That's a fairly unique take on my point.
I was placing the behaviour in a purely historical context, that wars of conquest generally tend to result in looting and plunder of the conquered lands. This didn't start with the Nazis, which we seem to liken everything about this war to.
Plundering is sadly to be expected. It doesn't make it right, of course not, it's absolutely terrible. It's certainly not unique to the Nazis or in this instance the Russians.

In Grozny, they had small round tins, (like shoe polish tins, except a bit deeper ) these tin's were packed with what appeared to be small 2 " steel nails with fins on them, resting on an explosive base, and these "tins" were placed under the body's of the dead, so that when relatives / medics etc. lifted the body up, they exploded, showering everyone within a 20 ' radius with lethal steel darts.

the bigger picture maybe that the Hungarian's may have been on the way to being swayed to ditch NATO and give Russia it's land bridge to Serbia..

Eastern Europe looks at Hungary with wary eyes as a dodgy little shi7hole. It looks West to Germany and Austria with a frankly disturbing loathing. That's going to be affecting European politics for 20 years.

I really don't know where to get a good source on Ukraine at all. The war is appalling and I guess all we can do in Ireland is try to help the victims of the war.
Remember when Russia overtly wasn't controlled by in your every move state agency. At least they had composers before being subservient North Koreans templates. Communist nazi's is a new phenomena.
Might be time to invent some new kind of NATO protected state status without the need to go through the full membership shenanigans and announce that at midnight on the 8th to ruin his parade.

Peace partner status is sort of a halfway house.... you don't get article 5 treatment, but you get presence and support off NATO... Malta is an example of this.

I read the first two articles. They're huge. and really well written. I'd post them here but I'm wondering about copyright and also, it's pages and pages of text.
That's partly because they are getting thin on the ground. Ukraine now has tank parity with the Russians.
