If I had 12m and the income to maintain it I'd buy that place in a heartbeat, the restoration is lovely, and even despite the ghost of His Nibs it would be a gorgeous place to live. Too big of course, but still...
6 years ago the current owners bought it for 4mil... tripled in value in only 6 years?
They said they spent more than 4 million restoring it.
replacing or repairing 148 sash windows is not cheap.
yep there is millions gone into that, and youd want to have plenty of cash to maintain an estate like that,
it wont be a quick sale as there arent many buyers at that end, but stunner of a restoration.
Screaming out for houses, Mire Ukrainians coming in than we can handle, but don't rezone the empty churches.
I am guessing that they will come up for sale individually, so may be some nice conversions in the coming years. If the new owners are allowed to do anything with them.
Great views of the Sea...
And of Under the Sea
€50K ??? 🤯 Location?
"buy this property, if, the next time there is a storm, you want to be scared to within a lahinch of your life..."
A lot of work, money and stone has gone into protecting the seafront at Lahinch since that storm so it's unlikely the sea would ever do as much damage as was done in 2014. The biggest problem with that house, IMHO, is there is sfa parking around there. A 4 bed detached a couple of hundred yards from that place is on the market for just under 900k.
Nice little do-er upper!
looks like something from the post-apocalyptic game Fallout...
The machines rose from the ashes of the nuclear fire. Their war to exterminate mankind had raged for decades, but the final battle would not be fought in the future. It would be fought here, in Belmullet...
True- but for offers in excess of €350,000 I'd hope to be able to open the downstairs windows and not have to listen to the lads on the bench under the window having chips and cans all day and night while watching the waves.
'...in need of complete renovation' 🤔😂
Hence the storm shutters.....
Would be a nice little earner on AirBnB...
Talking of church renovations. There is a site with a church spire you have to keep on sale for 495k in Kilmainham. Includes Lapsed planning permission from 20 years ago which would mean what? ( Can’t post link but St Jude’s spire Dublin 8)
No interior pictures and ‘occupied under unknown terms’........full of squatters springs to mind.
They can be smoked out, no worries.
A fine place at that price ?
That looks like a good buy, though the whole thing is hard to sort out - the tiny plan layouts are useless. Looks like great potential for a b&b or letting though.
Id does look like a good price for all you are getting. It makes me think there must be some undisclosed issue.
Late to the party but that house was up for sale about 5 years ago, and was on the market for quite a while. Not on a particularly pleasant road either but it looks like it had a bit of freshening up since it was last on the market.
Was that house featured?
May have been posted before.
Yes 12 mill is a lot of money but actually seems cheap given the scale of this house compared to other high end properties I have seen listed.
post a week or so ago. Was owned by Archbishop McQuaid
cant fault the finish or the house, at that end of the market, in that location people will want expansive sea views, not ones you need to climb a bell tower to see, id be amazed if they get within 2m of that asking price tbh.
I'd say you're on the money there. €10m seems to be list price for Killiney mansion without sea view.

That is fab ! Not usually my style but this is just wow.
Bit out of my range but maybe they'll drop the price 😃
Just have a look through the photos on this one!
