Those boys restored some pride in the jersey tonight. Much needed. Grateful for it, tbh.
They left some goal chances behind them but they'll learn from it. They actually learned a lot from the first half and improved in the second. The more they can play Limerick the more they can learn how to get beyond this new system.
A pity there's no backdoor opportunity.
Agreed. Can't fault the players for effort, not shying away from tackles and getting well stuck in. Might not go their way tonight, but this group has come a long way since minor.
At least they're putting in a decent shift and fighting. There's a big difference in body size in a few positions. But that can happen. This will stand to them long term - now, they know what the standard is. Cummins and co have done a lot with that team in a short space of time.
While we’re doing our Best, we look like minors V U20 in the physical stakes . I thinks we’d be better off just dropping ball into the square than out to the sides . Big ask for the second half
So much better than our senior team at running with the ball, good to see because you need to be an athlete these days.
Big opportunity for the under 20s to keep up their rate of development with a good performace tonight. Up against a side that have won a lot at underage and are very experienced. It's a tall order. But hopefully they can keep up the levels that can give Limerick a game. Full back looked like a concern the last day - hopefully he can step up a level.
Jason Forde just hasn't been any where near his standards in the championship so that would explain a lot. With Seamie and Bubbles out he couldn't be rested either
John McGrath going in for surgery on his Achilles today
Forde and Quigley out for this weekend. I had heard that Forde hadn't been training since before the Waterford game and has been getting pain killing injections to play.
Indeed. I was really impressed with the level of stick passing throughout. For 16/17 year olds to be passing like that, impressive to me, anyway. Woodlock and his management doing good work.
Some performance, another munster final to look forward to.
Young Delaney would want to watch himself! A performance of Eoin Kelly-like proportions.
Minor match on tg4 sport Facebook page tonight
Two changes. Ed Connolly is big loss.
A big hope Fred but really hoping the same.
Anyone know the latest with Bill Mahers injury?
Happy with the footballers as we have struggled against Waterford and especially in Fraher Field. Quite convincing.
Limerick are no joke though and are on the up. Promoted from division 3 this year so that game will be tough.
If we beat Limerick we do not drop into the Tailteann Cup, and that is good with me. I firmly believe the best way to get better is to play better teams. Hopefully we could stay Competitive with Kerry for a while and then have a big qualifier game with a Quarter Final spot on the line.
After a shocking season last year, this team has done well to regroup and if we can get past Limerick I reckon we could give a good team a huge fright in the qualifiers.
awful for him full stop , he is probably one of the most whole heartiest players you could meet be it club or county , but he was struggling for form since the last injury and just working his way back on to the team
he has had some seriously impressive performances against us down the years , the minor final in 2012 in cork he destroyed us , in 2019 he did the same in cusack park , he won every journalist over afterwards with his magnanimous interviews ,it was actually discussed at half time on clare fm tonight for the clare v limerick football game , which shows just how much a mark he has left
i am sure he'l leave one or two more when he returns ,
Good win for the footballers, 50/50 game now against limerick in thurles for a spot in the munster final.
Disaster of a week for Loughmore and Tipp.
Yeah ruptured his achilles. Gone for the year
Young Ed Connolly out for the season.
Anyone else hearing that John McGrath is out for the season?
Clown johnny murphy strikes again!
Had to have physically threatened Murphy. If it’s a ‘he said this’, ‘no I didn’t’, if the ref sticks to his word it’s over for Dunne
Tommy Dunne has been banned for 12-weeks. It couldn't get worse, could it?
Oh wait, the Gaelic Grounds awaits...
He can still appeal. Dunne is adamant he did not act in a threatening manner.
Munster Minor Football: Tipperary 3-12 (21) Clare 1-8 (11)
3 wins from 3.
He sustained a broken finger and they said a few weeks. But then it got infected to the bone. So, be heavy duty medication to stop that. Could be a while.
All true but might as well find out what's what about him or someone else in a tough game. And act accordingly afterwards. If he not ready now when will he be? Three or four years of S&C in him now.
We need a red card at the start to get us going 🤣 If Bowe's not fit, I'd start Stakelum.
