That is in development for the last 7+ years. It was supposed to be in full production since 2020 and gone into service in 2021. It's the Armata. While modern it's not as capable as the main US, German, British, French and South Korean main battle tank
Looks like it dependability is not great either. There was supposed to be three in the parade only two turned up. It seems they had no tractor to haul it with. If they were any use they would have used some in Ukraine.
The Russians must have been afraid to send them to Ukraine as the farmers there would have hauled them away for scrapping.

If one was to go on Russian double speak that could mean Putin admitting the Eastern regions are lost to Russia and he's getting the "I told you so" about Crimea in now in the fallback hope of playing the innocent victim status that they crave.
Not admitting of course that Crimea is still part of Ukraine and hasn't been signed over to bould Putler.

Simple math? Not enough parts to go around, don't put extra mileage on the jets necessitating repairs/parts/... when you're saving them for...whatever?
That doesn't explain zero flyovers. At all . It simply doesn't. Theyve had about 7 or 9 jets doing a Z over moskow for weeks getting the shape together. Whatever about canceling multiple country wide flyovers. Cancelling all of them doesn't make sense.
As I said there's something behind it and it's not sure all the pilots and jets are gone.

Think there might be some reaching with the lack of flyovers. I read at the start of the war (no way I'll find it again) something of an account of their training and maintenance and unless something is flying into combat they really don't fly very often and they don't do the kind of training most in the west would do. If they've lost an appreciable number of planes (which they have) and a huge amount are kept in not-working order then along with the pilots they've lost they could already be at the point that the hassle to put on the show isn't worth the logistical headache of getting people/equipment out of the active pool. Hell, airshows will likely be affected in the summer in the west with planes being on standby even though most actual effort will just be logistical runs. Have to be ready.
Fair point - it's just another excuse for their nonsense to take hold domestically. Just like on the battlefield, they shouldn't be given any victories in the information war.

The absence of flybys in Russia in my opinion could be Putin's fears of shoulder-launched anti-aircraft weapons wrecking his day. There are clearly fractions in Russia that don't like Putin and I am not referring to those from outside Russia, but the guys standing behind him.
Well their ambassador to Poland is now completely Red so interested to see how he gets in too
