How f*cked would we be if Russia did let off one of those Poseidon drones somewhere near enough off the west coast of Ireland, realistically though? 500m high wave sounds like some grade-A Ruski propaganda, so I guess the truth of it would be somewhere in between that and some glowing green seafoam.
The nearest thing I can think to compare is tsunamis in the far east. As near as I can figure, that Poseidon bomb going off would be roughly equivalent to a 9.5 earthquake. One with its origin point right on the surface of the seabed, I suppose, not far down in the crust. At the least, considerably worse than the 2011 Tohoku earthquake that led to those scenes of villages being swept away in Japan, would be my guess.

It would probably be one of the last things the Russian military ever do! It would also end the country economically. The nuclear thing is a bluff, like the vast majority of the veiled threats they've made but it's about the only one that will get any Western attention.
And even then, the North West is full of high cliffs and dunes. It has a natural defense to high waves.
The airport at Chornobaivka has been hit consistently by Ukraine for weeks now; Russia lost countless helicopters and generals there and still tries to use it.
I seem to remember reading somewhere that this was always the main road route, it's the loss of the rail route over the bridge that's the main problem with the bridge being destroyed. Also, seemingly the Ukranians look after that section of road, the M15, seeing as it goes from Ulraine to Ukraine, for only about 8km inside Moldova.

Well the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake which caused significant (but by no means nation-ending) damage to Japan had a surface energy of around 190,000 TJ. The largest nuclear weapon ever detonated released about 210,000 TJ.
The associated tsunami recorded maximum wave heights of around 40m; so 500m for an event of similar energy seems like more than a slight exaggeration.
Which is all kinda academic because presumably if Russia is literally detonating nuclear warheads to attack Britain then the world is already or just about to be engaged in a nuclear World War III; so I suspect we're going to have significantly more to worry about than a tsunami before too long anyway.

Technically it would be possible but....it would need to be very precise and in a particular location. There have been tsunamis when chunks have fallen off undersea ridges/faults. Generally a huge amount, the size of several massive mountains drops off, during an earthquake, in a gigantic landslide, and that causes the tsunami.
I'm 100% certain that 500m would be a massive over estimate. And even if we ignore that, I don't know about the geology off the coast of ireland and if it would be possible there.
I've heard stories that at the canaries there's a giant shelf and if the canaries every drop into the atlantic Ireland would be hit by a tsunami. That was however told to me many times in pubs. So the veracity of it is definitely disputable. :)

What will Putin do on May 9th? He's got to be going mad that Russian forces are making little to no headway in their current eastern offensive. Will he just get up and do 20 minutes of super-nationalistic sabre-rattling waffle, or make a more definite statement? I've seen some tabloid outlets claim that Putin will use the day to declare war on the "world's Nazis", but if that came to pass, it would fit very much into the former category.
The biggest fires are been ignored only a handful of firefighters no army to help and these fires are out of control across Siberia a major catastrophe for Putin.
