Outspoken people in public life are expected to forgo a level of privacy. Indeed he was seeking fame and attention at the start of his career for a long time. It's just the way it is.

I don't have any problem with it, others do and I'm guessing because people who desire attention in media normally have to forgo a level of privacy.
And can think of plenty of autistic people that work in the arts. First to come to mind are Gary Numan and Anthony Hopkins .
What’s your point her? The character allows him the best of both worlds, be creative and entertain people while maintaining some anonymity. Why do people have a problem with that? He gets to do what he loves, without the aggravation of being recognised
the true issue being, is in fact others respecting or not respecting this need and want of privacy, people chose pubic life for various different reasons, you ll actually find autism, along side many other disorders, is in fact very common amongst public figures, theres actually a very high concentration of autism in the arts in general. those of us on the spectrum should have the same rights and wants as neurotypicals, including privacy, in our chosen fields of employment and simply being. no you dont need to be autistic to be famous, but the reality is, many famous people are, due to the explained......
Probably a bad choice to work in media with a public audience if you value a quiet life. Plenty of famous people want privacy, you don't need to be autistic.
Yep, biggest thing was realising things like anxiety etc have been with me since day one. So there's a lot of learning to accept this stuff about me ATM.

As a person recently who has recently been diagnosed with autism, I actually find him opening this discussion to be good for myself. I haven't really told my entire family and I'm in my early thirties so find it hard to even broach it. So people being open about diagnoses at older ages is good.

he briefly spoke about his use of his character, i suspect hes still in the deep reflective stage of diagnoses, since it was only recent, and is still grappling with it, as i suspect most do, post diagnoses, as i did myself. he mentioned the use of the plastic bag, that it makes it easier to maintain anonymity, most of us on the spectrum like a quite life, the fear of being wrong, atelophobia, is common with the disorder, amongst other issues

I’d have the same issue with Mrs. Merton, god be good to her, or Ali G doing interviews on serious topics “in character”.
If Sasha Baron Cohen was on the Late Late talking about suicide or testicular cancer while dressed and talking like Ali G I wouldn’t be too impressed.
He could be dressed as Borat but speaking in his own voice, on the same topics, and I wouldn’t have any issue with it.
But that’s just me, the bag isn’t a big deal. Just a minor distraction. Coupled with the character voice, it just takes away from the “message”. For me, anyway.
With regards the bag, I believe I heard him say before that he “modifies” a plastic bag from that north side shop and can get a few wears out of it. 10 maybe? Not a bad return.

If I said something incorrect about something then by all means lay out a correction. Merely alluding to it vaguely without specifics, simply declaring I said something incorrect but not at all going into what it was, where or how.... helps no one.
Happy to have the conversation here though. By all means paste out the lyrics of the song in question and we can analyse it as to whether it is glorifying drugs, or mocking them. Glorifying the users, or mocking them. My position if I recall correctly (as I said this is some time back and it is not fresh in my mind so I would have to have this conversation with you from square 1 again, you came out of left field with this out of nowhere to be fair) is that he claimed the song was doing the opposite of glorifying drugs and when I read the lyrics closely and watched the video I concurred at the time.
The assertion the song was demeaning to fat women is a completely different conversation and one I do not recall having had before. It is perfectly plausible the song in fact did do that. I honestly do not remember.
Happy to have either conversation (I see them as two separate conversations about the same song) if you want. But as I said I would need to start from square 1 to have it as I simply do not remember all that much from the first time.
As I said though I know so little about him himself or his music career. Another user above has pointed out that the song was made years BEFORE the other. So how could he have confirmed he made it to please that crowd exactly?
Perhaps you could clarify / clear up the confusion by citing exactly how/where he confirmed this please? I notice Brian? has also asked you for a citation where he claimed one thing, but he (and I) remember Blindboy claiming the opposite. But you have also refused to give that citation either. Do you not think conversation would be easier, and suspicions you might be misrepresenting (intentionally or merely by innocent error) might be lessened, if you would cite your source and have us all singing from the same hymn book? Human memory is fallable, my own as much as others. So if you want to make a claim based off what you claim he said.... let's find what he actually said, no?
It seems a lot of things you say are not true to be honest. Even when you talk about your own self.... such as claiming some users are on ignore or that you are leaving the thread.... even that turns out not to be true. Why you wish to erode your own credibility from every direction in this way is unclear to me. But I am happy to facilitate you doing so.
Your point 3 above is a little iffy. He has not "tried to sell alcohol" to anyone at all. The advert, assuming it exists (still no one but you have mentioned hearing it, but I am happy to assume it exists as the conversation is worth having regardless of whether it does or not), was a sponsorship where he put his voice to another persons product. This is not the same as trying to sell a product.
I actually do cringe a lot when people try to sell certain products to their fan base. Not saying they should not mind you. But often it just seems crass. For example a boards user I deeply respect a lot got me listening periodically to Jokko Willink. I listen to about 1 in every 10 or 15 podcasts he releases. He attracts a certain demographic. And he tries to hawk products to them all the time like brain pills and vitamin pills and all sorts. He is actively trying to sell products like that to his fan base. Blindboy is not. He voiced an ad (allegedly) paid for by another persons business. MUCH different.
You end your post with a hypothetical question. Once again I would answer your question the same way I have been answering ALL your posts so far. An answer you have thus far refused to actually engage with, accept, or rebut. Rather you just shouted things at me like "cultist" and "fan boy" and so forth before running away.
The answer is this: If someone is going to include a sponsorship for alcohol in their work then I would much prefer that someone is a person or group who actively engage with their fanbase / customers / following on the subject of alcohol, how to use it, when not to use it, how to evaluate and process your relationship with alcohol, the merits or alcohol and the demerits of alcohol.
Contrasted to where someone might endorse alcohol, laugh all the way to the bank with their sponsor cheque, and never once engage with the subject of alcohol, or the fan base following their message, or show any concern at all what their message endorsing the product might do to that following.
So too would I have more respect for an alcohol company who choose to have their product represented by, or voiced by, a personality that is likely to speak at length about the harms, demerits, and risks of the product rather than someone who will smile, bring in the sales, and bugger off and say not a bad word about the product or it's effects or risks.
I agree, I struggle greatly to understand what peoples issue with the bag actually is. My suspicion is that they do not have a problem with it. Rather they develop some issue with HIM.... they can not articulate that issue or rationalise it.... so they latch on to something obvious to denigrate instead. Which is a very human trait. You might hate someone for some irrational reason and since they have red hair you go on about them being a ginger tosser for example. Whereas the same person might be a fan of someone else entirely, and will simply not even notice that person also has just as red a head of hair.
Not entirely sure I see your other point here. Not saying I agree or disagree with it, just not sure I get it is all. What is wrong with a stage voice? Many people have on stage personas with props, costumes, and stage voices. Instantly Julian Clarey and Ms. Merton and Ali G jump to mind which probably shows my age. But there are many people on stage, radio, tv and podcasts who use a different voice in their work than they would talk in down the pub with you. Pretty much every Radio DJ does too. I hope!!! Can you imagine living with some of them if they ACTUALLY talked like that all the time? :)

Then again I have always been a person all my life who focuses on a persons words and message. Not their voice, clothes, gender, race, qualifications, stature, history, religion, sexuality, or anything else. I have policed this in myself quite strongly over the years. The moment I catch myself focusing anything but 100% on what a person is saying and anything but 0% on who the person is who is saying it.... I reign myself in and berate myself.
It's a difficult skill to maintain as we are a subjective and emotional species. And we often put way too much (in fact very often we should put zero) credence in credentials! But it has benefitted my greatly over the years both on and off line.
Without meeting him it is hard to know how fake his voice is though myself. It might have been a made up lie from him of course but I do recall him mentioning being recognised (vaguely remember him saying in a taxi once, and an elevator another time) because of his voice.

I liked the early podcasts, funny stories and some interesting history but he just takes himself very seriously it seems. Bag and voice doesn't bother me at all.
I remember him saying the exact opposite. It was a satire of the glue sniffer. I’m not a fan of his podcast or writing myself, I just think people are being way too hard on him here. Most of them dismiss him without ever listening to him.
No I'm not arsed trying to find it but it was a good while back on his podcast, someone had sent in the question specifically about that song. He mentioned immaturity. It's no secret he was chasing fame for fames sake, he said it himself.
Im fairly ambivalent to him by the way, I really liked his comedy and music but the mental health and woke stuff isn't for me.
