All women, children and the elderly evacuated from steel plant
You have evidence to back that statement up do you.
Legally walk away, fine if you an orphan and have no family back in Russia you could walk away but there’d be a bullet following you for the rest of your life
It wasn't characterised as "deadly". Here is the precise quote from the Pentagon transcript:
MR. KIRBY: I'm not gonna -- I'm not gonna promise you a fact sheet. I can promise you the damn thing works.
We have to remember that the US has significant offensive weapons capabilities: it doesn't really need unmanned ships with significant offensive capabilities; it needs them for surveillance and targeting, search and rescue, mine-clearing etc.
In any case no matter what system they've been sent I very much doubt it has the capability to hit the Crimean bridge; and I also doubt that the Ukrainian Armed Forces would use it for such an attack even if available.
You have evidence to back that statement up do you?
Part of the issue is they’ve never lived in a non-oppressive regime. There’s never been anything else in their reality.
They’ve low expectations of government, low expectations of officialdom, politics, don’t feel they can trust a lot of things and side step issues / work around things, duck, dive, keep their heads down and avoid being caught out.
The same applies in places like China.
The people who would protest probably left a long time ago.
Interesting take on Putin's reasons for invading Ukraine from Hillary Clinton. She may well be on to something - it might be motivated by his failure as Russian president and the fact that he and his gangster mates have looted the Russian economy.
Ring a bell?
I would love to see what happens if it was the opposite in Russia.
Maybe up to 15 years in prison or a novichok cocktail served from Kremlin
Vladimir Putin ordered the transfer of troops from Syria to Ukraine to accelerate the capture of Donbas, reports "The Moscow Times". There are over 60,000 Russian soldiers in Syria, almost half of them are officers.
I cannot say about Germany but here in Ireland a big chunk of Russian speaking supporting Punit are not even from Russia. Many are from Baltic countries like Latvia, Estonia, etc. Some never even got proper passports when their countries became independent following the split of the USSR because despite being born there, they had to sit a language exam which they didn't know hence were never given proper citizenship but a thing called "grey passport" - document allowing them to live in the country, but that's about it. When their countries became EU member states, they didn't get to become EU citizens because they were not citizens of their countries to begin with. But that's just some. Many do have Latvian and Estonian passports.
Bottom line I certainly wouldn't assume anyone with the Russian flag is from Russia.
Doesnt matter where they come from,as long they are russian speaking and supports Putin
They obviously look at russian news
If they support Russia they should move there, dont use freedom of speech here thats non existing in Russia
I disagree with this for two reasons.
1) Does anyone thing that Trump would deny himself the ego-building position of savior of Europe?
2) His disdain wasn’t for NATO, it was for the fact that most of NATO didn’t think NATO was important enough for them to meet their defense commitments, a position which was not without merit. If, however, you look at what the US military was doing under Trump’s tenure, it involved a very definite increase in focus on the ability to defend and reinforce Eastern Europe. Exercises of a scale not seen since the Cold War of both Army and Sealift assets, both on the ground and with foreign partners in the US and acquisition of assets relevant to near peer and peer power conflicts. See National Defense Strategy of 2018, for example.
As my parents' generation used to say, "The fish stinks from the head."
It's not clear exactly how many Russian personnel are still involved in Syria but it's highly unlikely to be anywhere near the figure you're quoting.
I think the 60,000 figure you're thinking about is probably the cumulative total of all Russian personnel who have ever been involved in Syria since 2015; not the total who would actually be stationed in that theatre right now.
I had the impression that they went straight from communism to all-out unfettered capitalism with western companies seeing opportunities to make vast profits quickly. The result was a short sharp shock to the average Ivan in the street who was often left wondering if the old days were really that bad. As one said when interviewed, "Yes I can speak my opinion now, which I couldn't before, but at least I had a place to live."
But both versions of the state bought into Russian nationalism - that's one aspect that didn't change in the slightest. The big military parade on May 9th is identical to the ones of the 1970s and 1980s. So they changed in some regards, but in others hardly at all.
Well, they probably don't watch Russian news as such but possibly still remember well how they were treated in their own countries being Russian speaking. This kind of creates a pro-Russian support even though they never lived there, some probably never visited Russia ever.
There are plenty of Ukrainians and Poles here as well who don't like Ireland either and think very poorly of Irish in general (they voice their opinions again thanks to freedom of speech here), yet they keep living here because financially it's better for them. Shall we kick them out too? Or is that different?
I agree that ideally each person should live in the country that they love and support its political and cultural attributes. But this will never happen.
Azovstal soldiers want to surrender to a third party and exit the war. https://twitter.com/AlexKhrebet/status/1522909863185104897?s=20&t=kg9B9MHQHGh7_DOa9-aAGA
You dont get it do you, supporting the war in Ukraine and Putins warmachine and crimes are a bit different then complaining about their wellbeing in Ireland.
And they support it most likely because they are russian speaking, like many eastern europeans do,because of the old soviet union, where it was compulsory
Next time read the link before talking shyte. I don't use quote marks for decoration.
You posted a link to an article which mis-quoted the Pentagon's spokesman John Kirby.
I provided a link to the official transcript of the quote the article claimed was made by John Kirby; confirming that the article you posted made an error or intentionally misquoted Kirby.
Maybe try taking your own advice in future.
shocking scenes as Russia tries to encircle the Donbas
An absolute tragedy of history that she missed out by so little and Trump got in. That's twice the US has allowed an FBI head to fu*k over the country.
Looks like the culmination of Ukraine's work in the Black Sea:
By the way here's what the Russian MoD said about the attacks on Snake Island:
The following have been shot down in the air near Zmeinyi Island: 1 Ukrainian Su-24 bomber, 1 Su-27 fighter jet, 3 Mi-8 helicopters with paratroopers and 2 Bayraktar-TB2 UAV. The Ukrainian amphibious assault boat Stanislav has also been destroyed.
They are so full of **** it's almost like reading a parody account on Twitter or something; but it's the genuine 100% bona-fide Russian Ministry of Defence: https://eng.mil.ru/en/news_page/country/more.htm?id=12420352@egNews
This is a laugh https://twitter.com/olex_scherba/status/1523022088105123840?s=20&t=JjRvzKRwXajLjcCZonlj9Q
Shocking to think that VHF radio communication, which can be picked up by any ordinary citizen with a suitable receiver, is still being used by the Russian military. Another thing that's fairly symbolic of just what a backward shambles they are. Everything about their military and tactics seems to be stuck in the past. Have none of their commanders studied modern military strategy? Is it just a kind of perverse pride they take in sending wave after wave of grunts at an objective until something is achieved? The Russian population is large, but not inexhaustible, and not being an existential war, you're not going to have soldiers giving it their all.
The Vietnam War was a disaster for the Americans and to this day we see it as an awful senseless meat grinder of a war. They lost somewhere north of 50,000 men over a period of ten years. By comparison, the Russians have lost something close to 20,000 men in two months and a bit. They cannot sustain a war with that rate of casualties. Absolutely impossible in this day and age.
The true step 3 was to take out the replacement AA as well. As seen in the landing ship which blew up with a TOR on board.
Whoever is left on the island at this point has to be having the worst week in their life.
Lol that other boat was getting the fcuk out of there.
