT fud got to me like it did in 2017/2018 :(
Just cash out at the top. Wish I thought of that
The real winning strategy is to have bought Bitcoin when it was only .30c a coin in 2010, and not sell it when it's worth .30c a coin in 2022
Was talking to a fiend of mine during lunch, he was (and got me) wondering if there is any hope LUNA could bounce back again, €100 now could be massive profits, and obviously not a lot to lose (unless you've already lost a lot).
I can't see any way back for it or Do Kwan as it stands, I know he is trying to get $1Bn backing to 'rescue' this and is claiming it can be done.. But for me it's a nope. But willing to hear anyone else's opinion.
A quick google seems to have many on the fence - first three results
Depends of course on the electricity rate. Some miners pay nothing or almost nothing so mining will be profitable at any price, no matter how low. And to give you an idea about home mining ETH with a GPU, a middle of the road 5 year old GPU still makes about $25 per month ($300 per year) in coin and if you have an electricity rate of say €0.19 (and no cheaper night rate and no home PV) about half of that is electricity cost. Some of which can of course be offset against a lower heating bill a good 8 months of the year in Ireland when your home heating is used. So, yes still very, very high returns on mining compared with pretty much any other lowish risk investment.
...But best not to invest in any ETH mining equipment now. 😉
Au contraire. It's still very profitable. But yes if you expect it to become loss making like it was in 2018/2019, then wait for that. I have bought mining rigs and sold them a year later for 10x
$0.30 per BTC in 2022? What's the point of allowing nonsense posts such as this? We have a new breed of idiotic trolls now. At least Johnny Flash and Pintman Paddy were somewhat witty and humourous with their trolling. By the way, BTC and crypto will recover, like it always does. 🤤
Those drugs I bought in 2013 with btc are worth millions now
I was referring to Ethereum mining ending this year. - Next month IIRC.
Ninja EDIT - No, it was moved further out to Christmas I think.
2nd EDIT
I'm not looking very hard, but can't seem to find any reference to it moving to Christmas, but pretty sure that it has.
He upped the Terra token supply and crashed the price through the floor. Now the stable coin is still depegged and the parent token is a shitcoin. It would have been better to halt trading. People were buying the stable coin transfer if to Terra and selling it, that’s money gone forever.
Funny you should say that.. a friend of mine text early this morning to tell me he bought € 500 worth of luna. I told him he was mad and then he text back at 2 saying it had gone to 55 cents so he sold it all for €3300. Not bad for a mornings work. Not the way I roll but an opportunistic move all the same.
@Suckit - "I was referring to Ethereum mining ending this year. - Next month IIRC."
😂😂😂
When I started mining 5 years ago, the ETH consortium said they would be POS before the end of the year. Here we are 5 years later. It was supposed to finally honestly happen next month. It will happen. But not next month. And I very much doubt this year. Maybe next. Maybe not. If you would have bought a GPU 5 years ago, it is still worth exactly what you paid for it and it would have made 10 times that in coin (well up to recently anwyay 😂)
I genuinely believe it is happening this year. I am aware there has been talk of it for years, but this year seems it will happen.
I haven't looked around but I think it has been confirmed or close to .. ETH 2.0 was June 22 until recently, I know that sounds like they are still moving it, but I guess only time will tell.
And what do you think happens to a GPU mining rig, mining ETH, when ETH goes POS?
(rhetorical question)
Answer: you just start mining another coin. Would take me about 10 seconds to switch. Sure it will likely be less profitable than mining ETH, but profitable it still will be. It has to be, it's the definition of POW.
BTW Vitalik and most of the ETH team genuinely believed it was happening in 2017.
Yeah, but IIRC they were hacke the year before which changed everything.
I know I have good reason to believe that it will be this year (even though that has already moved out to the end of year), but I can't for the life of me remember what it is 😂😳
I was reading over on bitcointalk and ended up going down a rabbit hole of links, and I'm sure it was in those somewhere.
Even if it happens, the miners will just mine something else. The same as what happened with 4GB cards that could no longer mine ETH in December 2020. Meh. Non-issue really. A few weeks ago my cheapest 4GB cards made more mining ERG than my cheapest 6GB made mining ETH
I'd say a lot of miners will have given up the ghost before then anyway, they always do when there is a massive crypto bear market dooming ahead of us.
Now is a good time to stay buying Bitcoin. I had planned to keep a few different coins but now I just average in to Bitcoin. It will go up and down etc but if you truly believe in it then you won’t be worried.
I only invest what I can afford to lose and slowly is accumulates. It’s at a nice price now. Will probably go lower.
FYI, seen plenty of warnings not to be "tempted" to buy Luna at the mo, apparently it's stuck in an ever increasing supply spiral, the supply is going to keep expanding until something cracks
Just refreshed it there after 5 mins, supply went up by 2 billion in that time, utterly insane stuff
I think the supply as 7X in 2 days.
103x by my calculation
There's a bouncer that took 5 green androids off me one time. He must be worth 5 mil now at least as they cost about 0.15 BTC
Nice bounce back this morning. If you timed it right and bought yesterday there was a nice chunk to be made.
I did not 😂
Same thoughts, the only comfort being there was a time when I would have fomo sold what I've got left lol
I'm going to be rich, I bought 100,000 Shiba Inu. When those babies explode, I'll be loaded. I hope I don't regret not spending more than a Euro...
Well obviously you have your answer this morning. The attempt to repeg UST depended on hyperinflating LUNA. That is why it has become worthless, even if it recovered its original market cap it would only be worth $2. LUNA is completely dead.
Luna users get screwed by depegging. That sounds filthy!
Bought 4 link there
Luna:
I bought in 2016 and 2017 and haven't panic sold on any of the dips since then. That's proven to be a winning strategy.
